A lot of post-soviet countries became poorer after the collapse. It's also worth noting that there is widespread Soviet nostalgia in Moldova, despite operation "South". I guess author of the questionable post, according to whom poor Moldovan families were separated and deported to the wilderness of Siberia (despite in reality being deported mostly to Kazakhstan) are not one of the nostalgic ones.

@@cathal568 sure no worries. ‘Based’ kinda means like ‘legitimate’ or ‘ideal’ or ‘favoured’, or something between these three words. It generally carries a positive connotation. Based can be equated to the feeling that something is ‘good’ or ‘right’; you know something is based when you see it. It’s a feeling.
