Magdalena Bay - Chaeri (Brooklyn Steel, NYC 9/20/24)

I have been totally living out my Magdalena Bay dreams these last two days. The day before this show, Rough Trade held a signing for the new record Imaginal Disk and I got to chat with Mica and Matt and take a portrait of the two of them with the album.
Now the following day they played a sold out show at Brooklyn Steel. The line to get in was insanely long as was the merch. They were selling some really great merch. I managed to snag the holographic poster, blue tie-dye shirt, and the tour exclusive vinyl pressing.
The visuals were nothing short of stunning with the lights being amazing and dynamic and Mica undergoing a few costume changes. The projection angel wings eye in the back was always changing and was entrancing. Loved hearing the new album songs live, especially Image, Fear, sex, Watching T.V., ahh the list goes on. The show was everything I could have wanted.
The icing on the cake was watching my friend Carlo get HIRED to shoot the band. He got to go backstage, shoot portraits of them and had full access throughout the show. Love seeing my friends succeed :)
