This was the first video that introduce me to Hodan Naleh, you were an inspiration to me and so many people, you are missed and you will never be forgotten, may allaah reward you with paradise. RIP Hodan Naleh 😭😭😭
Hodan Your programs make me tear up everytime i watch them . Honestly its such a shame that im 21 years old and ive never been in our homeland. Growing here in nothern europe and feeling the racism and being from another culture and religion is what makes me even more excited to go back to somalia. Im so happy to see our homeland getting rebuilt againg. First of all Thanks to Allah and thanks to our turkish brothers and sisters for their effort. And hodan thank you for being so inspirational and keep doing your amazing job. Lots of love!!!
+SomaliMuslimah, I think You should not regret and the reason is that you're at the prime of your age, think about what you can do for your country in the coming 5 years and beyond. Also, you have a good reason why you should not be ashamed, you were underage before, but the real shame comes when you graduate and you never realize that your soil needs you. Same applies to me, though I'm 24, I am about to finish my second degree, and then I am determined to change the lives of many for the better, through education, through honest awareness, telling them how the world works, convince them that there are better ways of living rather than eating one another, showing the real shame underneath, and so on so forth, so never regret, but plan ahead.... my thanks to you,
+5sos/1D , Yes indeed, it is common in life that a human being always needs a place to call home. Not just shelter but a real home. And this must be something which turns on your emotions as a human and that is what defines you as a person. You find that you become so attached to it for a number of reasons. One, your parents originate from there, two, while your parents narrate to you about the beauty of their home of origin, you start developing nostalgia and great affection for the place. However, some might suffer from identity crises just because they are easily discouraged by the physical things. While others say ;I am enough to set things right, and those are the real human' the rest are not. Be ready to be part of a large movement to rebuild our homeland. thank you
that poor lady works as a cleaner in a restaurant and she is pregnant. may Allah enrich her. And her mother who should be retired by now is working there too. may Allah help them. May Allah help my people.
This has to be one of the most inspiring works I have come across, pertaining to women & mothers. The vital role we play in society from birth to family unity and sacrifice, all the way down to the healer of nations. Please consider doing series like this about women and mothers, again. I have to compliment everyone who participated in this series. It is GREAT work!!!

Very informative and inspiring...i cant thank the gov of turkey, paricularly its predent Mr. Erdogan, enough. He is a man with unparalleled talent and his leadership style is rare commodity in today's muslim world. Now, it is up to us somalis to do the right things and focus on our future---rebuilding the country and finding piece in ourselves---or continue the war and the destruction. And for hodan, thank you for your wonderful and inspiring report. However, i hope you would consider wearing your hijab wherever you find yourself in and not just when you are in somalia because if you dont, you wont be able to represent the "real" somali mothers you were reffering to in a manner consistent with their long-standing tradition and believe. Thank you turkiye. Thank you integ tv. Thank you hodan.

Asc. Well Thanks to Ms. Hodan and the entire team. I can say You are a real patriot and we are ready to stand by you as you do this honorable job. It's very unfortunate that many of us uphold negative opinions about those who are determined to helping us but I am hopeful that through increased awareness via Integration TV and these determined professionals will change the parameters that our people use when judging matters. I thank You, also many thanks to the Turkish government, because they are committed to assist us to come back.
Insallah Somalia will recover and will be a modern country. Kick the western (neo) kolonialist people out. You dont need them my brothers and sisters. What did they bring to you? Bashiir Dheere Thank you! Together we can build a new media for all Somalis to see good and value the beautiful people and land they have! Not to mention the OCEAN!! #SomaliaIsTheBest
Enjoyed the episode, especially br Diini praising our mothers and their importance. We should be empowering our women, if for nothing else than for keeping our nation alive whilst the men did their best to acheive the opposite. That being said, i found it very interesting how when talking about how we should dress, Islam was not mentioned once. That mentality really scares me for the future, especially as more Western raised Somalis return home.
I agree completely. I am a western Somali and I don't see anything wrong with how most women dress in somalia, if anything we should be so proud that our women have such good hijab, but what Sagal said was right. Yes our deen tells women to have shyness and modesty but you shouldn't let your shyness get to an extent where you don't speak up and reach for the top. Anyway, thank you Hodan for showing us the beauty of our country. Would love it if you could go to galkacyo and show us whats popping over there :)
+Nassir Jama I didn't see it that way. What I got was that people are so focused on dress code, even if your covered top to bottom, and demeanor of the diasporian people is so judge that it's hard to tackle the issues that are in dire state. It's like if your already judge by your every behavior before you even start a conversation about rebuilding this or doing that...it's very hard for things to get down. They we're getting into a great point that women must be apart of this new Somalia, and they have been the "silent, unrecognized" backbone of the country. It's time for women to be invited to the table about these decisions because it affects them a lot. As far as the coming diaspora and dress code and things of that nature. If we are judge by the way we've adapted, and how our culture isn't the same as it was when we left the country, well that's not our fault. We adapted....we grew, and we changed because we had to. Asking youth diaspora's to throw away(culture, behaviors etc) everything they've ever known in order for them to go back to Somalia...is ridiculous and makes the youth not want go back or help Somalia. You know for most of them the only connection/tie they have to Somalia is their parents, so once they are gone....it will be the place they've never been to, and only ever heard of and doesn't hold much significant's besides meaning a lot to their parents. So I think they're has to be away for diaspora and the locals to meet halfway...and grow and learn from each other. If that doesn't happen, a few generations from now the people in diaspora will be people without a culture and identity....and the only tie they have to Somalia is that it's their ethnicity. And all of the remittance is gone because the diaspora people feel no accountability towards Somalia, and the locals. This is bad for both the locals, and the people of the diaspora.
+Hallie O. Well Hallie You're absolutely right. Not only ladies face this kind of challenge. For the part of dress code, ladies are confronted. We know that this wrong, peoples' privacy and dress code should be respected, But in the case of inconsistency with the Islamic teachings, polite remembrance of religious teachings on this matter is allowed, However, it should not involve embarrassing sisters or confronting them inappropriately. It should be done in the most appropriate way and diligently without causing any harm. Now, Ms. Hallie we need to remember that our people have been through a lot, some of them are suffering from psychological conditions but they don't know it yet, so they just keep complaining about everything, so when you someone addressing a sister harshly, claiming that she is 'naked, please don't judge, just understand and go ahead, our people have really went through something. Again, Imagine, our people have lost sense of reason, to an extent they don't know who is their friend and who is foes. Yes, I am speaking out of experience, and that is exactly what I came to realize, it is so sad but that is the truth, so please observe patience while dealing with our people at home.
saadick hurre Yes, I agree. There are many people dealing with trauma, and affects of the war, struggle, strife, etc. It's sad really, but the longer we wait to help ourselves the closer we are to the day that it will be too late.
