The Jew - Who is this guy any way?

Some songs come easy some came with a lot of work. This one appeared almost intact in one play, then it needed years of massage. The lyrics say it all.
The Jew
He said I think I’ll make it rain
As he looked up in the sky
The sun so bright it made him frown
So he squints with just one eye
There were no clouds to be seen
Then suddenly I saw two
Two drops of rain grew to a storm
For this man they called the Jew
The storm that night out on the boat
All the fishermen were scared
The Jew he simply talked to God
Like no one shouldn’t have cared
The storm it quit the waves went flat
The whole damn sea grew calm
The Jew got up and he stepped out
And walked himself back home
Yea some folks said it’s mythic
Some folks say it’s all true
Some folks like to walk alone
While others walk with the Jew
Yeah I followed him there for a while
You won’t believe the things he did
He cleaned out the synagog once
As the salesmen ran and hid
The rabbis liked to test him
On the verses that they knew
They never quite could trip him up
This man they called the Jew
There was no end to the miracles
They were sick and sore and lame
Seemed like he could fix them all
By calling out God’s name
On the Sunday we ate with Lazarus
By Thursday he’d died
Next Sabbath we had lunch with him
While Mary broke down and cried
Some say it’s all magic
Or tricks he did with doves
But me I find it tragic
He could fix most things with love
Yea some folks say mythic
Some folks say it’s all true
The rabbi likes to say
We’ll never understand that Jew
But maybe is just epic
All the things that we could do
As for me I’m glad I got the chance
To get to know the Jew
