I don’t know how I missed this one!!! So nice to see all your wonderful spring and Easter decorations. In New Orleans, we celebrate another holiday. Carnival season comes after Christmas beginning on January 6, which is Epiphany and ends on Mardi Gras day, the day before Ash Wednesday. For us, Ash Wednesday is the start of Easter/spring.
Hi there! You found the video just in time for spring decorating inspiration. 😊 It’s so interesting to hear about Carnival season in New Orleans! Being in West Texas, those traditions aren't very common here but I have had the privilege of enjoying a slice of King Cake before. Yum. Your deep brick porch with that amazing black door with the side windows is an amazing space to decorate. I would definitely get a bag of garden rocks from Lowes to weight down your planters. They look extremely lightweight for those winds you mentioned. I don't know where you are... but when you mentioned porch pirates I had to laugh. I am here in California and the struggle is real. But for the lanterns.... get some iron wall hooks and hang them on the walls on the sides of the doors .. And maybe wrap a small black chain around them to anchor onto the hooks at the top. They would look amazing in that red brick!
