How to enable Instant File Initialization in SQL Server

- SQL Server normally writes zeros to new portions of data files. Enabling Instant File Initialization bypasses this process, allowing for faster recovery, restore, and response. In this video, Microsoft Certified IT Professional Jon Seigel shows you how to enable this feature, and verify that it's been enabled correctly.

tnx a lot for your video, I got SQL Server 2012 installed on my Win 10, why I can't find the 'SQL Server ' instance in the
`local security policy - > perform volumn maintenance > advanced option > find now results window ?
+李哲 I haven't check the `group` option :(
It's done.
+李哲 The service is probably running as a service SID. If you go into the Services applet or Configuration Manager and look at the account the service is running as, it's probably something like NT SERVICE\MSSQLSERVER. Copy that name into the window and it should work.
