Hum pehle engineering mil rahi thi , sabhi ki tarah humne bhi socha hua tha ki engineering isiliye karni hai taaki IT company me ya koi or badi Industry me job lag jaye. Lekin humne bahut Chintan ke baad socha ki hum reality me engineering karna hi nahi chate the , hum keval job ke liye clg ki race me lage padhe the. Humne ruka or socha or apna nirnay badla. Just as the ego is always at work, the tradition of teachers too has to be continuously at work. You cannot have one teacher whose words are eternal because no word can be eternal.
Words will need reinterpretation according to the time, the situation etc.
Vedanta is just one thing, Vedanta is not too many things. But Vedanta definitely has to be looked at in context for it to be useful.
You have to see that you are stuck in attachment and dilemma just like arjun. When you see that, then Krishna becomes radiant and brilliant for you. Now Krishna is like a personal coach.
Vedanta in today's time amounts to negating the notions, the ideals that we venerate today. That's why Vedanta is always a struggle. It does not have any affirmative message to convey. It is a philosophy in negativa.
In the current century whatsoever is taken as very important will be negated by Vedanta. That's what Vedanta does. That's why certain people are always irritated with it.
You do not need something to be added to your life. Life in itself is beautiful provided you get rid of all the nonsense you have covered it up with.
Vedanta is a cleaning mechanism. You bring anything to Vedanta and Vedanta says, let's go into it. Lets enquire, let's investigate. Vedanta is a big question mark.

You have to realise that your condition is similar situation otherwise the words of Krishna won't be relevant to you.
Vedanta is not really about a philosophy. Vedanta is about an inquiry. The inquiry is about one's own nature - the nature of the mind.
What do I want? Why do I never get fulfilled? What is it about me that always seeks activity and something else. Who am I to keep wanting like this and where did I come from? That's the most fundamental vedantic inquiry. Who am I? Something about me is amiss.
The ego has a great tendency and capability to co-opt whatever has been told to it.
The words of the sages can be used by the ego to reinforce itself. And that's why the words that were uttered for the sake of salvation, education, liberation become cannon-fodder. And the ego is using them as ammunition to blast the teacher itself!
I just want to live a good life. And what does a good life mean? I must consume a lot.
There is no positive message. Because there is no need of any positive message. Vedanta says you do not need any positive message. Reality is itself joyful. You just uncover it. And covering is a process in negation. You do not need anything additionally. You do not need anything added to your life.
Vedanta is only for those who love the Truth more than sensual gratification.
