Wow! There is actually an easier way of dispatching chickens. I was doing it the way I saw my parents do it years ago which was always so messy. And that plucker is an amazing machine! Thanks Moussa.
Thank you so much for doing this video! My husband and I are doing our first ever batch in a few weeks, and it's a bit sad. I don't want to mess anything up and needlessly hurt them or prolong their pain, I want it as quick and as stress free as possible for them. This run through you provided made me so much more confident. I've helped in the process, but never been on my own before, I'm ready now though! Thank you!! 🤗
You are welcome! I found it difficult the first time as well, which got better the more I learnt. P.S. The older they are, the more they may move, but this process was far more humane than what I have seen people do!
I really appreciate your calm straight forward way of delivering this information. I am getting ready to dispatch my first batch and this was very reassuring that I can do this. Thank you
Thank you! I remember my first time as I was being shown the old method. It was overwhelming and not in a good way. Due to the rain on the day of filming this video, we were in a hurry, and I didn't get to say everything I needed. Just be mindful that the older the chicken is, the harder it is to dispatch. But take comfort that this method is a very humane way of dispatch. Just take your time, and it gets easier the more you do it, and it really helps having someone with you.
Hi Moussa, I found your video on dispatching chickens very helpful as I have tried to dispatch chickens in the past and found them to be very tough. Your step by step method has helped me to understand where I was going wrong. Thank you, Peter B!
It really works the best and is the most humane! Good timing, we are having a live chat in just under 4 hours today if you would like to join us which is 10am Sydney time. Hopefully the time suits you. Thanks Annaka ruclips.net/video/67iQaKJrgEo/видео.html
@quantumhomeimprovements my son and I are going to get rid of 4 roosters today who are fighting and bullying all the others so this video really helped. Thanks again 🍻
Thanks Kezzamalezza, as kid I saw my dad do it, God rest soul! which was the hard way. I learnt this technique from others which helped me feel more comfortable about it! How did you find the process compared to what you were shown?
I enjoyed watching this and learnt so much. Did you previously manually pluck the chickens before you had a machine? We dress rabbits, perhaps you could demo that one day?
Yes we did do it by hand in the beginning and it takes so long. In fact Mr Vulcik was the first to introduce the idea to me breeding chickens and he help us also in learning how to dispatch them. Let's see how we go with rabbits. I will talk to you more about that when we get a chance. Thanks Danielle
Thanks Moussa, i have followed you 4 part series and currently am on step 2 (I bought the chicks so skipped step 1.. :P) the chickens are healthy and we get organic eggs not, I'm in the process of upgrading their coup to be partly mobile. Dispatching might be a later step too.... Thank you for your awesome knowledge and easy to follow steps.
Thanks for the comment Rose. A friend of mine recently said the same thing, but they gave me pointers on how to do it properly. Unfortunately, he pulled a bit too hard, he said, and made a mess of it. However, I will try it next time.
as i child watched the odd chickens run around with no head and my fox terrier having fun chasing them which made me feel very bad after my dad killed them. wow never seen a plucker machine
Yes, this way is humane, and the plucker takes it to a new dimension! I am very happy with my machine, it was a good investment for sure! The faster you clean the chicken after dispatching and place it into cold water, the tender the eat will be, which is paramount!

There is always a better way and it's very human! Thanks for the comment Renato

I am very happy to help thanks Louise/Peter. I appreciate your message.
Awesome step by step video, i really enjoyed it😀
Thanks Xiaoming, I really appreciated your help in making the video! Maybe next time we can do it on a sunny day! 😆
*Best dispatching* … yummy chickens too
Yes, it is good quality meat! Thanks Nugget
I am glad it's you doing it and not moi! Bon appetit!
Thanks chicken!
Thank you I appreciated the clear instructions on where to make cuts

That de-feathering machine is incredible, very efficient.
How about Mick cleaning skills! He is very impressive!
Thanks Marcel
Good stuff 👏 👍
Thanks Jason

Thanks again 🍻
@jasonevans977 Great, the secret is to let them relax in the cone for a few minutes and become docile! Cheers
Will definitely try these techniques when dispatching my chickens
Thanks Joe!
Moussa, as a little kid of about 7 or 8 or 9 I ised to take care of this job. Axe with a chopping block and hand pluck with a painters bucket. KJ

I found it easier to remove the leg prior to using the chicken plucker, but that may be because of my Yardbird plucker. 6:56

That is great news Roshee! Thank you for letting me know.
That's an excellent idea! But why throw away head, feet and wing tips? In Africa we eat everything except feathers and nails.
Thank you for sharing. I believe they do the same in a lot of parts in Asia. That is very good.
why not do a cervical dislocation? it is quicker and more humane.

Why remove the wings and the pope’s nose?
There isn't much meat in both part but I know some people see is it as a cuisine!
Hey mussa .W hi at the hell are you doing.
Hey Darren, just being self sufficient!
Cone is still gory💔, but at least the 🩸 is drained.
