And painful recoveries and ptsd for 17 wounded and ptsd for the children and teachers who witnessed the massacre that horrible Valentine’s Day.

      @Todd Moore Then I'm happy they lied. The death penalty is murder. Also, a death sentence would have hurt his siblings because they would have been forced to grieve like the victims' loved ones. I truly wonder if anyone sitting in that courtroom (minus the defense and jury) considered that. Btw, I know that Nicholas Cruz is guilty and that he was of sound-ish mind when he decided to kill people. I also have unlimited compassion for the victims' loved ones. She isn’t even really putting up a defense, it’s mostly over and over again telling them they will feel guilty and have to live with the fact of killing someone. She is trying to shame them. Yes, those innocent children didn't have a choice but we are not in any position as human beings to decide whether someone lives or dies. It's barbaric and something I don't think I could live with personally. I think life in prison no parole is sufficient justice. AGAIN MY OPINION.

      @spongebob8445 Год назад +3

      @@jennacarroll9200 That's a valid opinion mainly because sentencing someone to death is an evil thing to do.
      On one hand you have people out there who would only vote for a death sentence if they believed the criminal was afraid of dying, but would want the opposite for him if he tried to take his own life.
      The ideology of an eye for an eye on breeds more hate and evil into the world.
      If he's locked up somewhere with his freedoms taken away as punishment for the rest of his life he not only has to live with what he did on his conscience, but he would be unable to ever harm the public again.
      That logically should be enough for people to have peace of mind and comfort in knowing that he has been dealt with, but the death sentence is a polished way of voting for *revenge* on that individual.
      It's true that some people fear death, but the moment he did the crime he risked the possibility of being gunned down by someone who was willing to stop him.
      Since that obviously didn't happen leading us to this point ; there's no need to take more life. Only way I would vote for someone 'legally' taking a criminals life is if there's a possibility that he could bring more harm to others or go free after a set number of years.
