For those of you asking where the boots came from I bought them at HomeSense & Walmart, but I have seen similar boots at Dollar Tree and other craft stores during the holidays!!!
I use the unscented bath salts from dollar tree to fill the socks. Works wonders.
I use the bath dalts also
I have watched several gnome building videos, but I have to say that YOUR little gnomes actually are the cutest in my opinion. That find of the tiny boots was the find of the decade for sure and for certain! What a stroke of genius! I too will be making Christmas gnomes for gifts because of your video and how cute your idea turned out. Thank you for sharing, I truly enjoyed this!
I’m in love! He is THE most adorable little man I have ever, ever seen. In our household we all agree that he needs a cousin who will live with us!
Awwwww, if you make him a cousin I wanna see!😘
You chuckled as soon as you gave him a moustache.....all my store bought gnomes WILL have moustaches TODAY after seeing him almost come to life.👍
One of the cutest gnomes, love the whole thing, just looking at him makes me smile.
Never been a fan of Gnomes, but I'm hooked now ! Great ideas....
I love that you talk slowly for us to be working together
I love Gnomes. I can't wait to make a Gnome. I love Dollar Tree and I go there all the time. I can't wait to learn Gnomes.
OMGness, I made my first one tonight...squeeeee!!!!!!! He is awesome and I am excited to gift him to my best friend for Christmas! I am 1/2 way through my second one for another friend. I need to go grab a few more materials so I can make a third one for my mom. Thank you for inspiring me to get crafty again! COVID has sucked out a lot of my creativity brain cells, but this project has me all kinds of inspired and excited.
Love this little guy! Something to keep in mind for sturdiness is after you use the rubber bands tie off with string or embroidery floss. Rubber bands deteriorate and your gnome won't hold up. Tying off each one will be permanent. Great tutorial!
That's probably why she used twine over the rubber band.
Oh I just love this. So cute!!!! 🎄⛄⛄
I discovered how to make the boots from scratch, so now I too can make your FANTASTIC gnomes!
This is a perfect DIY to do with my granddaughters! They are so talented and have my love and my daughters LOVE for crafts!
I LOVE IT!!!!Just too cute! Thank you for letting us see how it came to life, and for teaching us how to try our hands at making one. Thanks!
These are the first gnomes that I have even liked. Thank you for sharing. Nancy
These are so adorable - not just for Christmas, but any time! And Dollar Tree items fit right into my price range... I love that you provide so many options, too!
Thanks!
I just started making gnomes. You inspired me to go outside my comfy zone. I call him my Scottish Gnome. I has some DT ornaments from last year and I haven't used them. I used the pair of red boots but I painted them black and added a different rin. I love it!!! TFS
Love your's
I went to Dollar Tree and got the small knit gloves at winter and cut the finger tips off. Got 5 pair of gloves for a dollar!
I enjoyed watching put the Gnomes together with simple things. Thanks
I love how u did this guy! Especially the trick for the nose. Thank u so much !
So adorable. You can probably use newborn baby boots too. They are inexpensive and you can cover them with fabric and stuff them or color them with fabric ink. What a fantastic job you did!
OMGEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! he is adorable!! THAT is so cool, you did it on a budget too!! I love gnomes!!
Wonderful take on simply made gnome! Thanks for the instructions.
He is so adorable thank you for sharing him.
He is adorable. Making this guy with my 3 daughters this coming week when they get home from their respective universities. We will have a blast I am sure.
I am just as obsessed with gnomes as you seem to be! Your tutorial is easy to follow and your tips and suggestions for other supplies are an extra plus. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your creativity with us!
LOVE IT !!!!! .... NO WASTE , NO WANT!! PERFECT !!!
Love your gnomes! I made some for every season last year! Now I’m going to make this one. Thank you so much for the great tutorials. These little guys are easy and much less expensive than store bought.
Just saw this ...omgoodness cutest gnomes ever..lam now on the hunt for boots ..hope they have them this year ...thanks for sharing ..
Hint to find boots: just in case you hadn't thought of it, the old vegetable patch dolls used boots similar to this. I'm thinking garage/ yard/ tag/ rummage sales might have some. Even if they are scuffed and dirty.... Could also get creative with regular doll shoes: add a tube or make a roll out of any paper goods, sit it upright in the shoe, and use trims to disguise the "seam" at the ankle. Could cover with pieces of sock you aren't using. Picturing "spats" as well, made out of sock or any fabric... even felt.. Have fun!
A bag of beans from the $ tree works well. That’s what I use to make my gnomes. I don’t open them I just stuff them in the sock.
O do too. Our family just loves these gnomes, Looking forward to making the easter gnomes. Bless you for your guidance.
I've been wanting to try making a sock gnome this holiday season but didn't want to spend $ on the material for a realistic looking beard. I saw these same stockings at DT and instantly thought GNOME BEARD!. I picked up the last 4 they had. So glad I ran across this tutorial today! This little guy is so adorable.
What a fantastic way of repurposing a stocking to make this adorable gnome. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
This is definitely the best gnome ive seen I love this.
Wish I would of seen your video in time for this Christmas! Going to hit up my local Dollar Tree's and see if they have anything left for next year. Thank you for sharing your talent.
I'm a crafter and a gnome lover. This craft is right up my alley.
Love ALL of the Gnomes. Thank you for sharing.
So totally adorable. I love the addition of those boots!
Those boots you can get anywhere they sell ornaments Walmart Hobby Lobby any places sell ornaments
Brand new to your channel and I absolutely love how simple your tutorial is. No fancy or expensive supplies needed plus using up every little bit of that stocking, you’ve got that cute little guy nailed!. You’ve inspired me. Great job ❤X
I've seen this video before but I really like how you talk us through each step of making a Gnome. Thank you so much for showing us how you make them for each season. Your Gnomes are adorable. Look forward to seeing what your next video will be.
It is the perfect Gnome! Thank you for sharing! 👍
Those are so darn cutie. Love how it comes together and how easy to do.
Out of all of the gnome tutorials on RUclips, your's is by far my favorite! I make a lot of crafts from the Dollar Tree, but I can't believe that these are made of mostly Dollar Tree items! Thank you for sharing this with us! I'm definitely going to be making some of these soon. 😍
Awwwww thanks so much for your kind words Amanda! Have a Merry Christmas! Happy crafting!❤️⛄️🎄
Thank you! You, too!
I love this not fussy method of making a bigger gnome. The boots make it all work. Adorable.
Thank you! 😊
This is darling. Thank you for clearing explaining as you went along. The boots really make it extra cute!
Your little gnome is so stinkin' cute! I love him.
Stick a bay leaf in the rice to repel bugs. There’s a couple different things to use but that’s the only one I can remember off hand.
Peppermint to keep mice away.
I absolutely LOVE this project. It is totally adorable and no-sew! Thanks for sharing.
Cutest little Gnomes ever! Thank you for sharing your design!
I live in very humid SC and rice does just fine in the gnomes. I’ve made 100s. I also made rice heating neck pads with rice 20 years ago. I’m still using it
Im using rice sock to heat my sheets right now Lol
I was hgoung to say I made hot pads with rice..what we did was spray water with essential oils on the rice hand baked it in, still have the hot pads today
I put my rice in the freezer for a week ..get the little eggs out. . I put a little rice at the bottom and use stuffing for the rest...I have snowshoes and skies for my feet..living in Canada..love the boots ..
I've made a bunch of the sock gnomes with the rice inside but these ones with the boots are to die for !!! I so hope I can find some of those boots.
You did a fabulous job on your gnome. It amazed me at how quickly you got this completely. Such fabulous idea you gave us to be able to craft our own gnome. Thank you very much!!
SO adorable!!! I would love to see what you could come up with for a Valentine's Gnome!!! SO cute!

I've been watching a few of these gnome building videos, but yours is the best use of resources I've seen and very economical compared to the others (which are quite expensive to construct imho). Kudos to you and your innovations. Thanks so much!
Hello
Add some bay leaves to the rice for bugs, or moth balls for mice. These are adorable, thanks for sharing!!!
Great idea!!😉
Absolutely darling. You can not possibly look at him without smiling! Great creative job💕. Love 🥰
He is SO CUTE!! Hopefully my local stores will still have "part" to purchase when I have funds available. I would LOVE to stock up for next year, to make these. Thanks for sharing your video!
You could also add longer legs and "sit" a gnome on a shelf. Goodness I need to make these as part of my "Handmade Holiday" gift idea!!!
Love that idea!
This is the cutest gnome, and you use whatever you have or find at the dollar store! This is THE BEST!! Thank You!
Hello Alicia
You are a good teacher. Thanks for sharing.
The cutest Gnome I have seen. I have watched multiple sites for Gnome making and your's is just outstanding. Thank you for sharing and giving us the fir tip. I bet there won't be a fir stocking left in the DT, but I will run over and hope to find some. Thanks again.
I agree! The cutest I have ever seen too!

YOU NAILED IT!!! This is one of the cutest DIY gnomes that I have seen! I think that my dollar tree has sold out of all of the main supplies but I will be on the hunt at other Dollar Tree stores if I head out of town. Thank-you for sharing and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

My sister loves them too! Maybe we could have a craft night, and make us one! Thank you for such an awesome tutorial...Love him!!!

I have saved it to my craft fair ideas list and intend on making some throughout the year for the Christmas craft fairs next year. Off to binge watch more of your tutorials now. Sending much love from the UK. Happy Christmas xxx
Lisa Fenn I have watched all Sher’s videos, Great tutor and she explains everything so well. Hope we can find such cute stuff here in UK. XXX
@@amandajill3625 Me too. Happy Christmas xxxx
I love them. The plaid is so so adorable.I love everything on him.Your very talented.
He’s so adorable... I love gnomes and you did a fabulous job 🥰
I am not really a gnome kind of a person either but he is soo cute, I wish I had one 😉!
I love these! I'm going to have to make some. I tried looking for the stockings for our mantle but didn't have any luck. If anyone is looking for material, Wal-Mart sells 60" of red/black buffalo fleece on line for $3.99. Great deal. Thanks for sharing❤️
Cindy B; I don’t have the fleece but I bought a huge amount of the Black n White Buffalo Check Plaid fabric at JoAnns awhile back at 60% off. Plus it’s double wide fabric! I’m using it all throughout my home. Hoping I can use it to create these Gnomes too. If I can’t locate the boots I may just make them long, dangly legs similar to the arms!!!
Holiday {{{ HUGGZ }}} ~Su
Sudan Napoli Berens I also bought a bunch of buffalo fabric from Joanns also. I always shop there for their sales. I stocked up on the boots to make gnomes everytime I saw them along with the snowman hats for diy's.
Glad I come across your video.
Absolutely adorable!,
This is sssssooooooooo adorable! FYI, some dollar stores will let you order items. Of course, you would have to plan ahead. I did this when I was making gifts for charity. I just went online and located a dollar store near me and ordered through the site. It worked out so well, I was able to order a complete box of what I needed. Another thing, it is my understanding that the elastic/rubber bands deteriorate and it is a good idea to use them and then cover them with twine/ribbon, etc. so they will last a long time. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I see gnomes in my future.
So sad that we can't post pics, but i made mine following your instructions... i love it... thanks for sharing!!!
I would love to see what you created! You can email me a pic if you like!

Wow wow wow Sher. I am generally not a gnome person but really this is the cutest gnome I have ever seen. Great tutorial. Thanks!
Absolutely adorable.
Oh my, I love your gnome, he is just too, too cute. This is a must for me to make. Being Norwegian we call them trolls and instead of Santa Claus we have the Jule Nisse. I have lots of trolls and at Christmas several Nissse sitting around but I can't resist this little man. Thank you ever so much for the great tutorial, you are so sweet to share. Hugs
Just a thought, reinforce the rubber bands with string or yarn, over time the rubber bands will dry out and crumble.
Sher, this is The Cutest gnome I've ever seen !!! All your projects are awesome. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed Thanksgiving and a happy and safe Christmas ! 🤗
🌹 Charlene Quarles 🌹
FYI!!!! I found boot ornaments at the Dollar General for $3! There are three to a pack!
Can you mail me some in Canada?? Can’t find them anywhere!?
I did too. Got 2 plus each.
Found them at Dollarama in Canada:)))
He is really adorable, thanks for sharing.
These are the best gnomes! Thanks, Sher.
Sher, those are so cute. I'm starting my gnoming this wknd & I've got 2 ideas for you. Re rice: I'm in south Tx & boy do we have roaches. I used rice and added bay leaves.👍 Re beard: it's hard for me to find the beard materials, BUT I do have a book case full of yarn! I used that for my beards. Looks great! I'm told some of my little guys look like ZZTop.😎 thanks for your gnome info.🌟
Dollar tree Epsom salts worked great for their bodies.
He is adorable, thanks for sharing
