My local line is now called the Windrush line but I will still refer to the line as either “East London Line” or just “London Overground” or anything other than Windrush
I was on the Weaver Line earlier today and it didn't updated the announcements on Class 710s at the time of writing this its still says "This is the train to XXX" I would imagine they will update it soon.
Imagine new announcements for the Jubilee line on Canada Water by Sarah Parnell. "The next station is Canada Water. Doors will open on the right hand side. Change for the Windrush Line"
I really do not like these new names, since they no longer relate to the route the line follows, which I think is a highly important detail for travellers. At least the tube line names have some relation to the places they travel through.
The names of the tube lines actually make sense for example the Victoria line goes through Victoria and the Bakerloo line goes through Baker Street and Waterloo so that actually makes sense unlike the overground line names which are just nonsense and a pure waste of money
Over £6 Million for names that literally nobody asked for... Could've used that money to improve the network... Plus I can't help that the names feel like a slap in the face for the Windrush Generation ngl. Damn.
Well its more of a publicity stunt than anything else. The names aren't authentic if it were to keep the names thats ita know by it would make sense like.. This is the East London, London Overground ground service to x so on And they lotreally change the voice actor for the trains. Litreally all they needed to do was change the service then its non essential announcments updates.. what a waste of money
@@Matty12333 I don't have a problem with the names because it's "woke"... I have an issue with it because those lines already had names for those branches, that has been known by many others. omd its bc people were asking to change the name of the tube lines and sadiq khan said yes now it gonna be slightly confusing for other people to figure out the way round the tube lines
Overground and Underground are two distinct networks with identifiable lines bold and double colours. Did you notice the Elizabeth line is double purple lines the tube map but solid purple on the Elizabeth lines network map.
This is laugh out hilarious, I cant even comprehend how ridiculous normal things have become first First 2000s Kids TV took over Jaguar & now this London is offically finished
No, the title is a bit deceiving. The *"Highbury and Islington to New Cross/Clapham Junction/Crystal Palace/West Croydon"* route, *or the "East London line"* was rebranded the *"Windrush line"*
I'm pretty happy with this tbh. Can get used to the names (Goblin will be tough) and the colours are definitely a nice change. I understand but don't appreciate all the whining over this change.
Many fellow train nerds tend to be very hardened in terms of change. I don't like the names per se but also don't really have a problem with them. I think they're.. meh. Like you said, fine. (Also ppl who don't have strong opinions against something tend not to be vocal about it. Aka the twitter effect)

I’m gonna call the Windrush line the East London line as long as I live.
Thank you! 👍🏿🙌🏿😎
Honestly! 💯
Yes same here!! ELL!!!
Same here

They should’ve called it the Brunel Line

whats wrong with north south east west London lines? they're very suitable names and they make sense for where they are
First we had jaguar rebrand and now this ? 2024 is finished
😂😂
I dont think this is as bad as the jaguar rebrand 😂

@ Exactly. As you said, the branches already had names, known by so many. East London Line, North London Line, Watford DC, Lea Valley Lines, etc.
Imo, they should have done it years ago...
@@Mike-77-YT Not at that price.

This one is better line than the one we had all these years. It seems faster too. Before it took edges to reach destination. This is good.
I don't know how to feel about the new names...
They’re unnecessary imo 🧐
I dislike the names of Overground lines
tell yourself thst these new names are shit

Windrush Line Class 378
Yay new names which suck
I second this! 💯

I think it’s stupid to rename all 6 London Overground lines and giving them different colours with white lines in the middle. But oh well.
Ima still call the maldmay line the west London line
I mean its only 'West London line' between Willesden and Clapham, the rest is the 'North London line'

I bet TFL just wants more lines on the network, so they are renaming routes.
I find the names of these Overground lines to be way too melodramatic; I would much prefer low-key names.

The only good name is the liberty line
