EZE - THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MEDIEVAL VILLAGE IN THE WORLD - THE ELEGANT LIFE IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE
Saint-Paul-de-Vence can be seen from afar, with its medieval appearance surrounded by ramparts, at the top of a hill between the Mediterranean and the Grasse Pre-Alps.
Eze is a picturesque medieval village located on the Côte d'Azur between Nice and Monaco in the south of France. This charming village is renowned for its natural beauty and authentic medieval village atmosphere. Here are some of the most important information about Eze:
1. **History and Architecture**:
- Eze has a long history, dating back to the Roman period, and was first mentioned in documents in the 10th century.
- The village retains many of its medieval features, with narrow cobbled streets, stone houses and monumental gates.
- In the center of the village are the ruins of a medieval castle, built in the 12th century and destroyed in the 18th century.
2. **Jardin Exotique d'Eze**:
- It is an exotic garden located on the top of the hill, around the ruins of the castle. The garden offers an impressive collection of cacti and other succulents, as well as spectacular panoramas of the Côte d'Azur and the Mediterranean Sea.
3. **Overview**:
- Due to its elevated position, approximately 427 meters above sea level, Eze offers some of the most spectacular views of the region. From the top of the hill, visitors can see from Saint-Tropez to the Italian border on clear days.
4. **Church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption**:
- The baroque church of Eze, built in the 18th century, is another point of attraction. It is famous for its distinctive bell tower and elegant interior.
5. **Famous Perfumes**:

My take is that Eze, a medieval village perched on a rocky hill above the Mediterranean Sea, is a place where time seems to have stood still. Its narrow and winding cobbled streets wind through old stone houses adorned with colorful flowers and lush greenery. Floral fragrances mingle with the salty sea breeze, creating an enchanting aroma that invites visitors to stop and take a deep breath.
The ruins of the medieval castle watch from above, offering a panoramic view of the entire Côte d'Azur, from where you can see how the sun is reflected in the blue waves of the sea. The Jardin Exotique d'Eze, with its unusual cacti and succulent plants, stretches out like a secret garden, where every corner hides a new botanical discovery and another breathtaking view.
