There was so much snow in the image I thank the almighty I still have the bird.

Is this similar to a Robinson without flybar but with rotordisk able to tilt? Ps, I have a variable pitch quad (using tail rotors) and have put them into ducts while testing before holding a large scale x22 vtol. Getting direct drive multi blade large heli rotors is proving difficult. (700-900 size)

That could potentially work well for high speed. I have never heard of that terminology or that type of mechanism in model helis, however, Hanselit are very fast!
I could see this copter being used in close combat warfare. Slap an fpv camera and a latch to hold grenades. An experienced pilot could have a hay day.
@@dreams2reality410 this would be a extremely expensive combat drone. This heli cost more than most people’s car. Regular drones are better because they are cheap and easy to get. This a rare heli with only 65 ever made.
The local flying clubs here are starting to separate helis and fixed wing. Helis are just too loud, dangerous, they regularly crash, batteries ripped open from crashes, blades flying at high speed goodness knows where after crashes, etc etc etc. Each to her/his own so I suppose. I tried to explain to this crowd and just received a rather cool reaction. They are allowed so they get to play and the others basically have to leave.
I strongly feel that the US Military should employ an entire fleet of heli-pilots, if not simply for surveillance purposes. You'd hear this thing come in and 100 guys would be spraying the sky with lead and they'd have almost zero chance of making a lock on it.
I know we have drones(quads/fixed wing, etc), but are they specifically using RC Helicopters for anything? It would be pretty funny to watch the response to one of these in the field.
Having a goosky s2 and seeing the power that helicopter can put out with a little 7.5mah 3s battery, 16s just sounds crazy to me! Can't wait to see what it will actually do!😮
Thank you! So went 16s for a few reasons, one of course is powerrrr! 20k watts (if the gears hold it) two is amp draw, higher voltage is less amps and more power. Three is because I’ve never seen a TDS on 16s! lol
@@JeromeDemers there is no auto pilot, all manual control. Head is a locking head by centrifugal cones that spin out over 1600 RPM. Air speed sensor measures air speed. How fast it’s going.
@ GPS is great for speed but unfortunately these helis are full carbon and the GPS will not pass through the carbon gap it would have to go on the out side but that disrupts airflow and risk of it coming off. Pitot tube is true airspeed and not ground speed, just anther way to do it.

How does that work if you for some reason you need to do auto-rotation without the tail rotor being driven. (Near end of video w/ spool down)
