A reminder to be careful with all the leaks! A few people are spoiling things in the comment section for others! It's ok to search yourself if you wanna know but be considerate of others who want to experience the game story at launch!
Surprised you didn't bring up the fact that each of the 14 weapons feel like a different action game embedded into MH, on average it would take anywhere from 50-200 hours to fully master a weapon's entire moveset and collect decorations for its specific skills, and because MHW was my first MH game that's how I eneded up with +2000 hours in game+DLC because I played all weapons 😅
Yup, no kidding, I mixed mashed my weapon usage when iceborne was released and just kept at it cause how much extra life each weapon gave the game. I'm only a fiver, got 2k hours in world/iceborne, but its so much fun just going in, picking what weapon i wanna go with that meshes with the sos I'm jumping into, and going ham
This. If you ever start getting bored of a monster hunter game, all you need to do is pick up another weapon. Entirely different experience every time. It's like 14 games mashed into one because you will have to go through the entire learning process every time, which is such a wonderful accidental feature
Also a reminder to veteran hunters to keep your expectations for challenge *very low* for the initial release slate. None of the monsters are going to slap particularly hard and they are going to feel easy to kill, even with weak gear and sets, because your skill at the game's fundamentals is in Master Rank tier, even with the new additions to systems and weapons. This happens every time there's a new release. The game isn't "getting easier", you're just way better at the game! Take this as a chance to fool around and learn the new fancy stuff!
Uh... kinda true, kinda not. I can solo Fatalis in World, but MH3 Barioth and Diablos can still triple-cart me if I'm not being really careful. The newer games are definitely easier in general, with a few difficult fights concentrated in the post game.
@@rolf1819a half truth at most. Monster hunter games are getting easier, particularly in the power of the hunters themselves. Hunt a silver rath in rise and then hunt one in freedom unite, both in G rank. The disparity in hunter capability is staggering. I'm not necessarily saying its a bad thing, but to say the games aren't getting easier is simply false.
Be extremely careful with MHWilds on the internet. When they started datamining the beta, they found a list of monster IDs, and status effects specific to very few monsters. Then, somebody was like, "Hey, we haven't checked the audio section yet. I wonder what's in there?" They found the entire story. From confirmation of a few left-field monsters, to the name of the final boss. Seriously, avoid the leaks at all costs.
Capcom always does quarterly updates for Monster Hunter base game. Then after 4 Title Updates, they release the G-Rank/Master Rank expansion. Then support that expansion for a year with 4-5 Title Update before they start working on the next generation mainline game (e.g. MH7, since World is 5 and Wilds is 6).
Maybe, but beating World isn't going to be easy, which sits at over 25 million, not including Iceborne. So yes I think Wilds will have very good sales, but 25 mil+? We'll see about that.
Let's keep it simple and honest. You pay full price a single time, you get a static game, with a few updates on top of it some time down the line. Then an eventual DLC If you want monthly updates, you better be ready for a subscription fee, a season pass or god forbid an ingame store Be careful what you wish for I do not wish for a Monster Hunter live service travesty
@@MouseKeyboardPlayer I mean Elden Ring had 25 milj sales and for what I've seen there has been huge interest in wilds from that community. Especially because there are not that many new games in souls like only thing I can think of is Lies of P but that's only around 30 hours of content. So assuming 30% cross section and 100% world player return rate you are already looking at 33 milj copies sold. Not to mention the reach to wider gaming community.
Welcome to the game. Hope you have a blast playing Monster Hunter. I am not a veteran my self, and it took some time to understand the game at first, but my BIGGEST tip I can give someone is: take your time with it. No need to rush, no need to get those thousands of hours. What ever and when ever the game give you the enjoyment, play it as you want. Cheers!
Have I been playing Monster Hunter for nearly twenty years? Yes! Yes have. Did I still enjoy listening to this video telling me everything I can recite in my sleep? Also yes.
I actually feel like it might be easier and faster to grind for weapon upgrades in this game, not only just because of the way the game seems to work as an open world title but also because we are being encouraged to main 2 weapons instead of just one.
The grind has already been massively sped up in recent games. I'm hoping having two weapons is an opportunity to bring back an optional grind for players who want to min max both weapons, rather than an excuse to make it even easier to craft gear
How does the game being more grindy change the fact you need to learn a monster or how you are rewarded for gear? It’s just artificial padding. If I’ve hunted 35 zinogres for one drop making me hunt 20 more isn’t going to make a difference in proving anything, it only serves to annoy and gatekeep items from you. Absolute gatcha brained take
@ there’s a balance to it. 50 hunts to get one item is excessive. In World though, I often could craft an entire armor set after only hunting the monster 2-3 times. That’s not really enough to feel you learned the monster well. If you’re gonna wear it as armor, you should be familiar with it and show mastery over it. I remember fighting Lagiacrus to get his armor and you needed I think 2 plates. It took many attempts and when I was done I no longer feared him in the water. Same with Shogun Ceanataur in MHF2. I felt like I mastered Shogun when I’d finally got his set and it was work, but not crazy repetitive and I felt accomplished. The longest it ever took me to get a gem or something in World was maybe 5-6 hunts, and then most of the time you can meld them or get them some other way not requiring hunting. That’s a bit too easy. Separate issue, but I wish they’d bring back more gathering. I never one had to go on a gathering expedition to go mine for ores in 5th gen, always just had what I needed already.
Thanks for the video, I'm writing through a translator. In the basic version on PS4, I played for 800 hours, then switched to PC and there I still play World and Rise with add-ons. The Monster hunter game has always been from the entertain yourself series. And making new and new weapons, mastering new techniques, time flies by imperceptibly. I completely agree with you.
@@Mr.Starlight_gamingif u think it looks better by such a small margin u need to get ur eyes checked. Graphics is not everything either when it comes to size
Now that Monster Hunter has proven itself as a franchise with the insane success of World, I wouldn't be surprised if MH:Wilds ends up having the biggest roster for a base MH game ever as I can only imagine how much resources Capcom has poured into the development of this game. Plus, to me, it seems like one of the main tenets for this entry into the franchise is simply to do "more" as in: Much larger areas, that are now seamless. Now you can carry two weapons instead of one. Now the ecology is even more complex and detailed. Now the climate plays a big factor and is not only cosmetic, etc. So, I wouldn't be surprised if we also get MORE monsters than ever before for a base game, keeping in line with that general principle.
Maybe will get 50 large monsters in base wilds it's highly unlikely it will reach Generations insane base roster of 71 large monsters gotta keep your expectations realistic world:31 Rise:41 Wilds at 50 feels a good guess from previous new gen games
@@WaddleDee45 blasphemy lol I kid everyone has there own thing as to many monsters can feel like monsters are samey but I really want a game to reach that big 100 large just one time then we can cut back and do unique but lower list
I hope so. I also kinda expect this. I suspect we’ll see a slow drip of content for like 2 years boosting up the roster before Wilds expansion. I hope they just bring back lots of existing monsters in added content to make it easier relative to making lots of new monster and pump up the numbers, then lots of new monsters in the main game and expansion.
I'm excited now that i have a larger group of friends to go through this game than both World/Rise. With base world when all my friends were burnt out, I found fun working on the Feyline tribes. I hope we get meaningful side content like this with these expanded environments.
The events hopefully are on world’s standard. Rise had some fun hunts in itself, but world events had so much personality, collabs, and way better rewards
@@WaddleDee45 It’s technically still rotating since they never patched the game to allow access to both sieges simultaneously. Not to mention that event quests have been permanently removed because of expired licenses.
+1k plus hour in MHW + I. After completing everything, will response to SOS to help other hunters. That’s is the spirit that makes MH community shines.
WHEN wilds gets its dlc expansion like iceborne was to world, its going to be INSANE. I cant wait just for the game itself, that beta, while my cpu was mad with me. Was amazing. Loved the gameplay, feels so natural to play. And if we just get MORE GAME, im all for it
When the game drops, my plans are: make every single piece of armor from LR to HR. We get 2 variations 1 for male and female model so that means double the farm lol. Craft all weapons for all 14 weapons. Capture every single endemic life. Crown hunting. And whatever the end game is lol
Im totally cool if it flows the same way as world did. Gives everyone enough time to get ready for the expansion. MHW was my first MH game and I still enjoy playing it.
As an addition to the wait time on Master Rank, just know with World to Iceborne it took about 1 year and 8 months apart, so we’ll probably be waiting for the expansion for a good while
TLDR 1) there is always a base game that's slightly different from the previous games 1.5) events and collabs are added for free during the waiting period 2) 1-2 years later they release a big DLC that overhauls the base game by adding even more to it, it's like an expansion + overhaul
For real, crown farming and getting wild life for my rooms in world/iceborne was extremely fun, with nearly 2k hours, mainly going and helping with any and every sos, at least 500 of those hours goes to the grindstone
@lilfuzzballa Hyping for a game is unhealthy. I've been there myself. Try to play something else equally enticing, or do something different not related to gaming.
The thing I like the most about monster hunter. Its the same baseline game where each game (heck even each expansion) they experiment with movesets and mechanics. A great example of this is the mount mechanic, added in iceborne as an auto transport, improved and changed in rise and now even more improved and changed in wilds.
I’m new to the MH games but after trying Wilds beta I bought Worldborne and Risebreak, currently in Iceborne after 72 hrs of gameplay. I’m loving it, I had a ton of fun in the recent beta and have ordered a 4080in anticipation of Wilds. Cannot wait. Ruhrikan you make fantastic videos, thank you so much for all your great contributions, really.
For people who think we'll only have the monsters in the beta in the windward plains, they have to remember that rathalos and by proxy rathian are supposed to be in the windward plains, rathalos was even showed there in the first ever reveal for the game.
it will have enough; but never enough for the people who are never satisfied. lol real talk; not having covid and not being the first big HD MH game has me hopeful.
Actually Surprisingly enough we might get a good chunk of monsters because all of the monsters they have really shown off in the trailers are all brand new monsters. and we have glimpses of returners like Rathalos, and Congalala too. So the real question is how many brand new monsters are their going to be (It's Clearly a lot) and how many returners are going to be in the base game of wilds.
If they do bring out a special state (something like frenzied, hyper, tempered or afflicted monsters) out for the monsters, I hope that it's more than what tempered did in world. I personally found tempered monsters to be very disappointing. If they're gonna bring out a special state, I do want them to do some twist to the normal flow of the hunt. I'd still say the frenzied monsters are my favorite since they had a good story implementation and a fun gameplay interaction. Afflicted monsters were close, but the gameplay interaction wasn't quite as good imo. I don't really expect to see this in a base game (even if we see this more than naught since they started giving special states to monsters), but if they do bring a special state in wilds, I hope it's interesting gameplay wise. As for the base roster, we're likely to see at least the amount we had with world and rise, if not a bit more. I would like to see some neopterons and snake wyverns in this entry, a new carapaceon would be really cool too. Having a diverse monster roster is important to me since I like to hunt when I'm in the mood for something. We're already with a pretty good roster for now, but some of these more underrepresented types of monsters would be amazing to see given some love.
I just started hunting with MHRise on the switch this year and I'm just around HR7 but I can't believe how much I was missing by no playing MH before! I wish I knew this like a decade ago. I'd have played MH a lot on my PS Vita!! I'm glad I discovered this amazing world tho. I've been having a blast playing in co-op with my wife! I also tried the MHWilds beta on my PS5 and holy cow it was FANTASTIC!! I just can't imagine how amazing the final product is gonna be. Imagine the expansion running on the PS5 Pro!! 🤩 In terms of content just the base game of Rise has had me entertained for months and I feel like I'm barely scratching the surface of it. I still have all Sunbreak so it's a TON of top tier content. If you ask me, just the beta of wilds had way too much content for that time window. Considering that Wilds is gonna be a big monster hunter like World (unlike Rise that is more of a portable version), the content of the base game is gonna be HUGE. At least for regular people. I know there are a lot of extreme players that are gonna rush the game and probably end up running out of content in a couple of months, but every game on existence has that kind of players with no life. As I said, for normal people and by today's standards, the game is gonna have an outstanding amount of content IMHO. (BTW sorry for my English)
World was my first monster hunter game, before icborne and it was one of the best games ive played. When iceborne came out it just made the game even better! If people complain about lack of content then theyre probably under the age of 18 with ADHD, or just play the computer for more than 5 hours a day
Before watching the video, here are my expectations. For info, i played everything upwards 3U. Locales: 5 (+ Arena and maybe 1 or 2 special boss arenas). Monsters: 40-50 (5th Gen was less, but it was also a soft reboot, so i expect more, since Wilds also had the longest dev time of all MH games). Endgame hopefully will have more than World (basegame) had. I consider World's endgame to be pretty solid and surely the games should evolve with every generation.
its also a new engine as well for MH games so dont get your hype engine up too high for more content than world, which is totally fine, even if its as much as world, that was plenty for a mainline game
@@CaecoAequitas1 First, it's not a new engine, Rise already used it and second, content can be converted from one engine to another. I don't get the doomer mentality, that Wilds somehow needs to have less content, than the gen before. It was the case for World, but that was also a soft reboot of the series.
I'm going off the revealed monsters so far so no leak info, but they seem to prioritize monster variety and complexity far more than pure monster count. Do not expect MH4 numbers until they announce every bird wyvern and reskin subspecies is coming to the game at launch.
I'm hoping for a decent investment for Wilds. World+Iceborne took me a total of 800 hours to 100%, in regards to getting all Achievements/Guild Card Awards, including farming crowns. Rise/Sunbreak took me about 1000 for the same thing. Somewhere around the 800-1000 mark is sufficient for me. I have quite a few friends playing this time around, so I'll have some extra hours helping and playing with them potentially.
I'm not going to be as positive as you and gaijin were for Rise, that was extremely disappointing, lack of event quests/rewards, lack of endgame and high level threats, rampage was so meh that they didn't even try to continue anything it offered in the expansion. In wilds i hope they don't go the route of Rise. That was too accepted and "positively" looked over by many people.
Possibly unpopular take, Low rank should be optional. As a new player I feel like it was helpful to ease me in when I started but now after only 2 games (world and rise) I already feel that its so piss easy its just a waste of time. In Rise low rank might as well be "large monsters are small monsters" mode, even not knowing how my weapon worked and it being my first monster hunter game it was laughably easy. In world its a bit more meaty, I remember I even failed the Odogaron quest once (I was still new at the time and I didn't know how to use my weapon or understand many of the game systems) but I still think its fundamentally a feature for the new players. My main point is that previous sentence. Most games don't expect you to play on easy to unlock normal and I think that's for the better. Its not just about the early game padding either, having done 3 world playthroughs at this point, one of the biggest pain points for me has been low rank monster part grinding. Even in high rank its so easy it might as well be a chore, in master rank its basically a "forced" speedrun, and in certain cases you might have to kill 10-20 monsters to get what you need (I'm looking at you you stupid claws, why is it always claws XD). Its a design that "punishes" you for wanting to make lots of weapons by making you fight monsters that are basically just punching bags for you. Now there is technically a fix for this in-game, which is the ability to forge weapons higher up on the tree, possibly skipping the need for low rank mats, but there are edge cases where you have to grind low-rank (especially in early-mid high rank), and even if the weapon tree was designed in a way that you typically never have to hunt a low rank monster for anything after entering high rank, well that just means that low rank has no purpose right? I think low-rank should be like a mode that is the same as high-rank but you get one third of the materials and in exchange the monsters are significantly easier. If you need it its there, otherwise you can just play on the "normal" difficulty that is high rank. I also don't think there is any point in having bespoke low rank equipment, in all of my playthroughs of world I didn't craft almost anything from low rank because it didn't feel necessary (you can get like 3 shitty skills and 2 good ones from a full set, its just not worth enough to bother). Alternatively, just add something else to spice it up, maybe the ability to hunt 3-4 low rank monsters simultaneously? Speedrun bonus mats? I don't really care, but I think low rank in world and rise was not well implemented.
Wilds is fine. Literally everyone complaining about performance is running outdated PCs with old cpus and outdated bios. As for console, the ps5 was never that powerful
I heard that wasnt even the full roster for the monsters, however, i would be fine with that amount of monsters as i think it's more than base world? And i put like 30 hours into base world before i beat it and moved onto iceborne
Very useful. I'm being coerced (just kidding) into being the fourth guy in a team of friends that has been playing for years and I have never played a single game in the series, so I don't know what to expect. They tell me the from software school is gonna prepare me but we'll see
My wish is that with an emphasis on excinct species, we dont get many elder dragons. World had such a focus on them that im a bit burned out on them as a concept right now.
Had to pause the video and say I logged over 800+ hours in my first playthrough of MHW...and I have been playing since Tri. When he said 2-300 I about lost it! 😅
I would have been happy with the list that leaked recently. 30+ monsters is absurd that is a game that Is an absolutely huge game it might take closer to 50 hours just to break out of low rank
I'm not sure how the Windward Plains was limited during the beta, because I looked through the map & all the areas seem to be there, from area 1 to 14 or 15. Though, I will say, the size of the map did feel small, with a lack of secret areas, for such an open map.
Want to make your gameplay last longer? Every time you fight a new monster, just simply craft every single piece of gear you can from it. Full armor, any of the weapons you want, bam! You can also bide time with fishing. Good for wet fish fins and sushi fish scale. Those are always nice to have.
i cant lie, with MonHun, capcom has basically made the perfect formula for base game+expansion versus a live service game: we know what we can expect overall, it allows us to put a bit more trust in the devs for the money and time we spend on the game, and we fund their profit enough to warrant the expansion that builds off of that, without them putting in any battle pass bs, granted there are MTX's, but i overlook those as its all un-important stuff, and mostly there to tell the shareholders they have them (at a guess, besides, i have at least one friend that buys a bunch of emotes if for nothing else but to troll me) it allows them to use ideas that are scrapped for the base game and further implement them into the expansion if necessary, and in a way, works the same as Early Access does for steam; except we get a complete game with story combat and exploration of a complete world, and the expansion is basically the "1.0 release" that improves (usually) the entire game and elevates it.
Yeah, it's not that the game forces you to play for hundreds of hours. It's that there's so much you can do to alter your experience: With gear and weapon choices, grinding all those out or just having fun fighting the same things in different ways. This all prolongs the experience on your own terms, based on what kind of mischief your want to get into with the game. Maybe you start and only 1 weapon really clicks with you but later on you get curious about another weapon or 2. Remember, there are 14 weapons and plenty of them have multiple play styles to offer. So you check videos. Or, if you're lucky, you have a friend who's a veteran that knows you well who can point you in the right direction of new weapons and teach you how to use them. Little more hands on and having fun with a friend as you learn a new weapon's flow. I never had this on the student end of things, I just got lucky and found a weapon or 2 that really spoke to me. I had a blast on the teacher end, showing a friend the ropes with a few weapons in Rise and also Wilds' beta. Seeing new hunters grow up is truly magical. My best memory is being asked if I wanted to hunt MR crimson glow valstrax for the first time, just after getting home/still drunk from a party with family members. I chose to go in with a HH but made the mistake of not swapping horns so I had no healing songs and just really sharpness ones, while drunk, in my first hunt of a master rank version of a jet dragon. Needless to say, I carted twice but we still won, cause my student didn't cart once. I was so proud of him! We've seen 3 maps and an interview before we saw the third one suggested that we have 1 more. At least 1 more that will be shown in marketing before release. They said they had 2 left before we saw the last one. They may show all the maps in marketing or save one to be discovered in game. 4 maps is fine, they are twice the size as World's 5 maps so it's like having 8. I still think we'll get mid to high 40s in monsters on release. This is because of 3 factors; 1 they said they learned from World and Rise so they don't want to show us dam near every monster before release so keeping more of those close to their chest, 2 it's the same engine as Rise so a lot of the basic skeleton/animation work is already done so they can use those frames to make more monsters more quickly than if it was a new engine like World and Rise were, and 3 this is the longest dev cycle/biggest budget they've ever had. His phrasing isn't the best, a section of the team splinters off to do the free updates while the main talent is focused on early work/concepts for the next expansion or next game. Those start as soon as a game releases. The update skeleton crew rejoins them once their work is done and once the next release is in full swing of development. They also have 2 full teams for Monster Hunter's main games. Wilds is the World team, who've been working on this since Iceborne released. Then you have Rise's team who worked on that ever since Generations Ultimate was finished. That means the Rise/Generations team started work on their next game after Sunbreak. This leapfrog method lets them release games more often, while also letting each one have longer dev cycles for more ambitious games.
100 hours for casual play? Disagree there Ruri, if you focus solely on the story side of things the game is around 30 to 40 -50 ish hours long. But this is the type of person who is like "once and done" player, the type who is there for the most baseline experience. Now those who strife to put that checkmark on all quests and see most if not all aspects the base game (not a trophy/achievement hunter) offers, goes from 75 to 150 hours. This is the type that unlocks stuff like all upgrades in the canteen, all mantles and so on. Then we got the hardest to the core bunch who at 300+ hours are still grinding and min - maxing sets or getting 100% achievements.
@kazzinga9605 Did you try to unlock that as soon as it was available to you? Of course these things can be unlocked at any given time, I'm talking about the type of player that does the side content first and then the main story quests to progress on the game. Of course in MH some things unlocks after you beat the story, but I'm strictly talking about those that on the girst playthrough, go for whats available to them before seeing the credits.
@@CidPsy not really, the things that were Easy to get and that got in front of your face were the secondary Quest that i did, but still, if you don't know the game, it's difficult to rush It, or hai every gadget/equipment, you Need some time
I think end content for base game will be something like a seige. Because 100 player lobbies? Why go that far? Sounds like they want the seige to be one of the main replay values for Multi-player or something
You think they are going to do a siege involving 100 players on one map altogether? Mmo's struggle but you think this game can? Mate, you'll have half an fps if they tried that.
@rolf1819 have you played monster hunter world? 16 player lobbies but only 4 can play at once. All they have to do is keep the stats for 100 players. It's not everyone on screen at once, just the other 3 you go into the seige with
I love Monster Hunter, man, I LOVE MONSTER HUNTEEER. I hope event quests are a bigger part of Wilds unlike it was in Rise, MHRise is a great game and some of the event quest cosmetics were just as great, but majority of the event quests giving you poses and/or stickers while new layered weapons were MTX was kind of a bummer
Honestly, I understand that this is how it's always been but I hope this time it isn't that way. I hope the low and high rank have a LOT of variety and tons of different monsters, even bring back a ton from World if need be. Why? I like content but also the big, open, living world NEEDS variety of species to interact with.
hope the other maps have lots of water. as in could get expanded with water mechanics *hopes the exspansion brings back a good region for some MH3U monsters.
Holy mother of rambling. Even as someone who understood everything you said you somehow still confused me. You should think about writing scripts for stuff like this because i was not conveyed any information in a easy to digest way.
Most people that play now world dont engauge with tempered or arch tewmpered monsters in high rank or event quest (they go right to Iceborn DLC )whitch is sad but remeber even bais world has manny manny thing to do lots of content.
I know you say 35- 40 monsters for base game wilds but have you seen the datamine leaks ? Dont want to spoil anything so all i will say is they have supposedly got the full roster if you have seen the leaks do you think the roster is the full roster or only partial since its the beta im sure it wont have everything on it ?
Average player who got into end game grind, base, 500 hours? That's way too far fetched. I played world and iceborn. Killed all monsters, played all events, got all weapons for 2 or 3 different weapon types. And played through a second time. And still only had 480 hours. So you are telling me all that, and the expansion, and I'm still 20 hours short of an average player? No way.
@ true. I started when it launched. Then took a massive break and came back towards to end of iceborn. So probably levelled quickly. But still would say the average person is only putting in 40 hours into the game and then moving on.
the lack of elder dragons is baffling. the franchise always have elder dragons as the center of the lore of every game and its disappointing and they didnt even add new ones.
They said Elder Dragons aren’t the main focus (in contrast with World where they were the main focus with the elder crossing). But they didn’t say the game wouldn’t have elder dragons.
@rurikhan yes im fully aware of that however, based on the leaks, if its true, im still disappointed that there were very few elder dragons. ive been playing since freedom unite. its okay to not focus on elder dragons but its weird to have few of them. it makes me sad.
@@johntan8343 Dragons Dogma would be dope and This may not be one people would expect but I would love to see Cyberpunk. Maybe we can fight a huge mechanized monster or something lol
I'll be honest I'm not gonna get it. Don't like the changes they made to the formula across World and Rise, and it looks like they're pushing them even further in this one. Not to mention that it apparently doesn't have Monster-Hunter-Language as an audio option.
That has always been the case for MH games. Master Rank (G-rank) has always been in the expanded versions. If master Rank was just apart of the base game, then the future expansion would be less interesting.
Use your head a lil, every generation before world didn’t have dlc, but another version of the game, completely the same, except for the added g rank. Freedom unite is an expansion on freedom, except back then, instead of paying for a dlc to access master rank, you had to buy a whole new game, same as the one you already played for half of it, and costed more than a dlc would. Freedom unite IS the paywall. It’s much better now as you just buy the dlc by itself instead of the same game twice.
I would be careful with the expectation that we will get more monsters than World at launch. Wilds has much more complex interactions between monsters and the environment. Even towards the end of the beta I was seeing new interactions between monsters I had fought a dozen times, and I saw even more online that I didn't experience myself. That takes a lot of work, and unless they are copy pasting a lot of these interactions around, I wouldn't expect there to be very many more monsters than in past games.
Wilds had a longer dev time with more experience. This isn't your annual CoD, where you get the same game every year. The Monster Hunter team of Capcom is known to put a lot of new stuff in each new game.
I'm not going to be an A-hole and spoil everyones experience, but I do want to set expectations so people won't be disappointed on release for the monster count. Spoilers Datamine shows 31 monsters as of now unless there's stuff scrubbed. It's comparable to World, but I don't want people expecting in the 40s
A reminder to be careful with all the leaks! A few people are spoiling things in the comment section for others! It's ok to search yourself if you wanna know but be considerate of others who want to experience the game story at launch!
I thank you for bringing awareness on this
Yeah it’s true. Whole monster list and audio files are out there. If you don’t care the info is out there
I don’t have high expectations for the story of any Monster Hunter game, but to be fair Wilds does look like a huge step up in that department so far.

I hope they embrace the triangle polygon monster meme and add event quest for that.
And also have an 8-bit remix of the themes would funny too
This would be perfect for April Fools
That would be kinda funny
It would be perfect for a megaman or another classic series crossover.
@@desto13c there is a polygon mod for Monsters hunter world
Also a reminder to veteran hunters to keep your expectations for challenge *very low* for the initial release slate.

Monster hunter games are getting easier, particularly in the power of the hunters themselves.

The disparity in hunter capability is staggering. I'm not necessarily saying its a bad thing, but to say the games aren't getting easier is simply false.
Exactly! That's why I'm going to try learn new weapons instead of going for my mains.

This is going to be Capcom’s best selling game, I can only hope we get regular updates.
Once a month is probably too much to ask, but a guy can dream.
Better to get quality updates than trying to hit dead lines.
Then an eventual DLC
If you want monthly updates, you better be ready for a subscription fee, a season pass or god forbid an ingame store
Be careful what you wish for
I do not wish for a Monster Hunter live service travesty
@@MouseKeyboardPlayer I mean Elden Ring had 25 milj sales and for what I've seen there has been huge interest in wilds from that community. So assuming 30% cross section and 100% world player return rate you are already looking at 33 milj copies sold. Not to mention the reach to wider gaming community.

@@DarkfireLightice welcome the Monster Hunter community if you ever have questions fell free to ask been playing MH for twenty years
Welcome to the game.
Cheers!
@AnghelVick totally agree 💯 with this advice just enjoy it and find a weapon that suits you don't be afraid to try them all out at your own pace
I hope not. I like grinding for gear, learning the fights, and feeling rewarded for my effort with better gear
To be fair, for 100+ GB, i am expecting a wee bit of extra content compared to other games
The full game is leaked and im telling you those 100gb is just textures and audio, not extra monsters.
4k textures are big now lol. take up a lot of a games install
I think we're well past the days of a game's file size being any indication of how much content it actually has.

Like if Generations but in new-gen monster hunter? I wish but I highly doubt it, we'll probably just get something close to world numbers.
Maybe will get 50 large monsters in base wilds it's highly unlikely it will reach Generations insane base roster of 71 large monsters gotta keep your expectations realistic world:31
Rise:41
Wilds at 50 feels a good guess from previous new gen games
This may sound crazy to some, but I generally feel there can be such a thing as too many monsters in a Monster Hunter game.
Same exact position for me. I need to friend some mh vets for when wilds releases. Are you on ps5? Guess its irrelevant since cross platform.
The events hopefully are on world’s standard. Rise had some fun hunts in itself, but world events had so much personality, collabs, and way better rewards
They better not be on a rotating schedule like World until the very end of its life, though. Hated that.
As an addition to the wait time on Master Rank, just know with World to Iceborne it took about 1 year and 8 months apart, so we’ll probably be waiting for the expansion for a good while
TLDR
1) there is always a base game that's slightly different from the previous games
1.5) events and collabs are added for free during the waiting period
2) 1-2 years later they release a big DLC that overhauls the base game by adding even more to it, it's like an expansion + overhaul
Gold Crown farming, set farming, all psn trophies. All rare endemic life. Hopefully making my room look great. Glaaaaaaaams
FOR REAL!
how about an aquarium and we have to catch all teh fishies?!
If they don't have layered armour at launch _again_ I'm gonna be so sad.
For real, crown farming and getting wild life for my rooms in world/iceborne was extremely fun, with nearly 2k hours, mainly going and helping with any and every sos, at least 500 of those hours goes to the grindstone

The Wilds' beta brought me to MH... But, bought World and Rise on sale and I dont regret it. Man! I was missing out on a decent franchise.
Damn enjoy. I wish I could erase my memory and have those 2 monster hunter games to play right now. Would make the wait a lot less painful.
@lilfuzzballa Hyping for a game is unhealthy. I've been there myself. Try to play something else equally enticing, or do something different not related to gaming.
Dude bought Worldbourne and rise together, you better get on it lolol. Feb 28th not too far away now.
i remember the hype of waiting for MH4U to release to the west. so glad they started bringing the base game to the rest of the world earlier
People were doing 30-60 hours in the beta. Even I played like 15 hours with iffy performance. So ya not worried about the content.
For people who think we'll only have the monsters in the beta in the windward plains, they have to remember that rathalos and by proxy rathian are supposed to be in the windward plains, rathalos was even showed there in the first ever reveal for the game.
it will have enough; but never enough for the people who are never satisfied. lol
real talk; not having covid and not being the first big HD MH game has me hopeful.
Leave it to Monster Hunter to set the bar so high that 100 hours at a minimum is a small amount of content. I love this series.
Frenzy is back and can afflict mons so that’s likely the endgame

I clicked because i love this palico thumbnail. Best, most cutest face! "Meow meow!"
I trust the content in the game will be there, they do have a history of good content.
Optimization-wise though... 💀
No Denuvo plz Capcom.

There’s only 4 though. The 5th and 6th are special maps aka the arena and final boss locale.

My stupid ass was thinkin I was happy with sub, 20 monsters
Maybe 30 to 40 monster , also doing everything in the game taking my sweet time 🏹
I'm not sure how the Windward Plains was limited during the beta, because I looked through the map & all the areas seem to be there, from area 1 to 14 or 15.
Though, I will say, the size of the map did feel small, with a lack of secret areas, for such an open map.
15,000 hours since I only play monster hunter mainline games so Wilds will be the first non world game i touch for the last 5 years.
Want to make your gameplay last longer? Every time you fight a new monster, just simply craft every single piece of gear you can from it. Full armor, any of the weapons you want, bam! You can also bide time with fishing. Good for wet fish fins and sushi fish scale. Those are always nice to have.
i cant lie, with MonHun, capcom has basically made the perfect formula for base game+expansion versus a live service game:
we know what we can expect overall, it allows us to put a bit more trust in the devs for the money and time we spend on the game, and we fund their profit enough
to warrant the expansion that builds off of that, without them putting in any battle pass bs, granted there are MTX's, but i overlook those as its all un-important stuff, and mostly there to tell the shareholders they have them (at a guess, besides, i have at least one friend that buys a bunch of emotes if for nothing else but to troll me)
it allows them to use ideas that are scrapped for the base game and further implement them into the expansion if necessary, and in a way, works the same as Early Access does for steam;
except we get a complete game with story combat and exploration of a complete world, and the expansion is basically the "1.0 release" that improves (usually) the entire game and elevates it.
Then we got the hardest to the core bunch who at 300+ hours are still grinding and min - maxing sets or getting 100% achievements.
not true, i don't have all unlocked i need to upgrade the healing flare still. I have 700+ hours
@@CidPsy not really, the things that were Easy to get and that got in front of your face were the secondary Quest that i did, but still, if you don't know the game, it's difficult to rush It, or hai every gadget/equipment, you Need some time
Feeding the algorithm a bit for you, trying to stay away from most MH content until Wilds' release
Imagine if monster hunter gets yearly seasonal updates like capcom’s street fighter series until the next monster title 🤤 one expansion in not enough
100 hours is NOT casual for World... most casual players stopped after beating Xeno'jiiva
And they played themselves 😂
I think end content for base game will be something like a seige. Because 100 player lobbies? Why go that far? Sounds like they want the seige to be one of the main replay values for Multi-player or something
You think they are going to do a siege involving 100 players on one map altogether? Mmo's struggle but you think this game can? Mate, you'll have half an fps if they tried that.
@rolf1819 have you played monster hunter world? 16 player lobbies but only 4 can play at once. All they have to do is keep the stats for 100 players. It's not everyone on screen at once, just the other 3 you go into the seige with
@@AnimeIntrospective yeah, then a whole server lobby has to take down a progressive piece of the fight over time maybe?
So who's the seige fight? Safi? Bahamut? One of the monsters hinted at in the leaks?
Don't tell me.... VELOCIDROME PRIME???
I love Monster Hunter, man, I LOVE MONSTER HUNTEEER.
I hope event quests are a bigger part of Wilds unlike it was in Rise, MHRise is a great game and some of the event quest cosmetics were just as great, but majority of the event quests giving you poses and/or stickers while new layered weapons were MTX was kind of a bummer
damn, 8 mins, earliest i've ever been to anything x)
one time i got a second
Rurikhan, the thumbnail is so cute!
Honestly, I understand that this is how it's always been but I hope this time it isn't that way. I hope the low and high rank have a LOT of variety and tons of different monsters, even bring back a ton from World if need be. Why? I like content but also the big, open, living world NEEDS variety of species to interact with.
Idk why i have this gut that wilds will receive more than one expansion
Where's Poogie?
I just hope they have a better optimized co-op system.
hope the other maps have lots of water. as in could get expanded with water mechanics *hopes the exspansion brings back a good region for some MH3U monsters.
If all else fails, y'all can hunt with me in World if you haven't finished everything! 👍
I expected atleast 2-3 years whole content including the expansion we're gonna get later
I haven’t seen the leaks at all, I’m avoiding them and even if I see them I’ll treat them as fake until officially confirmed.
World released with 31 monsters Iceborne brought it up to 55 including small monsters, Rise has 61 in total with all updates.
Iceborne has 71 large monsters rise 66
I’d be super happy if wilds gets like 45 before the expansion. Worlds roster felt small and repetitive before Iceborne
Do not spoil anything for us that aren't watching dataminers. Just enjoy the game.
Yoshi P wants to put Bahamut in Wilds, IF this happens it'd make Wilds the best MH of al time!
No way.
When you jumped in can affect your progression. Certain events and monsters added later allowed players to get more powerful items faster.
@ true. I started when it launched. Then took a massive break and came back towards to end of iceborn. So probably levelled quickly. But still would say the average person is only putting in 40 hours into the game and then moving on.
All the content
How much of that content will be espoiled, hyper analyzed, and mix max the shit out of it before launch?
All the content
Leaks are out pretty much the whole game is leaked if anyone is worried about the roster or story you can check it out.
I hope to goodness they do a dragons dogma collab🙏🏽
i think i heard or read in a article there would be a bit more then what you have now in iceborne.
dont forget we still have free DLC content in base game and free DLC in the expansion ( like DLC in DLC..... )
I just want more Big monsters than in base MH World
The only monster hunter base game that disappointed me was Rise, F the Switch man
the lack of elder dragons is baffling. the franchise always have elder dragons as the center of the lore of every game and its disappointing and they didnt even add new ones.
@@francistein8409 having no elder dragons is why I'm probably not gonna buy it, combined with the fact it's open world
How dare you chance kushala returning!
I would like to see a horizon zero dawn Collab
@@johntan8343 Dragons Dogma would be dope and This may not be one people would expect but I would love to see Cyberpunk. Maybe we can fight a huge mechanized monster or something lol
Welp good thing there are plenty of MH content creators who don’t waste time speculating
Dont hate me, but I hope Yian Garuga comes back cuz I like the purple maniac
Die hards put 2000 hours plus into these games. I think any amount of content will be enough.
I'll be honest I'm not gonna get it. Don't like the changes they made to the formula across World and Rise, and it looks like they're pushing them even further in this one. Not to mention that it apparently doesn't have Monster-Hunter-Language as an audio option.
If they fix performance and my pc can run it properly imma get like 500 hours easy out of base game
I just hope master rank is already available and isn't hidden on an DLC.
That has always been the case for MH games. Master Rank (G-rank) has always been in the expanded versions.
If master Rank was just apart of the base game, then the future expansion would be less interesting.
@@lilfuzzballa sadly i got used in MHFU where i get Grank / Mrank already not locked away in a paywall.
The paywall IS mhfu, better a dlc than having to buy and play through an entire game again like pre mhgu/world
@@harrisonyoung3857 wait.... how come it's a paywall when it's an actual full game?
Use your head a lil, every generation before world didn’t have dlc, but another version of the game, completely the same, except for the added g rank. Freedom unite is an expansion on freedom, except back then, instead of paying for a dlc to access master rank, you had to buy a whole new game, same as the one you already played for half of it, and costed more than a dlc would. Freedom unite IS the paywall. It’s much better now as you just buy the dlc by itself instead of the same game twice.
FEED ME MORE GAMEPLAU I NEED THE GAME TO COME OUT 😭😭😭😭
😅 noice rember me mh world and rise waiting for each title updatp for farming a new set with the new monster from the updatp...
yeah I got 1k hours on MHWorld and I'd say only about 150h are in base game, there rest is just iceborne
Damn i'm too early.
Or just in time.
If this is a noobs first MH game they would have no expectations from iceborn as its a first 🥴
Plus 99% of the people watching this video are definitely not MH Noobs.
They need better optimization first.
Meanwhile all my 3 slots saves on mhgu 9999 hours... through out the years I did it
When someone asks how long I been playing monster hunter games all I say is not much and if I can send um a photo of my 3 slots of no life hard work
I hope we get free update monters like in world/iceborne
I'm not going to be an A-hole and spoil everyones experience, but I do want to set expectations so people won't be disappointed on release for the monster count.
Spoilers
Datamine shows 31 monsters as of now unless there's stuff scrubbed. It's comparable to World, but I don't want people expecting in the 40s
