The hit on Martinook was clean to me. He lost control of the puck as he approached the blue line, looked down to find it, and the D-man just stood up at the blue line. He hit him with his left side (shoulder and hip), it is just unfortunate it caught his leg, and if you want a whistle then go get the puck.
Yeah. Clean hit and no whistle because that's the rule.
Seems like any hard clean check is not acceptable anymore.
He stuck his leg out, players get fined for that.
I'm never gonna get sick of seeing the original red jerseys on the ice! I hope the Canes wear em in the playoffs!

Save for Boston, and maybe Dallas to some extent, I don't see any other team right now whose 3rd & 4th offensive lines and 3rd defensive pair contribute as much as the Canes do wether it ends up in goals or not. Seems to me Rod and his team are probably the best in the league atm at balancing times on ice for everyone and keeping the top guys in good fitness thanks to this. Makes them lose a game or two (or 3 maybe, ok) every once in a while but it seems they've properly understood the importance of keeping some gas in the tank ahead of the playoffs while some teams like the Oilers or the very physical but so stereotypically boring tbh Flames for instance don't seem to care for any of that very much, if at all.

Jets goalie was out of position on that shot, he's cheating the short side, nice shot but he's gotta be in a better position, left to much space there.

Announcers are real homers for Carolina , ruined the whole coverage...
Well, it's their broadcasters so...
They’re the Carolina Hurricane announcers. Every team has their own announcers lol
Forslund and Tracy were the old pair, the Big Rig is now the main play by play but I miss John. He currently announces for the Kraken and delivers the very same cadence on plays- fairly too I might add. He shows equal excitement for both sides when a great hockey play is made. Canes former radio announcer Chuck Kaiton was similarly fair. Trip Tracy is pretty homer-y, but I enjoy his oddball commentary and goalie's perspective.
I hear that Boston has a pretty fair announcer...
