There's always the other spin of this plot, where the two are in a relationship, but the girl breaks up & ghosts the boy after the misunderstanding. Then they reunite years later then get back together after a few romcom moment. Ah, both dumb plots, but their saving grace is the girl's shocked faces. They are satisfying to look for some reason.

While doing this she makes Manaka believe that Sohma has a girlfriend or is close to having one. This mood of hers makes her think that the girl she sees with Sohma is her girlfriend and sets it all off. Luckily Manaka came to him one last time to tell him she would never go there again and she hasn't just stopped going there. Sato unfortunately doesn't know anything about this and therefore doesn't know that her actions almost caused their separation so she continues to behave with them in the same way. So I'm a little worried about the advice she can give Manaka. We can only hope that Sohma and Manaka continue to use their heads and not carried away by what Sato can make them think or suggest. #2 Sato certainly doesn't do it out of malice. But she seem isn't so experienced as to be able to help in extreme cases. Or at least in this story it seems to be the case. Things go well by pure chance.

I'm going to sound really misogynistic, but it's low emotional intelligence to assume women are both good communicators and think dropping hints to the "speak directly" gender is smart. My dislike of this story is people calling him insensitive, but not clarifying how. You can't expect him to get better unless you teach these skills. I missed tons of hints growing up, and never knew women express through hints cause I'd need someone to tell me they do. Romantic comedies don't even suggest it. Tell men how women express interest. Most may die alone simply because of it. And to suggest for the aid of women, if you want a guy to confess to you, make him not feel like you'd ridicule him for admitting his feelings, convince him to be confident especially when it's just you two, and be patient if he's having a hard time talking about something. Even joking that you'd accept his confession, even as a joke might get you a straight answer right away.
