      Buddhism, Hinduism, and Taoism, have contemplative techniques to solve every problem, and gain every type of knowledge. The wisdom in the dharmic religions is vast. Christians and muslims follow a demonic death God, that uses them as pawns to convert the world, and gain followers. They have no contemplative techniques, and nothing unique to offer at all. Believe in a book, worship a worldly deity for favors, and convert the world. The end. They do not lead to the same place. They aren't even trying to go to the same place. They have completely different goals.

    God, or whatever we can call this entity, I believe, manifests himself in infinite ways in order to benefit his infinitely varied devotees. As long as I hold onto doubt, in whatever way I am doubting, I can't see his influence in my life. However, if I can muster up even the tiniest ounce of true belief, or faith, or trust, or whatever you want to call it, then his influence can become clearer to me. If I can hold to this faith steadfastly, letting it grow and deepen moment to moment, and "clear the channels of faith" as Rennyo said, letting go more and more of doubt-motivated action (which you may call "self-power"), then this positive influence which is guiding me and protecting me in my life, which can be called by many different names, and which can be portrayed by many different images, becomes ever clearer in my mind as time goes on. Thank you John. Very great.
    I have a question about the pureland way which I hope you can illuminate. You mention myths and positive illusions... Would you say these terms are related to the pureland?
    The reality of life exists even beyond all thought and since compassion and wisdom manifest true suchness this would mean that the pureland truly does exist since we live in a compassionate reality (e.g things die so that we may live...etc), so through the power and faith in Amida and the primal vow, we wholeheartedly and sincerely realise and have the purest form of compassion/love/happiness since it truly does direct us straight to the stage of non-retrogression and to belong in the pureland during and after death since what we percieve in this life cannot begin to comprehend the immense love and truth of where you can direct your birth towards.

    • @namoamidabuts
      @namoamidabuts  Год назад +1

      I actually have a sense that you have answered your own question. While we cannot conceive with our dualistic thinking mind the full implications of the nature of the Pure Land, I think you have done a wonderful job in using words to come as close as we can to describing it, and the dynamics leading to our Birth there. I really appreciate the way you have expressed your understanding. I believe that others who read this will benefit from what you have shared. -John

      @@namoamidabuts Thank you John. Do you have anything to add at all? Have you made a video of your backstory and how you found Amida?
      We belong towards the pureland in this life might I correct myself and we then are born in the pureland when we die as we are being directed towards this reality with thanks to Amida and the masters, bodhisattvas, Sangha and everything else. Gratitude is an essential

    • @namoamidabuts
      @namoamidabuts  Год назад

      Below is a link to "my journey". Yes, based on the interpretation of Shinran, we are born in the Pure Land when we die, and immediately then become a buddha, with the ability to come back into this saha world to compassionatley help beings to be relieved of their suffering. And yes, in this life, gratitude is the primary sentiment. It is what we feel when we say the nembutsu, and is also why we say it, that is, to express gratitude for being accepted just as we are and for being embraced, never to be forsaken.
