The Tom King Darkseid War one-shot, one of the Guy Gardner Warrior issues(maybe the christmas special?) and that Alan Moore issue with Mogo. Also, you can do a Omega Men Back Issues if you want to wait on Vision to see if that new one not by King will be good or not

Bendis can't even keep to his own continuity (and he doesn't know who Shuma Gorath and Chthon are), and the creepy undertone of misogyny in Bendis' robotic writing of Wanda is the reason Alan Heinberg ret-conned the Doombot. The point Heinberg is making is that Bendis writes Wanda like a brainless robot. Likewise, Dan Slott had Chthon brutally mock everything Doctor Strange said in Disassembled , in another pointed dig at Bendis. Chthon's words are clearly directed at Strange AND Bendis. Bendis tried to remove Chthon, David Sexton (Marvel Tarot), Dan Slott (Mighty Avengers) and Jeff Parker (Mystic Arcana) put him right back in.

Batman proposed to Catwoman like a year and a half ago, they built this up like this was the surest thing ever, and then YOINK. And then Tom King has the audacity to go on some interview and apparently say "I mean, really, the wedding storyline is all the way up to issue 100". Nah. Batman is the worst one here by a WIDE margin, because it wasn't ever meant honestly and then retconned into a lie later, this was something they spent like 30 issues actively lying to the audience about on purpose, and clearly not to make some grand statement, but to make money off the hype. Oh, and for the record, Tom King, Batman is more interesting when he isn't totally defined by edgy bullshit like I MUST BE MISERABLE OR ELSE I CAN'T HELP PEOPLE.

No. Tom King was all in on the push as well. And the marketing doesn't excuse the poor lead up to this issue. He doesn't get to say that the first 50 issues will be good after reading the second 50 issues. Issue 50's story fell flat after promising to be so much more. It deserves the panning it got. I love the art, and I loved 95% of the run up to the issue (I Am Bane being the exception), and then Tom King threw a bunch of cop out story beats in issue 50. And to make things worse, he just drops a final page reveal that makes absolutely no sense. No one bought a $4.99 Batman wedding issue to see Bane make a cameo.
Alex Maleev art can either be really good or just look like edgy Tom Goes to the Mayor to me. His style really started to annoy me in his run on Daredevil.
Batman 50 turned me off to batman so much that it's the first time I dropped the title in 15 years. I just don't like kings batman at all... The bendis book i thought was really good at the time. It doesn't hold up because of retcons but still was a good book.
It's especially shitty because like if the wedding had actually happened I would have considered this Kings second "classic" story after War of Jokes & Riddles It's ESPECIALLY shitty because this arc immediately following the wedding arc is awesome so far Still though like every Snyder Batman story is a classic and King has two at most assuming this arc pans out it's buckwild
