@Mickael What happened is that the game has this online system of trying to disarm nukes from bases in a online system. To MASSIVELY simplify stuff, The goal is to go to a enemy's base and take out the nuke along side with all the online players but there's a unknown almost endless among of them so nobody really knows for sure when it was all gonna end. But it finally DID end for the ps3 version as all online players found the nuke and disarmed them. The reason this was done was to teach an important lesson on how bad nukes can really bad and we as humans have to take them all down or else they will take us down. All nukes in games and in real life has to go. That's the importance of the scene.
You are above even Big Boss...On behalf of the anti-nuke gang I herby I award you the title of, "The Man who Sold the Word"..You, are a true peace keeper.
This is far too heartwarming. I'm glad this has happened in a virtual world, at least. This way, when the next civilisation takes over, they'll know that we knew _what_ to do and, possibly, _how._ We just didn't manage to band together in real life to do the right thing.
theres no next civilisation. At least none that could find human traces - theres no easy to access fossile fuel left to be dug out by pre-fossile fuel methods, and since the only method of truly eliminating all human life, nuclear war, would logically also kill a majority of all other life it'd take more time for lower lifeforms to retake and then proceed to die everywhere on the planet than it would to erode every single structure on earth that can be connected to us without post-fossile technology.
Its a foolish thought. Withoit the threat of retaliation, there is nothing preventing ome nation from strong-arming the rest of the world under a nuclear fist. Its too late to go back. We already know how to make them.
The looming nuclear war is the biggest threat and deterrent this world has right now. i’d rather return to 0 because then anybody who would produce a nuke would be seen as the definition of exacting/plotting for war and could be sought after
Still remember getting invaded and being logged on at the same time - defending my base from this unstoppable super soldier... They stole EVERYTHING except my nuke. To this day, I wonder "Why..."
When I saw this happen I smiled and cried of joy I'm glad to be apart of the mgs community to all my comrades thank you for participating and showing that you care more about metal gear then konami ever will.
Soldiers understand the importance and preservation of peace better than anyone else. And they understand that peace does not come without sacrifice. There will always be wars to be fought, but what matters is making sure the "good" guys win, you preserve life as best you can, and secure peace for as long as possible.
@@galm14ever your absolutely right, the threat or nukes is ever present, but just their presence alone prevents total war. Its a double edged sword. But at least if war was to occur without nukes then the human race would live on. cant say the same when nukes get fired of.
Even if Chapter 3 ever existed, there's virtually no chance Konami will greenlight it's completion. So sadly, all we'll ever have of it's existence was that Lord of the Flies cut content/mission footage.
@VerumRex you were responding to someone responding to another person and i will tell you the same thing why are you telling me something i already know ?
If I recall correctly, according to the MGSV community manager: The online disarmament process is chapter 3. Mission 51 was not intended as an entire chapter, nor was its location intended to be explorable beyond that one cut mission (as the entire place would be burnt to the ground at the end). I might be misremembering, but I'm pretty sure that was his stance on things.
I've already gotten both the Deterrence and the Disarmament achievements, so Miller is free to bring the Pax Hamburgana to PC anytime, as far as I'm concerned.
kudos to those who stuck around this is just amazing :) Man I remember back when the game was still a ways out... I remember submitting a screen grab of an italian surgeon that looked like the one in the game's prologue based on a trailer... just remarking how they looked similar. The next day everyone from Verge to Business Insider, Kotaku, IGN... you name it. Everyone thought I knew something. I remember laughing my ass off at the stupidity of it, until some people found the surgeon's house location and family members, started harassing his family. After appearing on an interview on italia 1 the surgeon mentioned that this rumor "catapulted his exposure more than anything he's ever done, but it got dangerous for his family". He sent an official letter of concern our way through the italian police (i still have a copy). Later next week the surgeon appeared on an online stream that was pretty much all MGS memes, and he announced that he is suing konami for using his likeness without permission. He also sued them for defamation as people now thought his plans for the world's first head transplant was all viral marketing for MGSV. A Konami rep contacted the forum owner, who then simply told me "look at all the shit you're putting us through". For the next couple of years I still got nut jobs asking me what I knew about this conspiracy I wasn't telling people about. Some have went so deep down the rabbit hole unable to realize it was a goof. Always a huge fan of the games. I loved watching this conclusion, knowing somehow in Kojima's crazy MGS universe I managed to make it just that little bit crazier for a time haha. Was a fun ride, this franchise. Cheers.
We needed this, we truly needed this. Since being in quarantine people are playing older games again but they didn't want a world ender in our games too. Nice work Venom Snakes, your all pretty good... no, you were the bests.
Is this the first platform to accomplish this? Edit; please don't look at this comment's responses. I promise you it's not worth it. You could do much better things with your day. Just so that you know, the answer is "Probably, it happened on other platforms, but usually because of save editors and/or glitches"
there is an option to create nukes in the game. There's no real benefit to it and they can be stolen by other players but the option is still there. They can also be dismantled. This cutscene plays when no players in the game(per platform) have nukes anymore. It's been known about for a while but never achieved until now
After having off and on played this game for five years, rolling the sights and sounds of it around in my brain, it always felt special to me. I know it has its problems, but there’s something at the heart of this game that really sticks with me. I can’t put it into words. Seeing this happen after so long, it’s moving yet bittersweet, knowing how unlikely it is that our world could achieve this. But there’s still hope. We’re all Diamond Dogs.
@@Gadget-Walkmen He has Big Boss's memories, and I'm willing to bet at this point he still hasn't had the revelation yet, so I assume he's talking about the Joy.
That feeling when you beat the game on PS3 a couple of weeks beforehand, and not get to witness this. Thanks for archiving this though, and what amazing job to all you other Diamond Dogs on PS3. The Boss would be proud. o7
Kojima is a fucking genius. In the whole game you see open and closing credits with his name, every time you start a mission. At the end of this cut scene, however, you see the names of all the players who contributed to denuclearization. I understand this don't mean anything for the real world but that fact that he's symbolically recognizing these people tell you what his real goal is.
This game is a masterpiece, gotta love these little details... The fact that Kojima and Konami had that disagreement and the game lost part of the quality was so sad
Got to love all the hidden cutscenes. MGS5 is like a series of small short stories set before the events of the nes games. The main story ain't as epic but you really do build motherbase from the ground up taking months. You feel like you've lived there for years.
before the events of the msx game* Metal Gear games on nes are non canon, stories, gameplay and level design are very different from the originals on msx.
I still think this is the kind of game that has a heart. Built upon true and real existing threats showing us the twists of the human mind and thinking. This outcome of disarmament would be so good, it would show us we reached next level of existence that we are worthy for the future. Dialogs are so insanely detailed. I hope Kojima gets the rights of the game some ways.
If you are able to complete this event, you get an especial flag emblem of the Kojima logo I'm gonna tell you, is gonna be hard to get it on PS4, and don't even try it on PC
I stopped playing MGS5 The Phantom Pain almost 2 years, and yet there are still more content and cutscenes yet to be seen. That is how great this game is.
Don't even bother. The PC community is impossible to disarm, largely due to all of the mods and hackers that allowed the amount of nukes to swell to ridiculous numbers. You've got better odds achieving that on the PS4 or Xbone.
@Pye22 i'm quite sure this is not a matter of what platform is the best, it's simply a fact. Nuclear disarmament on PC might not be totally impossible, but with all the hacked FOBs around it will take an absurd ammount of time before being archived. PS3 community menaged to do this because they don't have to deal with as much hackers as PC players have to (that doesn't mean hackers don't exist on console too of course), while us PC players have them roaming free and untouched in a much bigger community, which makes it even easier for them to deny us this archivement.
Out of ethics or desire? Government Policy? Military strategy? No, we did it for a cutscene
Desire then.
Hope and "what if?" Wouldn't surprise me if real nuclear disarmament, if it happens, occurs for the same reasons.

@@olzhas1one755 the funniest thing to me is pc players (myself included) all got this cutscene when all the hackers had so many nuke hacked into the game it caused a stack overflow and appeared to the game code that there were 0 so it played.
Its kind of funny watching snake casually walk around with a javelin on his back during this dramatic scene
Best thing to happen in 2020.
CAVEMAN CRAZED obviously it’s just a joke
@Mickael What happened is that the game has this online system of trying to disarm nukes from bases in a online system.
To MASSIVELY simplify stuff,
The goal is to go to a enemy's base and take out the nuke along side with all the online players but there's a unknown almost endless among of them so nobody really knows for sure when it was all gonna end.
@Mickael No problem!
Kojima is a guy who thinks 10 years ahead in his games. brilliant!
@@slyseal2091 You're no fun.

@@MBOmnis I'd do that since I'm a completionist and always hated achievement that requires cooperation with another player let alone an entire region

Feels a bit odd to hear a lecture about non-violence and peace on earth wisdom from a mercenary organization
Much like how news can be obtained from the various late night comedy shows?
Particularly since the lecture pretty much ends with: keep it that way OR ELSE
Soldiers understand the importance and preservation of peace better than anyone else. And they understand that peace does not come without sacrifice. There will always be wars to be fought, but what matters is making sure the "good" guys win, you preserve life as best you can, and secure peace for as long as possible.
Isn’t the fact that nuclear weapons exist has kept basically all super powers from going to war because of the fear of escalation.... so
@@galm14ever your absolutely right, the threat or nukes is ever present, but just their presence alone prevents total war. Its a double edged sword. But at least if war was to occur without nukes then the human race would live on. cant say the same when nukes get fired of.

Imagine if the rumours were true and PS3 version got chapter 3?
Even if Chapter 3 ever existed, there's virtually no chance Konami will greenlight it's completion. So sadly, all we'll ever have of it's existence was that Lord of the Flies cut content/mission footage.
@VerumRex there's a reason he said "imagine" because its not going to happen
@VerumRex you were responding to someone responding to another person and i will tell you the same thing why are you telling me something i already know ?
Didn’t the PS4 version reach 0 nukes for a short time a year or so ago
If I recall correctly, according to the MGSV community manager:
The online disarmament process is chapter 3.
Mission 51 was not intended as an entire chapter, nor was its location intended to be explorable beyond that one cut mission (as the entire place would be burnt to the ground at the end).
I might be misremembering, but I'm pretty sure that was his stance on things.
How amazing how some of the topics on kojima game are still so relevant
The last nuke is in captivity. The world is at peace.
I'm sure there is a lot's of books and movies about the subject, but this shows how videogames can make the difference on the art.
Very true. With books and films the resulting path is dictated by the creator whereas in this instance the path was dictated by the players.
I've already gotten both the Deterrence and the Disarmament achievements, so Miller is free to bring the Pax Hamburgana to PC anytime, as far as I'm concerned.
Directed by Hideo Kojima
And soon....

Man I remember back when the game was still a ways out...
Cheers.

“Now disarm the 172 bombs hidden on the moon”

Got to love all the hidden cutscenes. MGS5 is like a series of small short stories set before the events of the nes games. The main story ain't as epic but you really do build motherbase from the ground up taking months. You feel like you've lived there for years.
before the events of the msx game*
Metal Gear games on nes are non canon, stories, gameplay and level design are very different from the originals on msx.

I have MGSV on PC installed right now. I have a job to do.
Don't even bother. The PC community is impossible to disarm, largely due to all of the mods and hackers that allowed the amount of nukes to swell to ridiculous numbers. You've got better odds achieving that on the PS4 or Xbone.
@@guamson8946 i can't even find fob's with nuke in ps4
@Pye22 Rent free.
@Pye22 I play on pc but it's true tho, modding isn't always good and cheaters are the price to pay for having it
