I’ve watched a lot of these videos and this one is spot on. Great commentary and loved your positivity. I’m planning a similar setup but hadn’t realised how much wiring would be needed. I guess the Arduino’s are to replace the interface boards which are normally required and very expensive from the various cockpit sites. Good Luck with it all, I’m very envious :-) Cheers Tony
Hi Tony and big thank you for the constructive feed back and kind words. There us a lot wiring, but theres probably more than needed, you could easily cut it down by missing out the breakout boards. And wiring the components direct to the arduinos.
hi ....greetings from greece...im doing the same but i observed that in the 8:26 min of that video you are testing the lights especially the landing lights....where do you go in the software to test it?in the mobiflight or anywere else....because i thought that wiring all the leds we must do all lights test...that how is that possible? please for me its importand...thank you very much....great work indeed...
Hello Jay, No i have not used one yet, but many many people tell me this is the way ahead! Just never got around to one yet due to my location. Kidn Regards Karl.
that's cool, looking to get my own setup. quick question, at the end of the video at night you have adjusted brightness of the displays screens. How did you do that? Normally they are screens behind there so did you manage that with the knob? Thanks!
Hello from Brunei, The screen brightness is done digitally via Promsim and and leobodnar card attached to a 10Kohm potentiometer. Its just a software dimming solution
Hello Gerald, the info can be found on the website, but in short, they are just 19" monitors which have been removed from there cases. Prosim then provides the software to drag the windows onto the screen to the required position. Hope that helps, Karl
Hi Karl, Thank You for all these fantastic Videos! Before I commit to building this is there any other program that you know of to be able to write the software for this? Prosim is just to costly for me :(. Also I am currently running X plane but am willing to change to alternate as well. Cheers
Hello, I've been watching your videos for ages now think they are fantastic would love a more detailed video on wiring arduinos tried to follow some of them just cant figure out what you are doing not to brilliant with electronics. Sorry to be a pest but which one's do i order and do you have an easy to follow wiring diagram thank you steve
Hello! Well id better check what monitors I have, as they are a complete mish mash and no two are the same. They all came from people who donated them as they were mostly broken. (faulty boards/power supplies/bad caps) I did the repairs which enabled me to have quite a collection of monitors. The two big ones are 19" widescreen dell monitors. and the one in the centre is a laptop screen 14" which I got off ebay with driver for 29.99GBP. If I lived in the UK, picking up old monitors off ebay for a tenner would be a great solution. All my monitors have been stripped out of there cases. Kind Regards Karl
Loving your version 2 build videos, is there any version 1 build info anywhere? Like where you got your MCP from or how you built it? Keep the videos coming :)
Hello Steven, great to hear from you and thank you for the kind comment. As for version 1, head over to my website, www.737diysim.com and there you will find the files I have. there's an MCP guide there, but unfortunately the original file has been lost when my computers were struck by lightening. I'm currently thinking if making another guide and video to build an MCP as it's really easy.
Yes of course you can, mobiflight has a good selection of preprogrammed items. But prosim is for the logic, displays and switches. It replicates the cockpit of a real aircraft, so every switch, dial etc works. Try it with pmdg, which is much cheaper or x plane using simvim instead of mobi

Yes I would like this too and also how to wire the annunciators
I see this is from 2 years ago. I'm wondering if you got somewhere in the meantime?
Very amazing works , but I want to ask about the glass instrument ( are you using Air manager software ???) or another program

I was wondering what software you use to display your flight instruments

Again a nice vid! Do you use leo bodnar cards with mobiflight?
For this project it was just leobodnar card. But i might switch to a combo in the next vid as i need an led output.
So you can use lep bodnar cards with mobiflight?
