You've filmed on what looks like from Oz some very chilly days, so well done. The sequence at 16:19 of the train gently moving away from the camera was great, as were the snow scenes. You may not know unless you have monitoring software but you have a worldwide audience. I wouldn't be alone in wanting to travel to the UK to complete my coverage of main and some branch lines, and travel on more heritage railways than the three I've done, and perhaps a WCR special as these seem (unlike Saphos) to not always have diesel assistance in the rear. I gather Vintage Trains may also be good like this. I prefer no diesel but apparently Network Rail sometimes require it, or there's no generator car attached for Pullman car doors/aircon. I've never understood the fascination of renaming/renumbering loco 5699 (45699) Galatea as either 'Leander' or 'Alberta'. Why not just keep it as its original number and name?
Well Mr Carew thanks for the comment as always. Let me clear up with the jubilee side of things. 45690 Leander is preserved in her own right but sadly didn't get out to play this year caz of the pandemic & the history with 45699 Galatea she does carry some of the remains of the original 45562 Alberta such as the coupling rods for example. It was down to the owner David Smith to decide weather or not to renumber & rename his engine which at the end of the day it's the owners decision as they make the last call. Diesels on the rear of the trains like on the saphos working are a gd help as they can do things that steam locos can't such as the central locking on the coaches in the MK2's but now thanks to Locomotive Services LTD central locking on the MK1's are now starting to appear. Loco Services does have a generator van that can do central locking but it's not available for the time being. Vintage Trains will make a comeback in 2021 as they didn't want to make a loss since they are only brand new to operate their own trains.
@@harnettyrailways Great info, thanks. I and others who are Catholic are praying for you all, as unfortunately UK is far more badly hit - at this stage - than Oz.
Great captures and nicely presented. Regards, John
