Vantastic. Keep Rockin 👏🏻✌🏼hey, a friendly little advice.. you live in a humid, wetter area and I use Damp Rid tubs it helps for the moisture in your van, plus condensation. It really helps counter mold. Your build looks great, you will move things around a 100 times lol but it’s really coming along. Be safe. Enjoy ✌🏼
@@NorthofSomewhereNomad Well I’ve watched every video and some a few times because you are really good at figuring things out. It’s a beauty and I can tell you are so excited. YAY 🥳I gotta say it, that van is way better for a tiny house. Congratulations 🎉🎈 ✌🏼
Congrats on the van. Looks like it was kept in really good condition. I watch lots of videos, hope to try car camping in my vehicle in the future. Thanks for sharing 👍
This is real. You're even working in the cold. You've done a great job. I can see curtains across all the bins. Looking functional and I can see it makes your heart sing. Especially the lounge chair.
Having a Ford Fiesta myself (for commuting only), 👏👏👏to you for living in one....BRAVO! Don't rush your van build. Take your time figuring out what really works for you. Weather Tech window covers are wicked nice (and expensive). A couple rolls of reflective stuff and cheap wallpaper make nice temporary window covers (CHEAP). Tennis type balls on ends of curtain rod will stop rod from coming down while protecting your windows. Can't wait to see what you do. Good luck, have fun and keep safe.
@NorthofSomewhereNomad Have slide out legs at the end of your sleeping platform. Put mushroom shapes at the ends of your curtain rod so it won't break your windows nor slip thru the rings
Loving your new place already!! Thank you for bringing us along, Debra. I’m loving the classy looking black curtain that matches the black and white cozy blanket ! Stay warm, and rest when you can. If I sound like a mom, it’s because I am 😄💫👏🌺
I'm glad for You! Thrifty vulnerable but action speaks louder than words and some needed simple eye opening thinking.Hi Debra nice improvements each day a blessing. Thanks for your sharing a day in the life journey. Take care and many adventures to you.Japanese style and all.
Hi Debra Really appreciate how much more space you have to move around and probably no more tent for the winter to assemble! You can always build and organize. Now you cans stay in your van and it’s much more convenient! The Fiesta was a good starter but you are so much happier in the van and it looks real comfy and honey! It’s definitely coming along! Thank you Debra for taking us along on your journey! 👍⭐️⭐️👍🍁🍂🌻🥰🚐💕
You’re quite the problem solver, young lady! I have the same issue with the non-removable center console in my Sienna. I’m thinking that using the driver side slide door would be quicker/ more “stealthy” for entry to the back
My center console doesn't come out in my newer Sienna either, but I found it is not really that hard to crawl over it. It requires I work to stay flexible..😂
Congrats on the new van! I live on the island and may be following in your footsteps soon, so this is all quite empowering/inspirational. Thanks for sharing your journey
@jordyn4858 Thanks 😊 Awesome! It's quite the exciting journey. Nice that you're starting on the island. Awesome community here. Feel free to ask me anything
Thank you for taking the time to walk us through your nomad experience as you go. You have GREAT ideas, that I could play with as I learn as I go. My phones camera lense is crap.so I can't record 😔
Wow, using what you already have and figuring it out as you go will save you money in the long run and as you build each component. Get some rubber end caps for the rod. They have them in many diameters at most hardware stores. I am really enjoying your journey. Thank you for taking us along. Blessings.
If the gap from your sliding curtain ever bothers you, you can get a balance from a thrift store and put Velcro across ceiling and gelato at top of va!ence to hang behind the curtain rod, also for each side of curtain apply Velcro to side of van and Velcro to each side of curtain at window bottom level,. I've done that and its more privacy and cozy. You've done very good, I like your shelves set up, gave me good idea for my van. Have you ever seen "just rowan" blog. Slot of great ideas, so homey. Glad you feel better with your setup. Take care, enjoy your travels.🍂🍁👍🤓
Deborah, somehow I came upon your channel and then watched a few more. , So I found you in a van but then went onto your car days. I am staying with a friend while I built out my 2012 Ford Transit . It s the baby one, small but I love it. I am in Florida, and so far have traveled only in my state. I'm looking forward to expanding further, but so far I haven't done that. I'm a senior female , not much family left, on my own , not complaining. I've subbed to your channel so I can keep up with you. Good luck .
@BarbraJoan-c4i Thanks so much 🤍 I considered a ford transit connect also. They are super cute and I'm sure would be fun to build out. There are so many options. Finding the right one for you is half the work Thanks for subscribing and following my journey 😊
You could take that board that you put on the floor and add some folding legs to it so you can have it higher when your using it because I imagine its hard on your belly to use it on the floor. have it so the legs recess into the wood to save space
Hi, love your video and your new van. Suggestion for the bottom of your blackout curtain is to pick up a tube of speedsew and do a fold and glue. Speedsew is washable. Looking forward to your future videos :)
Have you seen the Wathier bed designed by Nick Wathier? He has a you tube video. Lots of people have built it with a few adjustments. Its a great fold up , sofa bed. I built something a bit similar but not hinged. Just 2 pieces of ply on legs and brackets and they slide one over the other as sofa mode and then pull out onto the middle support and pop a bolt down a hole for bed mode. Very simple and far less building than the Wathier bed.
Everything you have in there looks very organized as is! I like how it is set up now, but look forward to see how your other ideas come to fruition! Also, I think I noticed that you have temperature controls on the ceiling between the front seats. You might very well be able to turn on/off your heat from that control in the back. I have a 2014 Toyota Sienna and am able to do that. It unfortunately took me longer than I would have liked before I noticed it 😂, but it is a lot better than having to make my way all the way up to the front panel in order to turn it on.
I’m getting ready to take a trip down south in my new van. It needs “break-in” miles and I hope to try an extended stay(maybe 10 days) I hope you can do your “nomad travels” soon! We’ll see if I can put to use the tips you’ve given!
It's coming along!! You can use a couple of pipe cleaners to hold your curtain rod up. Just twist around the holder and rod to hold together. Or my own fav - rubber zip ties. You can cut them to size with a small wire snips. Just an idea!
Did you change your bed area from the street side to behind the driver's side??? Love the set-up except for the change of the bed area behind driver's side . . . if you're 'stealthing' in the City, being side-swiped by a drunk or distracted driver could prove more fatal than if you're sleeping up against the side-walk side . . . ????
Its a proven fact whatever weather is outside takes up inside if not colder you're probably acclimated to the weather, so you're not as cold? Ask somebody wood who's that because this steel gets cold, my jeep is in a shed and i'm in it and it's still cold, so I know it's still cold in that car, your body is just acclimated to the weather, so you don't get as cold as you used to

Would it be helpful to remove the headrest on the driver's seat to allow you to use your upper body with more room?

You might have holes drilled in both ends of the curtain rod and zip tie it to the black rings.

I use these turned sideways
I can’t show the pic. They are for holding broom handles mop handles shovels etc, but turn them perpendicular & they’ll hold curtain rods .

Just a couple of little hair bands next to the rings should stop them slipping. ❤
Sorry I had spell check on. While commenting, haha, it spelled some wording goofy. Valence, and Velcro not gelato👌
