What is Totally Spies?
- Out to totally save the world without breaking a nail! Totally Spies! is a fast-paced, high energy action comedy show with a side of romance! Starring Clover, Samantha, and Alexandra; 3 Beverly Hills High students who unwillingly become international spies.
As secret spies, the girls must manage to combine their Beverly Hills High responsibilities with their spy duties, combatting super villains, and saving the world. Now at Malibu University, the story continues!

If they’re replacing jerry, I hate that idea, jerry is a part of the team, I know his character was in and out of retirement a lot but honestly, I liked the dynamic they had, jerry was like a grandfather, sometimes not understanding the teen world while glatis roasts him, there was a wholesome family dynamic

I suppose they wanted to squeeze in a little extra representation with an african american woman. I mean, I don't mind representation, but it's unnecessary this time, since we lose an iconic character

I remember the episode with Jerry pretending to take his retirement but there was the trap from Tim Scam pretending to be Mac Smith backwards. This was one of my favorite episode so far.
At last, I finally watched the new Season 7 in French and it’s totally amazing that the original French voices made their return as they’ve been voicing since the beginning of Season 1. 🇫🇷
Exactly, I can't be upset that they didn't bring back the english VA's since it's not the original language. It makes me happy the french version has the original va's for the project!
@@IAmZamber Yeah it’s such a pity that they didn’t do the same with the English dub. Only Sam’s previous English voice with Jennifer Hale was my favorite as it’s really close to Claire Guyot as French Sam. While Jennifer Hale used to also voice Mandy, Céline Mauge is still voicing Alex & Mandy in French. There’s a video where the original French voices of Sam, Clover & Alex have recorded all together at the same studio which is surprising that they can still do their voices many years later! 😮
Great to know that, love to add another show I can watch in French. Even though I'm not attached to the original English voices because I watched it in the Romanian dub, which changed their voices at least twice, and Mandys about 4. At that point I had no idea why characters sounded different from on season to the other, very confusing for tween me.

I guess they wanted Sam to sound older and went a bit overboard. I'm hopeful it'll grow on us, though. I'm more concerned if the new story will hold up. I guess we'll see.

I wish the Clarke siblings (Lee, Marc, Megan and Tony) from The Amazing Spiez! could return by making a comeback in Totally Spies! Season 7. It would be great to see them again.

@hkg7475 That's what the Totally Spies Wiki says. It's just mentioned in the trivia section for now, but the reboot has quite a few episodes lined up, so it is definitely possible.
So far, I'm not convinced.
If it is intended to be continuation of where we left off, they look and sound younger than they were before.

Even though it’s not confirmed yet it’s speculated that Sam’s new VA is Rachel Mcfarlane who is known for providing additional voices on Family Guy and is also the voice of Haley Smith on American Dad. There is speculation on Billie Eilish being an additional voice for Sam which I assume is a singing voice for her since they probably can’t afford Billie for every single episode. As for Mandy’s new VA it’s speculated to be Faya Mata who is known for playing Aqua on Konosuba among other anime characters. All of their original French VAs are returning though so that’s good at least.

Apparently its a soft reboot since they'll be Teenagers in High School (No longer Adults attending Mali U) and moving from Beverley Hills to Singapore, Sam will also be more into gaming.
They're still adults, it's a direct continuation from s6

I saw episode 1 in French it's a direct sequel.
The only reason I am sort of interested in this season is the setting which I as a Singaporean, will be interested in how be depicted. In fact, I did read a news article about this season on CNA which is dated 12 May 2024, three days before the new Singapore Prime Minister (the 4th Prime Minister in Singapore history) is sworn in (15 May 2024).

I really wanna see a return of other keys characters like Britney and Blaine, even include The Martin Mystery crew, Team Galaxy, the Amazing Spiez. Even Alice, Pam, and Crimson. LAMOS being added back to the rogues gallery. And it would be amazing if Britney and Mandy finally officially joined the team! Unless she’s get own team with Mindy, Caitlin, and Dominique. Heck even bring back Lara Croft.
What you said about Sams voice actor not returning makes so much sense, I am studying right now to become an actor and with all of the strikes that just now got resolved I wouldn’t be surprised if a bunch of voice actors signed with union if they could. Because becoming part of the union or SAG basically doubles, if not triples what you get paid so it’s a little more balanced since you have to pay your agent and your manager a smallish percentage, but still
Basically, if you stay nonunion, your career is probably gonna suck because you’re gonna lose more money than you get paid, and any kind of acting takes time, your time so I’m sure you’d want to get your money😅
Before Miraculous Ladybug, this was technically France’s best cartoon. So I wonder if we might get a crossover between the two successful shows like how Totally Spies did one with Martin Mystery, granted they were made by the same company.
Considering on Netflix how they got a crossover between two different anime with totally different animation styles (Baki the Grappler and Kengen Ashura) coming next month, maybe it’s actually possible to see a crossover between Totally Spies and Miraculous Ladybug being made. And France is so anime-crazy they might ask for it considering how their two cartoons are influenced by anime.

As for the new season itself, I’m more than accustomed to new voices in long-running shows for one reason or another. A bit miffed because of not wanting to pay union rates, but I blame more on the executives not giving them enough money on their budget to pay. The animation industry is in a tricky spot and what happens this summer may affect not only the future of this season but the medium itself.
I will miss GLADYS though I loved it when she got introduced to be Jerry’s foil. I am totally looking forward to what new missions the girls will get and what places they’ll go
Totally agree with you on everything. As a lot people already mentioned, they all look younger, even tho we're clearly getting time skip with more futuristic gadgets and even their spy suits have the pixelated design and the transformation is pixelated. And they also look younger because of the style, they had more like animate inspired style but also very western looking especially for the 2000's cartoon style, now they look more cutesy and even the animation is more moving, as then they had hand drawn everything, now it's the computer style where they do stay more on model.
I was bit skeptical ever since they first announced it, when I saw the first redesigns, where clover had almost identical hairstyle, just her fringe being clipped (which everyone hated but it looked cool) and they gave her more detailed hairstyle, which I wasnt sure about it at first, but seeing it in animation, it looks good. And sam was suppose to have pink ombre which looked cool.
idk how true this is, but I've seen that Sams & Mandy VA was on writers strike and that they didnt want to pay them enough as you mentioned, and like why?? The french version which is original, have all the same va. ALL OF THEM. And yea, Clover and Jerry do sound best, but Sam and Mandy...
Loving all the new characters, even tho Zerlina (the new head of WOOHP) is suppose to be Jerry's daughter? Was it ever mentioned? It was mentioned he dated in the past, but not him having daughter? I hope they will explain it fully. I saw info about her on the totallyspieshighglights insta account, not the official one.
I'm willing to give the new season a chance, but not fully convinced. I'm hoping it will have the 2000's style in fashion and interier tho!!

Eh… it’s just not the same. I prefer 2D Martin Mystery over the CGI one. It’s literally the Saints Row Reboot drama all over again 🤦♂️

Well I heard that the former was originally going to end after 52 episodes, with the episode "Take This Ed and Shove It", but due to popular demand, the show got renewed for two more seasons and a television film. The latter was canceled after its second season ended in early 2013, but thanks to a passionate campaign from YJ fans it ended up getting a third season that began airing in January 2019, followed by a fourth season that aired in 2021. I'm saying this because if Martin Mystery (TV Series) had popular demand or if the fans of Martin Mystery had started their own fan campaign then the show would've probably revived with a few more seasons.
Don't get me wrong I used to love totally spies back in the day and I still do. But part of me kind of wish they would at least bring back Angel's Friends. We never did see our favorite angel and devil get their happily ever after.

Does anyone know about the Ben 10 Alien Force episode "The Gauntlet" and the part where Ben's childhood bullies Cash and J.T. decide to mess with him by spilling his smoothie on his shirt? Well Ben was briefly tempted to go alien on them ... but then decides they aren't worth the effort and gives a "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Cash, remarking that he's been using the same tired bully material since they were in second grade, that Ben can't believe he was ever scared of him, and that while everyone else around them has grown up, Cash is still nothing but a sad, immature, and pathetic loser who has to torment others just to feel good about himself and getting applause from all his peers for doing so. I've gotta admit that was pretty smart yet awesome.
Ben: Y'know what? You two aren't even worth it. It's ridiculous! Can you at least try to be original for a change? You've been doing the same bully routine since the second grade, Cash. It's tired. Spilling my drink? Seriously, I can't believe I used to be afraid of you. Look around, Cash, we've all grown up. I hope maybe Sam, Clover and Alex will give their nemesis Mandy a "The Reason You Suck" Speech similar to that in any of the upcoming episodes of Totally Spies! Season 7. I'd love to see them talking down to that high, squeaky voiced brat like how Ben did to Cash and JT.
I'm also a little concerned but I'm going to give it a chance.

The VA of Sam also do Mandy. That's even more unique about Sam's VA, she voices both characters!
Currently rewatching the whole series and on Season 3. But you should react to the original sessons, just to hear Jennifer Hale, because she did good.
Not saying the new voice actor for Sam is bad, she's okay, but she doesn't give the vibe that Jennifer Hale did.
Plus I think the new voice actors are Mckenna Grace (Clover), Billie Elish (Sam), and Lennon Stella (Alex).
Hopefully, Sam's new voice will grow on us as this new season goes on. Other than that, I have high hopes.

I just don't understand getting new voice actors when this is supposed to be a continuation of the original show. Like it'd be one thing if this was a full reboot or something, but its season 7... so having them all sound completely different just doesn't work for me. Was originally looking forward to this but now ehhh.

My biggest issue is the larger eyes; it makes them look younger despite this being a continuation and not a reboot (as far as I know).

At least the original and longest French voices of Sam, Clover, Alex who also does Mandy & Jerry returned as I saw the French trailer and episode after 11 years of absence since Season 6 back in 2013. 💚❤️💛
When I first saw the trailer I was like oh they’re taking the amazing spiez type of art style but crank it up to 100. Because I remember amazing spiez having an anime comicy type of art style which was fun and they even had Alex Sam and clover cameo in an episode and they looked good in that art style. I’m glad I get more spy content it’s been forever. I’ve been watching reruns of both series that pop up on my YT feed every now and then.
I loved two things about Totally Spies back in the day. First was the animators putting the girls in different outfits each episode. It wasn't necessary but that extra effort showed how much they cared. The second thing admittedly was the fetish meme. It was fun to see what kind of stuff they could get away with each episode. So long as they keep at least one of those two things I will be happy with it.
I will consider watching this. I kind of zoned out at the tail end of the series, it started airing in my late teens. If I do watch it, it will be in the dub though.
Im probably gonna get hate for this, but im don't even care about the changes. Im just glad their back, and i can't wait to see them again.

I'm not too 100% on board with this especially because i grew up with the show and the animation really ages them down. They look super young, they sound young, idk... ill give it a chance.....
I was so hopeful. So excited. And I was pretty okay with the art style..........from the teaser image they shared....what feels like forever ago now.......but seeing the art style and animation style in action in a video teaser........yeah this doesn't cut it for me.

Honestly I am excited and worried about this at the same time. Changing voice actresses and the college could be red flags of bad writing and poor choices. Yet I do hope they’ll finally make Ariel from W.O.W. return (they still need to defeat and imprison her)
I like it but im not feeling the change in animation so stiff compared to the og😭😭😭😭 (Netflix does this to with their originals and I hate it lmao. It looks almost delayed, and like the screen is about to freeze😂😂)
Fun fact i grew up watching it in my country's dub that being Dutch and i actually really liked their voices in Dutch and thought they sounded even more diverse compared to the English dub so it's pretty crazy :0
I'm brazilian and most of the personality of the girls came from the voice actors job in here, I can imagine how frustrated you are because if this happened here I would get mad as hell, and I'm thanking god once more for making me brazilian
If you décide to watch it in another language you should watch it in French after all it's a Franco-Canadian show plus they kept the original voice actor for this version
It always makes me hiss when I keep reading it's a French-Canadian show. Canada has been contributing only for seasons 3 to 5. They are not even involved in this new season.

I have just learned that netflix lied to me as a kid, and I didn't have to end on the cliffhanger of them being kidnapped at the end of... what was it, season 2? I now need to find a way to watch the rest of the series that I never saw. ... somehow-
It looks okay. I’m always nervous when it comes to revivals. Sometimes they’re good. Sometimes they’re the FF-X continuation novel. Let’s hope this is the former.
They should've gone with a more tragic approach, like losing Jerry to a killer, move the attention span to an older audience (not mature mind you) & the girls would be up torn up about it while facing down the enemy responsible. Sound Better?

Actually, torn up before facing down the man responsible & rekindle after Sam wakes up from self healed brain bleeding and set out to find & protect Jerry's son from the dark spirit cult that was behind Jerry's murder & half sabotage of W.H.O.O.P.

Currently cooking up english subtitles for the french dub, cuz we are keeping the original cast and they're fantastic ! Tbh I never liked the english dub, and just the fact Mandy doesn't have her dedicated insult for the spies like the french dub was so disappointing.... Looser isn't original, bécasse was I'm sorry !
I can confirm, after watching the first episode, we are continuing right after season 5. And we're getting multiple outfits per episode. And there is continuity with previous seasons, and easter eggs! I've found the old Spies jeep from the early seasons in the Whoop's garage !
P.S : Season 6 originally aired 11 years ago, but since it was tempered by Disney, and we're continuing the story from the s5 finale (Jerry's taking a step back...), it's actually been 16 years...
Also very sad news, we're not getting the episodes in order this season...

Im very interested now the voices i love clovers voice like if we compared the original it sounds like her but more distinguish if that makes sense alex sounds pretty good definitely a grower but sounds good now sam im willing to give the chance but its a little too much girlie if that makes sense cause clover is supposed to be our "girl" of the group, Alex is the dorky cutie and sam is the brains of the group so i need to hear more but i agree with you, now what im curious if were gonna see classic villains returned or referenced like the hair dresser dude as well as other stuff cause i watched the amazing spies as a kid and loved these shows and they actually did a crossover with totally spies so and totally spies also crossovered with martin mystery so it be cool if we see them again or referenced

I only watched the german dub of this show, and the girls voices including mandy (maybe not Alex so much) sound EXACLTY like the german voices. It's kinda funny.
They probably don't expect the show to be as popular as it was before after a 10 years hiatus. That must explain why they decided to save some cash in case the new season is a failure.

Many series got stopped on a cliff hanger, could use a redo on storm hawks too but I suppose there's too many copyright issues there. Maybe we could atomic betty while we're redoing shows lol

Nothing wrong with it most kids did.
My main concern with the new season is that it might suffer continuity problems just like the recent season.
Season 6 is confusing because they're back to being spies and Jerry's back as head of WOOHP. It even had a lot of continuity problems along with the movie.
For instance, Alex's pet pig Oinky made his first appearance in the movie which took place before the start of the series, yet he appeared in several episodes of season 6. Also, while the girls share the same height as their moms in previous seasons, they appeared shorter than Clover's mom Stella in the recent one.
