The Legend when he was the one who knew how the fire was started and then finding Reckless and then the moment at the end of the episode between him and John when he says we knew Daddy, and John says " the boy would have told but the man didn't". I don't think any single television episode from any series had more of an impact on me than The Gift with guest star Ron Howard. I was about 11 when that episode aired. I cried like a baby at the end ... and then I was sad for days after. Though I own all of The Waltons DVDs, I've never rewatched that episode. I don't think I can ever stand to mourn like that again. It was well-written and well-performed ... perhaps too well. Another great episode Judy. I met Jon at the Memphis Film Festival years ago, and he was very nice.

So many wonderful memories to share with us. I'll never forget the look on the faces of john n Olivia when they learned the Baldwin sisters wanted to adopt jason. My fave song of his is ironing board blues. Very contagious rhythm. Music is very special to me and I admire his talent.
One of my favorite episodes with Jason was the one where he's trying to decide whether to be a conscientious objector. I loved the scenes with he and Mary Ellen.
I have A Walton’s Christmas cd. I bought many years ago in Nashville Tn. Mine has the recipe for Applesauce Cake in it. I think I will make it this Christmas 🎄 Loving these videos!
What a talent Jon was! I loved the way he came up with "ironing board blue's" on the show. Just watching Grandma's rythmn while she was ironing, lol. The Gift was so heartbreaking, but the music they played with the apple wood recorder was beautiful. I love the way the lose of his best friend made him so much wiser so he could help Elizabeth understand about losing a favorite teacher and friend. Very bitter sweet.
I thought I knew everything about The Waltons, but I guess I was wrong. I thought you were Jason's older sister. I was wrong all of these years...lol. Thanks for clearing that up & thanks for these wonderful videos.
It’s probably because of the way the kids sat around the kitchen table- it’s all in age order except that Mary Ellen and Jason were swapped. I always imagined story wise that Olivia made them swap places because Mary Ellen and Erin fought at the table too much
Oh good... glad I was able to clarify... there was a some swapping around of ages. Initially Ben was older than Erin, but in later years they made it seem Erin was older... not sure why.
I really got into Jason's character, what a sweet Brother I thought he was, and a good guy. He is very handsome the older he got, he looked so nice in his uniform! I recently saw a video of him at a reunion (Walton's 50th year, 2022), he is now a silver fox! I am glad to hear that John and his wife are living in England, I wish them the very best!!! Thank you, Judy, it was great catching up on, John/Jason!!! 🌼

@@judynorton2598 sure did ! Absolutely . Thank you . Watching the Waltons over these last nine months has given me so much comfort and pleasure . I appreciate you so much .
I consider The Waltons, Andy Griffith, Bonanza, and Little House on the Prairie as the best TV shows of all time. Todays shows don't even come close. Thanks to you Judy for enlightening us fans on the behind the scenes aspects of the show and its many great actors and the characters they played.
Judy , I loved hearing Jon "Jason" play his guitar. I loved his gentle spirit and kindness. Thank you for giving us a deeper look into each of these actors lives that we love so much . We are still growing as family together through your videos. There's a saying that most actors are people we invite into our living rooms on our TVs that we'd never want in our homes in real life. That couldn't be possible with any of you from the Walton's. You are so down to earth and genuine, just like Maryellen was.Thank you for being who you are !❤😊🙋♀️!
As a guitarist I was always pleased to see that Jon was really playing the guitar. Didn't look or sound like an over dub. Also he was sometimes playing a brand of guitar that was very expensive for now let alone the great Depression... a "C. F. Martin " brand guitar. I didn't realize he played so many instruments.
One of my favourite episodes with Jason is"The Family Tree", in which he helps Verdie to find out about her ancestry. In the 80s I had it taped and watched it quite often. I´ve always loved the special flute music, which was used in that particular episode. The whole show is filled with lovely melodies, some of them are quite memorable to me as are some episodes. "The Waltons" was truly outstanding, I still recall special episodes and what happened in my own classroom and life the day they were shown on TV. Thank you Judy for bringing back many lovely memories and sharing yours. Have a happy and healthy 2021, Mathias
I love Jon as Jason. So many episodes where his music just delights me so much. Ironing Board Blues, those crazy little dance steps he does, and there's a scene where he and Erin are doing crazy, fun dance moves in the episode where Elizabeth has her broken legs, where he's sticking out his tongue; cracks me up every time. I also love the Christmas carol that he writes and sings for the English children that they fostered, and I love the episode where he becomes friendly with the reclusive lady that never leaves her house, and he talks her into attending church with him at the end of the episode. And the episode late in the series where he performs Appalachian Portrait out on the lawn for Founder's Day, I loved that so much, with Earl narrating John Boy's writings. Oh, I could go on and on; I love Jason!
Judy, you are always so generous about your positive recollections of your fellow actors on The Waltons. It is rare for a tv series to actually cause a loving bond with castmates. I believe that is what made the series so believable. You were all acting and yet you had behind-the-scenes friendships that have lasted. What great memories. Thank you for sharing yours. Yay! So glad you enjoyed.
Your welcome i always enjoy your videos judy
So many wonderful memories to share with us. I'll never forget the look on the faces of john n Olivia when they learned the Baldwin sisters wanted to adopt jason. My fave song of his is ironing board blues. Very contagious rhythm. Music is very special to me and I admire his talent.
Great moments.
My favorite Walton's moment featuring Jon, was when the Baldwin sisters wanted to adopt Jason.😃😄
Thank you Judy. Any idea as to what the guitar maker was for the guitar Jason/Jon used in the Waltons?
Just watched that episode recently.
Yes, such fun.
We absolutely ADORE Jon. After most of his scenes, we say, "We love Jason 🤗"
That’s so sweet.
My favorite scene in season 1 was when the dog was lost and he used his harmonica to help find him.
Sweet Reckless....
One of my favorite episodes with Jason was the one where he's trying to decide whether to be a conscientious objector. I loved the scenes with he and Mary Ellen.
Me too.
I have A Walton’s Christmas cd. I bought many years ago in Nashville Tn. Mine has the recipe for Applesauce Cake in it. I think I will make it this Christmas 🎄 Loving these videos!
That is awesome!
Is that the cake Grandma put some of the "reciepe" in???
Thank you, Judy for giving us a glimpse into the lives of all the cast of The Waltons.
My pleasure, Judy!
Love this series Judy!!! We watched The Pin-up and The Parting last night.
Awesome!
Thank you for another great video! Thank you Judy.......:)
You are so welcome!
Love this, he's very talented. I own the Waltons record! Great stuff!
Very cool!
What a beautiful commentary on such a kind person! Thank you Judy! Mary
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yes indeed. Bittersweet.
If your going to say we are part of the family reunion. I'm going to say good night Marry Ellen. Another awesome video. Thanks for sharing 👍
Love that!
Jon is a really sweet person. Glad you enjoyed his work.
I’m so appreciative of your recollections and that you’re making the time to share them. I also appreciate that you’re sharing only kind thoughts. That’s a rare thing today.
Glad you like them!
Jon had the most incredibly warm and genuine---S-M-I-L-E. He just captured the frame with it. So glad he's doing well.
Yes, he did!
I have been patiently waiting for this post !! Jason is my favourite .
Hope you enjoyed it!
So glad you are enjoying these
@@judynorton2598 Oh I do enjoy them and so kind of you to take the time to respond to fans. Thank you so much !
this was most interesting!! had no idea Jon was such a musician! thank you!
Glad you thought so, and you're welcome!
I have "The One, ......Family Band".. wonderful movie..
Thank you, that is very kind of you.
Jason was always my favorite of the 7 kids! Great video!
Glad you liked it!
I was so happy to meet him as well at the reunion in New Jersey....I told him I thought he was an amazing musician...
As a guitarist I was always pleased to see that Jon was really playing the guitar. Didn't look or sound like an over dub. Also he was sometimes playing a brand of guitar that was very expensive for now let alone the great Depression... a "C. F. Martin " brand guitar.
I didn't realize he played so many instruments.
lol - I’m sure it was his own personal guitar.
I am enjoying your memories from a favorite TV show when growing up in the 1970's, thank you so much!
Glad you enjoy it!
This is wonderful!! Thank you Judy.I always admired Jon Wambly and all the instruments he played.
Good to hear.
Judy, I am watching The Minstrel right now. You are such a talented actor. This is a great episode. ♥️
Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing
Thanks for watching, JoAnn!
It is amazing! He was the only one of the "Walton kids" that used the same initials on and off screen, i.e. his guitar could be signed "JW."
I love that!
I have the "record" of the Waltons Christmas songs! I love it! Play it each year even now. Thinking right now of Jon's Mama' cake!❤❤🎄❤
Nicely done Judy ..... simply loving a look into the World of the Walton's ..... keep 'em coming! Happy Thursday from the middle of America.
Thank you! You too!
My pleasure.
In terms of the Christmas album you talked about, there are about 10 of them for sale on Amazon - in used condition, but available.
I bought one in CD form really love it didn't know they used studio musions
Good to know, Charlie.
Wow Judy, you sure soaked up the best of the Waltons, way to go girl.🇨🇦🐘💗
Thanks, Marion!:-)
ANOTHER GREAT SHOW! KEEP THEM COMING.
Thanks, and will do!
Outstanding show.
Glad you enjoyed it
Before the pandemic you could often find Jon in Anaheim Disneyland playing with a pirate band in front of The Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
That's cool!
A buddy that works there told me that. Very cool, they were lucky to have him!
Arghh!
No kidding? I wish I had known that.
That would have been the selling point for me the last time I was there in February. The cost scared me off, but that would have changed things.
The song about Grandma and the "ironing Board Blues" was always my favorite.
Lifelong musician here. I was surprised to hear him play the blues at the club in later episodes.
Very talented in many genres.
I love watching him play so many 🎷 🎺 🎹 he is so gifted and loved watching him as a great big brother
Thanks, Tina!
You forgot Richard Conningham, Opie's older counter part. I enjoyed the video very much Thanks.
Very true.
I love Jon. Thank you for always giving me a smile.
Hello Joann 👋👋👋
Its funny that you mention that CD...I'm listening to it right now. : )
Cool!
I agree, he is so versatile and so incredibly talented.
I love me the one when he told daddy he want to study music stands of working in the mill
My favorite as well!!!!!!
(Patricia, Jerry's wife)
Thank you, Patricia. We feel so lucky to have formed these bonds.
