Children carolers have it on their arsenal during the Christmas season. The melody and lyrics are great and they really stick to their mind easily. Robert Labayen, the head of ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management (the assigned group that makes their summer and Christmas IDs), rewrote the song to be more inspirational in light of the aforesaid tragedies, recalling how he was "crying while writing [Star ng Pasko] on the roof deck." You can check some of the previous Station IDs (i think i saw a compilation of it). This is just the artists video. Just to answer you. That guy with a nice jaw line was a love team of Ylona Garcia. He was a teen actor/singer came out from a reality show same as Ylona. His name is Bailey May. He left the Phils to join Now United. A global pop group. He was there for several years. Now he is back in the Philippines chosen to be a mentor of a new variety talent search called Dream Maker, for the next Korean Global Pop Group in collaboration with ABS-CBN and MLD Entertainment of Korea. He may not be as good as Darren but he was chosen to be a mentor because of his experience in Now United. Darren and Angeline will also be a mentor of Dream Maker. It will air on TV next weekend.

TRIVIA: They have an original concept for the 2009 station ID, but it was revised after Typhoon Ondoy devastated Metro Manila. Robert Labayen, the head of ABS-CBN Creative Communications Management (the assigned group that makes their summer and Christmas IDs), rewrote the song to be more inspirational in light of the aforesaid tragedies, recalling how he was "crying while writing [Star ng Pasko] on the roof deck." Since the song's release, it is often considered the most popular Christmas station ID song in the Philippines, and from there on, Filipinos always look forward to and await the release of ABS-CBN's Christmas ID every year.
Among my favorite ABS-CBN Christmas IDs in terms of concept are the 2009, 2013, 2015-2018, and especially the 2019 Christmas ID, celebrating the 10th year of Star ng Pasko and the 65th year of ABS-CBN.
When ABS CBN drops their Christmas station ID. it's officially the start of Christmas season in the Philippines... every year it gets better and better.

EDIT: Okay technicqlly it was since 2002 but like...tbh i dont count them, 2009 was iconic and it became the format for future ABS-CBN christmas songs. There are two versions of it since like 2012, recording version and music video, to see everyone singing it would be in the recording version

Always been a fan of ABS-CBN'S Station IDs., especially during Christmas. Their songs appeal to all ages and status. You can check some of the previous Station IDs (i think i saw a compilation of it). This is just the artists video. I think my eyes will again bawl out when the official music video comes out. imagine what these people can create even without a franchise.

Just to answer you. That guy with a nice jaw line was a love team of Ylona Garcia. He was a teen actor/singer came out from a reality show same as Ylona. His name is Bailey May. He left the Phils to join Now United. A global pop group. He was there for several years. Now he is back in the Philippines chosen to be a mentor of a new variety talent search called Dream Maker, for the next Korean Global Pop Group in collaboration with ABS-CBN and MLD Entertainment of Korea. He may not be as good as Darren but he was chosen to be a mentor because of his experience in Now United. Darren and Angeline will also be a mentor of Dream Maker. It will air on TV next weekend.
