Overall i definitely prefer the final Automatic choreo, but seeing this completely different choreo is so interesting. This one is more smooth and feels more seductive in comparison to the final choreo which is very sharp. It still amazes me how the dance could really change the mood of the song, and how two different people could interpret the same song in differing ways. And reveluvs, hate me all u want but i think this makes it seem even more that yeri wasn’t part of the inital plan for rv. Obviously we cant hear the original audio, so who’s to say it did or didn’t include yeri’s voice, but she isn’t practicing with the rest of the girls despite this being predebut and the dance seems like it was made specifically with four in mind. I love yeri so so much and am so proud of everything they’ve achieved as five, but sometimes videos from before make me think what really was sm’s intial plan for Red Velvet?? My wild conspiracy theory (but not really) is they were planning on doing Automatic after Happiness, but due to some issues (possibly sulli leaving?) they had to add yeri, but they also had to wait for her to reach a certain age due to the new laws that came into place. So they released Be Natural instead (which was probably gonna be part of a velvet album with Automatic) using the choreo that we saw from predebut irene and seulgi. I think they were gonna really commit to the dual concept, like they were planning on releasing full on r&b and soul type of music with choreo such as this that was more alluring and such. But they were also gonna do Red, however I don’t think they would’ve gone down the more “childish” route which we see in Rookie and Power Up. BUT its 3am rn and i should be sleeping so honestly dont mind me. This is all for fun, stan rv❤️

So the addition of (if i remember correctly) momo and dahyun (?), was unplanned too i guess. RV could definitely still go down the sexy sophisticated route now since their international audience seems to like their velvet tracks more. Unfortunately SM doesn’t give them many opportunities to showcase that side anymore. I feel like Wendy can definitely be a great dancer if she's being trained longer in dancing. she seems really good in some basic hiphop movements and her angles and energy are always on point. She just needs to continue working on her fluidity. (which seems she does improve since Bad Boy)
I absolutely agree! Wendy in FMR showed that she's definitely improved with being more fluid with her movements. I'm so impressed with her dancing even back then and even more so today.
