People are saying it’s X on PlayStation and not Square. It might have to do with what handbrake controls you have. I’m not sure. I would have thought it to be the same corresponding button on PS as on Xbox.
BTW when killing God Mode users use Out of Sight and you can hide the tank in the tunnel. It doesn't count it as a kill if they're in god mode and you stay off the radar.

IMPORTANT: in your control settings, make sure "switch handbrake with duck/hydraulics" is set to on. Otherwise, your LB/L1 will be both the handbrake and shunt left, which will cause problems.
People learning in 2024: Yes, the ZR380 does have easier midair control, but I tried on the ZR380, and it was difficult, I found the Brutus much easier. I would also recommend that you jump off of a place like a bridge, if you start at the casino, and go towards the bridge then jump off through the little gap between the bridge wall and the building next to it, hope this helps.

A note to new players if you're trying to do this try to keep your wheels at a 90° angle or less with the ground. If your roof begins to face the ground more than your wheels the car will not want to shunt boost and you will fall
The zr380 doesn’t boost twice in the same direction the only way I can keep it up is gain t left right left right and that’s not great the monster truck worked fine
You can go outside of the map with this, since the scripted engine kill that happens when you go too far out of the map has no effect on the Arena war vehicles because they can still shunt boost even after the engine dies.
@@xswat Either they unpatched it or you didn't get out far enough. Because you could fly out for 20 minutes and more and the game would crash. But they added a death barrier like 1 year ago or longer. You could even get godmode from it.
I miss the launch you could do with the Sasquatch. Same inputs, but before you land on a car, you shunt. For some reason, the car would launch skyward, hitting you and sending you super high too if you had the positioning right.
been doing this on a keyboard I didn't know you have to hold the hand break so that it wont tilt much in the air this is my problem when I do a combo of jumps but then lost control mid air Thx Ghillie for this👏

Im not sure this works anymore with the sasquatch. I can consistently get like 5 or 6 perfect shunt boosts but at some point i completely lose vertical momentum and i start dropping. If it does still work, any tips to prevent this?its like at some point the boost loses power

I couldn't get this to work consistently until I understood one crucial thing, so here's a tip for beginners: your car won't shunt when you're DRIFTING the opposite way to your shunt direction. this, for some reason, also applies in mid-air. how do we understand this? simple: by now you should know that holding your handbrake allows you to rotate your car flat, instead of rolling. that rotation is similar, in nature, to drifting. so when you're shunting to the right, that specific rotation CANNOT be happening to the left, or you're prevented from shunting (regardless if you're holding the handbrake or not). basically, just make sure to keep the handbrake rotation of your car steady before trying to shunt, and it should work every time. I hope this helps anyone trying to learn this in 2024.
@@bigjaspereightysixth40 you might be ever so slightly rotating it upside down. if you pass the 90° point where your roof starts facing the ground, the handbrake rotation stops working. try starting your flight at a 45° angle, and counter early, that could help.

Console won't change the designated buttons, you're right. Change handbrake button and all should work.
I'm on PS5 and my handbrake controls are switched. My shunt boost is performed by holding Square and tapping L1, or R1.
Normal controls are x + R1/L1 on ps5 yeah

personally i find the glendale limo the easiest to shunt hop in and a decent starting point if you want to learn how to shunt hop
I just bought the Glendale and am trying to learn how to shunt jump, it’s rough lol but I’m hoping I get the hang of it eventually
The brutus is the easiest to fly imo. I can shunt hop every arena vehicle except the scarab
