I remember my mom telling me that we waited in the queue for so long, and right as we were about to get on, I piped all over her.
The ending to this ride is a little unusual, but, I think we'd come to expect that from Alice in Wonderland.
Classic ride... no crazy effects, just the simple charm of the characters and settings. Wish I could go on it now! :-)
The cards scared me, so I would close my eyes throughout the whole thing.

I've been to three Disney parks and somehow this is the ONLY ride that makes me dizzy. All that twisting and turning is a little much for my head. But it's so charming and so much fun I always have to go on it! :)
Aw, I wish I can someday go to Disneyland and see this for myself, I've been a massive Alice fan since I was a little girl but traveling to Disney is way too expensive, even for an adult. I just hope an opportunity gets here someday.

I really love this ride, as Alice in Wonderland is my favorite Disney movie. There's a lot of attention to detail, like how they're able to fit a lot of plot points from the movie into the ride
I MISS THIS VERSION OF THE RIDE SO MUCH. i was at the new orleans station at disneyland waiting for the train and i overheard a guy talking about how he worked on the new projections down the rabbit hole and i had to run to trader sam's for a drink before i curb stomped him on the tracks.
When I was young, the Cheshire Cat used to scare me (because of his grin) and one time, I had a dream that I was in this ride the night after I watched this video and I saw the Cheshire Cat and I woke up sweating and I could barely breathe because I had my head in my pillow
I remember going on this ride when I was a kid. Fun!
One of the few memories I had when i was a kid with my mom.
I must have been about 8 years old. I cried and was so scared thinking I was high off the ground.
Tickets were under $10 then.
Too bad life can't be so carefree and entertaining.
All the division, bad actors, and now a war are just a downer.
I grew up in Lompoc near Santa Barbara. Now retired looking back to my youth.
Disney tickets under 10… we paid around 400 for our last visit
This ride could've been so much more interesting. Alice in Wonderland (1951) has so odd & bizarre scenes that weren't included, here...
They made it a "baby ride." This looks like a ride for "6 & under." This ride should be a lot cooler considering all of the stuff in the movie.
They should've made it more like a Funhouse that you ride through. I guess they had to leave something for the babies. Afterall, it "is" Disneyland...
I would like to say that as a young child, this ride TERRIFIED me. Watching this as an adult, I suspect I'd still find it pretty scary in person. Everyone has their own opinion, of course, but I really don't think this qualifies as a "baby ride"... I find it wonderfully disturbing and surreal, very in-keeping with the tone of the film.
Yeah, It seems unfinished to me, It could be better.
It was made in 1958. The technology was air pistons to move figurines up and down.
Oh, and to add, the original version of the attraction was called by many a "rideable funhouse"

As a child the flowers in the film would scare me to death.
Last year, when I went on the ride I began to scream in fear
when the singing flowers showed up.
Everyone thought I was joking but I wasn't.
When I was little the Mome Raths would scare the ever living crap out of me

Let the kids choose their favourite Disney Parks souvenirs!!! When the kids are very good, then they deserve more souvenirs. Every good behaviour kid should have 1-2 bags of Disney Parks souvenirs: plush toys, toys, mini figures, bubble blower, Mickey ears, t-shirts, jacket, drinking bottle, and some pins or magnets and etc. Please buy only those Disney Parks souvenirs, what the kids very want!!!! I know many Disney souvenirs are very expensive, but when the kids are very good all the times, then sometimes they deserve these things!!! Please be kind parents and make Your kids very happy with these Disney Parks souvenirs, what the kids have chosen and don’t say NO all the times, when the kids very deserves those Disney Parks souvenirs for good behaviour!!!

I remember doing the Snow White ride that's like this one. But why is the Unbirthday tea party at the end?
It used to be elsewhere in the ride, but with the 1983 Fantasyland refurb, they lengthened the ride and added the scene at the end. Before, you just took the outdoor leaf section all the way to the end.
+Sergio Meza Yeah, it reopened in '84, but that was just because of a delay. The refurb was part of the planned Fantasyland redo for '83.

I’m going on this ride for the first time in April and I’m really excited but I feel like they shouldn’t make it go outside and go back in because it kind of takes away the feeling of being in “wonderland”

It’s a dark ride so they don’t do that most adults don’t like to go on these type of rides for like Alice in Wonderland and stuff so they just made it no drops hope this helps :-)

The "safety additions" outside really take away from the charm... ugh.
lol that leaf part was very open and near the edge, and many people were nervous about that part, but I agree its Totally ugly now.

They didn't destroy it they just upgraded it....

I think the old ride's premise was you to be Alice's POV
Well originally, all the dark rides in fantasyland were to have guests experience the attraction through the story’s main character, which is why Snow White wasn’t seen in Snow White, Peter Pan wasn’t seen in Peter Pan and Mr Toad wasn’t, well you get the idea, eventually applying to Alice in wonderland as well. Unfortunately only Mr Toad was able to make the concept work, as guests were driving his motor car as seen in the film. All the other fantasyland dark rides, meanwhile, never really gained traction of the whole “POV: you are the main character” narrative, and received frequent complaints because of this.

Though I wasn't thrilled about how fast it goes I think I'm a different way it really brings out the wild trippy effect of wonderland the absolute madness of it all. There's so much going on in wonderland that it just doesn't give you time with something new and odd popping up every minute your in wonderland. But the leaves and trail really make that madness fade towards the end of the ride. Wonderland is supposed to be a place away from reality and the leaves just give you that taste of reality that disillusions the thought of being in a place of complete curious madness, the ride should definitely be without them if they want to achieve the true madness of the beloved wonderland we all know and love.
i still love this ride i remeber i was a little upset when they added more to the leaves trail but they had to because i guess it didnt meet safety requirements or something like that

everyone has 1 birthday a year which leaves 364 unbirthdays. to understand the ride better, reading Lewis Carrol's original story helps a little bit. I am convinced though that he was on drugs of some kind when he wrote the story and it's sequal "Through the Looking Glass."
lilgiggler35 actually no he was not on drugs he made up stories for the three little girls one of them was named Alice and Alice liked it so much she made Lewis Carroll write it down Into a book and that’s how Alice in Wonderland was born
