I can relate to everything you say being an international student in the US as well. Most of the time I feel like the only time when I'm genuinely happy is when I'm at home with my family, and I throw myself into work so I can drown out all the emotions and homesickness. I can't really complain either because I'm already in a very privleged position :) Thank you for sharing your perspective and your life it really helps me go through hard times

I know editing and filming can take up a long time (esp with a full time job) but keep it up! Hopefully you start getting cool opportunities through YT - you never know what will come your way so in the mean time just work on your craft because I can tell you’re on the right track for your channel to grow ❤️

Homesickness can be depressing, so I recommend you redirect your focus on something else. Maybe not on food that burns your gums (“oh fk it’s really hot”), but go see a movie, visit an art gallery, go for a long walk in nature, etc. you can always mimic me, do the wine diet!

We will teach them it is the American Dream, and "follow the leadership", the "entrepreneur", the "get out of your comfort zone (because God created the comfort zone and 'we' are smarter than God)"... yeah, all that, Maaarney, Maaarney, Maaarney, make some for us, so that when you have eaten enough junk food and become 65 or 70, we can charge you $20,000 per night at the hospital and milk back all the money.

As someone who also moved away from my family (albeit interstate, so not as far as you) I know what it's like to say goodbye every time I see them. Even talking on the phone and hanging up there have been times where I've started to cry. I also usually tear up as I get into the car to drive away as well (when I drive to see them). I don't know how you can do it moving to another country entirely, especially if you have plans to stay there permanently. It definitely helps to have a support network, but also be wary that you shouldn't rely on one single person to be your support network. If you like where you're living that also helps a lot! But yeah, it's definitely been hard these two years because of stupid COVID.

What language do you speak with your boyfriend when you're not filming?
I've been living overseas for several years (US citizen in Spain), but these past couple years have been the toughest of all. I got EU permanent residency last year, so I'm currently visiting my family for a few months. I'm staying with my sister and her baby son, so I'm sure leaving will be rough this time around 😭
we speak 90% english and 10% chinese haha. aww cheering for you!!

there's HK restaurant called 港食堂 right next to Yi Fang, and I go there a few times a month, and highly recommend their dishes.

hi! I added manully via the caption function on final cut pro: edit > caption > add caption. I am pretty sure there's the same feature for adobe premiere pro too if you're using that!
