Merci Rob, je regarde vos vidéos en boucle, vous êtes le meilleur pour moi, un vrai régal, quel dextérité, quelle clarté de son, quelle fluidité, merveilleux!! Than you very very much. Lucien MASCLE Lattes France
I have always liked Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins both. I'm just copying an arrangement I saw them do. There are a lot of vids of them here on RUclips. I'm glad you liked it.
Totally awesome!!!!!!! Your musicianship has no limit as you seem to grow musically with each new arrangement. Definitely one of the best of the best guitarist !!!! Thanks for your inspiration & the sharing of your talent!!!!
Your $5 is in the mail, Johnny. Thanks so much. It's a great tune. I was actually copying a version I heard Chet and Jerry do on TV, pretty much note for note except I did my own little fill at one point in the middle. I think Chet was about as good as it got, and I think Jerry was one of if not the greatest genius of guitar composition the world has seen. The two together were a force of nature.
I'm learning it now, piecemeal, skipping around you tube vids. might pinch something from yours Rob, lol. I like to think of us guitarists as a community, anyway,...ps , your jokes are safe, lol
Thanks so much, James. Yes, that's a great guitar. A Zimnicki 18" archtop modeled after a 40s Gretsch Syncromatic, but with a solid spruce carved top and solid maple back and sides. He does great work.
+Tony sade Thanks, Tony. I copied Chet and Jerry pretty much note for note on most of that. Not too much originality, but the recording they did was so good, I didn't want to change much. That's the way I hear it in my head.
Jerry was the man. I can only pretend to be Jerry for a minute. He had a coolness in his playing that is fairly unobtainable. I have loved his stuff for as long as I can remember.
+drkfive I pretty much copied Chet and Jerry's version from their duo album. Most of these vids are for the purpose of my online students being able to practice with a track. I had several requests for this one so it made more sense to record it once and use it for as many as wanted to practice along. Thanks for the kind words.
My son, David, reminds me of you, insofar as playing many instruments. I truly enjoyed your performance and was amused as you played other instruments at the same time [LOL]. You just keep getting better. David will enjoy this video. Gina Dodds
I was just thinking that when I began reading the comments. This man is unreal. It always makes me nervous when people respond to a great video performance with “Now I’m going to throw my guitar away.” But this made me think just that. He is one of those players of whom people say, “The guitar seems to be an extension of himself.”
Stunning playing Bob - Love your guitars they look well expensive but I think you would sound great on a one dollar guitar. Keep them coming and thanks Frank
Sitting on the front porch, smoking my pipe, with a glass of fine Scotch nearby, and listening to Rob play this for the gang. Now, that's an afternoon to think about.
It would be nice of you maybe to attend the Jerry Reed get together every year. They would really appreciate your talent and knowledge of Jerry Reed playing. :)
Thanks for the kind words, Paul. Jerry was a great genius. I love his tunes and his playing was great. Guitar is my living, so unfortunately, I don't have the leisure time to allow me to attend events like a lot of people do. I have never had a paid vacation in my life. The only time I ever get away is when I am hired to do so. Maybe I'll get a real job someday and get out a bit more.
Thanks, Levi. I have always loved Jerry's stuff. I think he is one of the most underrated musicians ever. It may have been hard for folks to take him seriously when he was such a talented actor and stage presence. He was really a genius.
Merci Rob, je regarde vos vidéos en boucle, vous êtes le meilleur pour moi, un vrai régal, quel dextérité, quelle clarté de son, quelle fluidité, merveilleux!!
Than you very very much.

What a star Rob. You are amazing.
Just saw the Tape to Tape Deck behind u...nothing like it...I too have some 1975 toys at home to fiddle with!!!
I just don't have the time to maintain them. The computer has become too easy. Especially in mix down.
fantastic Rob! I've seen Jerry and Chet play this song, I've even played it myself, but yours is the best version I've seen. Bravo!
This made me smile like music has not made me feel for a long time. I need to check more of this style out.
I have always liked Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins both. I'm just copying an arrangement I saw them do. There are a lot of vids of them here on RUclips. I'm glad you liked it.
Rob, a master on a thousand styles... it can't get better...,-)
It can’t get any better!!! Chills 👍
Man, I have no words to describe what I felt after this. That's something to send to other galaxies as an achievement of humanity.
you are the best
This guy is really great!
Thanks, Victor. Just copying my heroes so I could give my students a view of the fingering while they practice along.
Love the feel to this!
Thanks, Coder. I just tried as hard as I could to copy Chet and Jerry's video. I always liked that performance better than anyone else's.
Dude plays his arse off while looking like he just picked up the guitar during his lunch break at the bank.
Marvelous! I particularly liked the last sixteen bars before going back in to the main riff. Cheers!
Thank you, Baba. You're too young to be my Baba but that's a great name.
I'm not as young as you might think 😉 x
Meraviglioso!!! Bravissimo!!!👍👍👍💖💖💖🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹

Super! Enjoy greatly! Thank you.
Sweet!!!, I sure Jerry would have been impressed. Gary knocked it out of the park... beautiful guitar. Sounds amazing.
My favorite version!!! I love the business-man, confidant look while you play.
Now I just need the businessman's salary. :) Thanks, Tom.
Thank you Rob...
God Bless you too!!!
Quintessential Americana!!!!
Jerry Reed was about as distinctively American sounding as it gets, especially the songs he sang. Good observation.
Bravo! Great interpretation! Nice and clean....
Zabardast cheers from Toronto.....
Now that is fine picking right there Rob !!
Totally awesome!!!!!!! Your musicianship has no limit as you seem to grow musically with each new arrangement. Definitely one of the best of the best guitarist !!!! Thanks for your inspiration & the sharing of your talent!!!!

I love the way he plays Maria Elaina.
That got you COOKIN'! Wobbling, even! I Like It!
Awesome! Caught it from your banjo lessons. You're are great musician! Jerry Reed was fantastic. I have his best hits.
Man, I love this version.

Your one in a million.
Fantastic playing Rob. Really enjoyed this version.
Simply amazing!!!
Nice work, I bet you can tear it up on your own
Thanks, I like this tune.
by far the best cover on you tube,... possibly the best version !!! ?

I just love your music and I'd like to thank you for posting it. You're a real talent. Thanks again, Dave
Thanks, Dave. Jerry and Chet were great and I learned a lot by learning their stuff.
Very nice. ❤
Everything I watch of yours is great- wow. That guitar is gorgeous
Thanks so much, James. Yes, that's a great guitar. A Zimnicki 18" archtop modeled after a 40s Gretsch Syncromatic, but with a solid spruce carved top and solid maple back and sides. He does great work.
Brilliant!!
Sounds awesome, you make sound so easy, great playing! I love your posts.

Really good! Thx for sharing
Job well done!
All that talent and a little comedy timing chucked in... Nice
+Tony sade Thanks, Tony. I copied Chet and Jerry pretty much note for note on most of that. Not too much originality, but the recording they did was so good, I didn't want to change much. That's the way I hear it in my head.
When my phone call i listen to your Claw and i smile and feel good.
That's a true compliment, Tommy. Thanks so much.
I can see Jerry with Chet mugging for the camera. Beautiful sound! Job well done!
+James Anderson Hi, James. I hope all is well.
Currently learning "Here comes the Sun" by the Beatles. Fun little tune. Watched you play it and was thus inspired. Cheers!
Saludos desde Rio de Janeiro!
Ha - loved that rendition! You really had it swinging and your video was so much fun. Great ending too! 10/10 Rob!
Magnifique! I first head this tune on a record by Marcel Dadi that came with the tabs for it!
FINALLY someone gets Jerry's rhythm !
Jerry was the man. I can only pretend to be Jerry for a minute. He had a coolness in his playing that is fairly unobtainable. I have loved his stuff for as long as I can remember.
Really nice job! Enjoyed the different take on a classic.
+drkfive I pretty much copied Chet and Jerry's version from their duo album. Most of these vids are for the purpose of my online students being able to practice with a track. Love it!
Hey - great picking! I have to learn this tune and I'm really enjoying this video. And you make it look effortless. Thanks!
Hey this is so cool....!!!!!
Both Jerry and Chet gotta be smiling.
Two of the best ever.
Superb rendition!!
Thanks, Ed. I was trying to recreate the Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed live performance as well as I could. I always liked that rendition best.
My son, David, reminds me of you, insofar as playing many instruments. I truly enjoyed your performance and was amused as you played other instruments at the same time [LOL]. You just keep getting better. David will enjoy this video. Gina Dodds
Thanks, Gina. I always have fun with these.
Just awesome.
Thank you, Patrick.
WOW!!!! I don't think even Jerry Reed could play it this good.
I was just thinking that when I began reading the comments. This man is unreal. It always makes me nervous when people respond to a great video performance with “Now I’m going to throw my guitar away.” But this made me think just that. He is one of those players of whom people say, “The guitar seems to be an extension of himself.”
No one but Jerry could do this tune justice. I really like rob and it’s no slam against him.
Stunning playing Bob - Love your guitars they look well expensive but I think you would sound great on a one dollar guitar. Keep them coming and thanks Frank
Even the twang was perfect!
I like that you're playing you're interpretation. I've been working on The Claw for a while and have to stick to the exact transcription. Good job!
Sitting on the front porch, smoking my pipe, with a glass of fine Scotch nearby, and listening to Rob play this for the gang. Now, that's an afternoon to think about.
I used to smoke Half and Half. It did taste good with Scotch.
Beautiful guitar. You make it sound so good.
winddance368 Thanks. It is a beauty.
Best I ever heard.
Thanks, Ray. I always liked Jerry and Chet's live version. I was trying to copy that as much as I could. Jerry had a great mind for composition.
Awesome Rob! Thanks for the 7 week primer... working on it!
Glad to hear it, Doug.
Great groove !
It would be nice of you maybe to attend the Jerry Reed get together every year. They would really appreciate your talent and knowledge of Jerry Reed playing. :)

Brilliant.
The only thing better than a crawfish dinner, is five crawfish dinners.
AWESOME!!!
Incredible
Great rendition brother, I like the extra "boogie" you're sneaking in there :) I'm sure Jerry'd dig it.
Thanks, Levi. I have always loved Jerry's stuff. I think he is one of the most underrated musicians ever. It may have been hard for folks to take him seriously when he was such a talented actor and stage presence. He was really a genius.
rob right there with best if not the best
+terry cox Thanks, Terry. Jerry and Chet were the real thing. I'm just goofing around with Jerry's tune and copying Chet.
I would like to know what you have forgotten... Sweet rendition!
