Hello John and greetings from the United States. We love reading comments like yours, especially from my viewers across the pond. You just made our day....thank you.
Been using Aguila (Spanish for Eagle) since the pandemic. It was the only ammo we could find for quite sometime! 22LR & .380 with almost zero issues in my multiple pistols & rifles. It is now my go-to exclusuvely for .22LR! Living my best La Vida Loca here in south eastern Arizona P.S.... it does indeed smell very different than any other .22 ammo i have EVER used!
I've used this ammo on numerous occasions. I have had nothing but positive experience with it. Yes it does have a particular smell to it. It's the smell of Mexican freedom.
I’m gonna comment before I watch the video. We started buying this stuff when ammo was scarce to give it a try. Me and my two buddies like it a lot. Our gun store regularly has it for like $5.00 a box of 50. And we still shoot cci mini mag too in some of our semi-autos but this stuff is great for the price.
I use it as well just plinking my sw 15 likes cci 40 grain most of the lighter grains have trouble with having enough ouff to work the slide imo thanks
I think Skynard wrote a song about Aguila ammo Ooo That Smell. It performs well 95% of the time & is accurate. Certain 22s prefer the lead over the copper plated but can't beat it for price. Thanks for the fun & I love that Charger. 🙏👍🇺🇸🎯
It cycled perfectly in my Henry and Marlin 22 rifles. It wouldn’t even fit in the cylinders of my Ruger Single Six or Heritage 22 revolvers. Maybe if I really really forced it but then I don’t know how easy it would be to eject. And both revolvers were cleaned prior to shooting.
Man. I recently got a Ruger lcr 22lr, been trying some different ammo, with the Aguilar super extra the spent casing's stick in the cylinder, you have to really hit the eject rod, the CCI and Remington pop right out !
That "funny smell" (3:33) is cayenne pepper powder. Aguila adds it to the mix to make hotter rounds. BTW; If you pop the bullet out of a round with your Leatherman and sprinkle the powder over your chili-mac it's really tasty. 😉😉
Great shooting as always. I've never understood the attraction to 22lr AR style pistols and rifles with the fake oversized magazines, knowing they can't fire anything but 22lr. It's kinda like chrome hubcaps or racing stripes on a stock pickup. I have a lot more respect for the 22 charger's design. It's not trying to pretend to be something that it's not.
Great video as always gents! I have used Aguila ammo in my SW m&P15-22, and it likes it fine. I do notice it makes the gun a little dirtier when it come to clean up, but I can find it on sale quite often that always helps. See ya next time!
Had a similar experience with my 15-22. Adjusted the ejector to bolt clearance and upgraded the extractor. Now it is 100% reliable other than the occasional failure to fire. Easy to do and cost less than $25.00. Will run anything I have put through it. Auto Match has given me the most failure to fire though.
I really like the 40 grain super extra in my P17. It runs flawless. My buddy and I call it Mexican mini mags lol. The ballistics are about the same. Nice video as always.
This .22 ammo is fantastic for bulk ammo. I cleaned out my local bass pro and purchased 10k rounds of it since they no longer have a limit per customer.
I have had great experience with Aguila 22LR, very consistent and reliable and accurate. I have some solid point Subsonic my 10/22 runs suppressed just fine, the 38 grain hollow points will NOT run at all! Also, it is one of the best priced stuff around 5-10 cents a round.
When I find this stuff, I buy a couple boxes at a time. I have many other brands of 22lr, but this is my favorite bulk. All the Aguila 22 I have shot has been very reliable.
I bought some back when 22lr got hard to find. Haven’t shot any of it yet but it seemed to have a slightly thicker rim. I was going to save it for my 9422 or a bolt action single shot.
I like this ammo and i like the 124 gr 9mm ammo too. Both have pretty nice power and ive never had an issue with either. Love watching you guys shoot and have a good time! You're both awesome shots and i really enjoy your channel. Thank you fellas.
I have had nothing but fantastic luck with Aguila ammo. And it is quite accurate. I bought 20,000 rounds of both the super extra and a standard velocity back when it was four cents a round. Well I hope Ed enjoyed his jog home hahaha. I'd say maybe try a rock throwing contest next time, but the old man seems to be pretty good at that also 😜
I've been itching to get an OD green P17 like yours. I have a TX22 and one of the newer target Berretta 21a's, but would love something different like the Keltec
The Agulia Super Extra has been very good ammo in my Ruger 10/22 rifles and my Ruger Mk3 pistol. Good price, accurate and reliable. Thanks for another great video!!
My experience has been Ruger will shoot any ammo. Every Ruger I have has been super reliable. Thank for your efforts. I really enjoy your father, son antics.
There were extractor issues with M&P 15/22's for years on and off. They are stamped and often had burrs that prevent reliable extraction. I replace them with Volquartsen extractors (laser cut and tumbled) and those cases that don't clear the bolt go away. I have shot many thousands of rounds of Aguila rimfire in the past, but mostly avoid it now because of inconsistentcy. Some bricks would be great, and others too inconsistent to be reliable and fun.
Always great to see you guys together, having fun and shooting, you are both great shots. I have shot Aguila ammo it runs fine in my rifles haven't tried it in any hand gun besides my dad's old single six. It does have a smell to it , the armscor 22 lr has that wax to it . Hope you guys had a good new years
So far we are really enjoying the new year and we had fun making this video, our first one this year. It is always good to hear from you and we hope you have an awesome new year.
I have tried both the 38 gr hp and 40gr solid Super Extras. In the lots I purchased, the 40's had too much wax and were not only "sticky" in the chamber, but also hang up in the magazine. Oddly, the 38 hp's run flawlessly. I buy it up when it's on sale for 35.00 per 500.
I've shot several boxes of Aguila 250 and 500 round boxes in 38 gr and 40 gr at a 25-yard target. Acracy is about as good as cci and I haven't had any misfires. I would buy more any day of the week.
My experience with this ammunition brand has been subpar at best, and it all has to do with the metallurgy in the cases. They don’t hold shape, expand in the chamber, and then fail to extract due to the SUPER EXTRA expansion locking the case in tight.
Thank you for the video. I agree about the funny smell from the Aguila ammo. I also found it fouls the actions of my Ruger 10/22 and S&W M&P 15-22 in about a quarter of the time of that for CCI ammo so I went to CCI exclusively. In any event, I truly enjoy your shooting videos. You are both very good shooters.
Shot that ammo last weekend and 1st thing I noticed was the smell. lol! Glad you mentioned that. Otherwise it was flawless for me. No jams or misfires.
Still love the entry, yeah I'm a Trek fan.😄Your channel is so down to earth, and easy going. Always great information, when it's good it's good when it's crap you let us normal folks know.
I'm guessing the bolt isn't cycling fully to the rear on the random slightly lower pressure round. S&W could probably use a "tiny" bit more gas porting. Always fun watching you two.
I have a very picky Walther P-22 that I use mainly as a training firearm for the kids and grand-kids. I bought some Aguila 38gr Ammo and my Walther loves it. We can shoot all day with a problem so now I have a separate stash of it just for this pistol. It also works great in all of my other 22LR firearms but I'm keeping it just for the Walther so I don't run out. Love your videos, would love to spend a day with you guys shooting as it reminds me of the desert area I use to shoot at outside of San Diego while I was stationed there. Thanks for sharing your fun.
LOL, the ending was funny. Seems like was always 2nd round jammed in the S&W. Looks like not Stony enough ammo to fully blow the slide back or maybe tight feed lips on the magazine when fully loaded (need decompress spring by leaving loaded a while). Love these videos. Always look forward to them.
Another great video! Thinking about getting one of those Kel Tec's from just watching your videos! I have found the same think with the Aguila ammo. Some do and some don't. Thanks Mixup!
Hey Mixup, I bought myself a Kel-Tec p17 today from my LGS. Can't wait to get to the range and try it. After watching your Kel-Tec P17 video and all the other videos you had it in, I had to have one.
Great video having fun on the range with you 2!😎👍 …In my Ruger LCP 2 22LR , CCI mini mags and stingers constantly have failures to fire… The hollow points have consistent failures to feed…. Ironically, the only ammo that will cycle reliably through my LCP 2 is Aguila Super Extra in a 40 grain round nose copper plated…I’ve tried Aguila Super Extra Hollow Point and I get failures to feed…Evidently certain guns like certain ammunition, especially 22LR….
Thanks for the video. I've been thinking about getting some Aguila super for my 10/22. Winchester bulk is not good in the 10/22. The only .22 ammunition that my 10/22 doesn't like.
That Aguila definitely has a unique odor - akin to dirty armpits. I've shot a few different flavors of the brand. I was really happy with the match pistol ammo in my Ruger MkII 22/45 and first generation Browning Buckmark.
Hi from Pennsylvania buddy Jeff. As always awsome video . I really enjoy seeing you and your son I hope you have a prosperous and blessed new year. For New years i took my grandpaps 1894 30 wcf. To work and we each celebrate ated new years by shooting 1 round. I hope grandpaps heard it in heaven. It was made in 1909. I got a Pennsylvania doe with it this year. . God bless Nevada looks beautiful. Iv never been to a desert.😊
Hey mixup greetings from Germany just bought a few packs of that ammo gonna try it soon in my 1911 colt 22lr made by walther I found it to be a bit picky on ammo cci blazers gave me best reliability so far.... Ps always a blast watching you have shooting in the desert and plink we are very limited over here just mainly paper targets in indoor ranges. Bless you and your family 👍
The Agullia do really well grouping in my Henry H001 and my Herritage Roughrider, but my Arminius not so much. You ate ight aboucheecking a variety of ammo in each fire arm, especialy rim fire
Ive heard the S&W 22 can be pickey with ammo. I have the Ruger charger with a brace. It has never failed. And is a blast to plink. I have a S&W AR15. It has never failed, and, is my shtf firearm. Good review.
I have a Sig Sauer Model 322 and it is quite picky as to which ammo will function reliably in it. I have had really great results with the Aguila, both the 38 and 40 grain bulk ammo. I have found it to be superior in reliability against Winchester Wildcat and Remington Golden Bullet bulk ammo. The Aguila works best of those three in all of my 22 plinkers. The first thing you will notice is that the rounds have a sticky feel to them from being coated with what I am assuming is paraffin, but feed and function most reliably. Like many, I am out for cheap ammo, but when the rounds won't feed or fire, you haven't saved any money. Lately the Aguila has been on sale frequently online. I hope this helps someone, I feel like I wasted hard earned money buying bulk Winchester and Remington ammo because I remember it being good as a kid in the 70's only to be disappointed now.
Maybe it was my Heritage SA revolvers, but Aguila 22lr (range) ammo gave me A LOT of trouble. Ran fine through my rifle, but not through my SA revolvers. No trouble w/the other cheap ammo (Armscor, Thunderbolt).......only Aguila and it didn't matter whether it was 36 or 40 grain.
Thank you for the video. I have shot the 38 grain HP and it works good. I have some 40 grain round nose to try. When i can get to the range. But it does smell and is smokey as well. 🙂👍
The Aguila 40 gr. does fine in my Tippmann m-4 semi auto 22 rifle but the spent casings will not eject from my S&W 317 22 revolver without considerable effort. It appears they swell when fired.
Hey! I've shot the Aguila .22 LR through my circa 1998 or so Ruger 10-22 Target with the brown laminated stock and solid stainless steel bull barrel with the spiral finish and it shot fine but I can't stand the STINK of that powder!!!
Fun video as always. Too bad the S&W doesn't like the Aguila Ammo. I have a Heritage .22 that has a problem with this ammo. The empty cartridge case swells up and backs out of the cylinder just enough to jam the cylinder and stop it from rotating. My thought is that the cases may be soft and thin and a hot powder charge may be the reason. The Aguila works well in all my other .22 firearms though.
Hello Dale. I haven't tried Aguila in any of my .22 revolvers. I own several, including Heritage and a Ruger Wrangler and I will try to post another video where I shoot the Aguila ammo in them and see what happens. Thanks for the heads-up.
I have mp22-15 and it didn't take bulk ammo very well I used winchester and Remington and it just had malfunction left and right but cci worked really good in it
I am in the U.K and do not personally shoot but would like to say how much I enjoy watching you and your son having fun and being safe.
All the best.

Been using Águila for about 20 years now in 22LR, 9mm and 45acp.....very good ammo. Great video Mixup & Mixup-kid.
How does the 9mm work cuz I know some handguns don't like it. Would love a cheaper option for range day
Haven't tried this ammo yet. Anxious to give it to look, see.
@@travistoor6360works great.. Been using 115and 124 grains for ages with cero issues either in JHP or FMJ
I’ve used their 22lr, 380, 9mm and 5.56 and no issues
my local academy is greedy and they set the prices the same for Aguila to match CCI and others@@travistoor6360

CCI mini-mags have been my go-to choice in my Ruger. I've had fewer than five malfunctions in over 5K rounds, pretty good for 22lr.
My “go to” for all 22’s, as well!
My P17 and Rossi love CCI.
I've used this ammo on numerous occasions. I have had nothing but positive experience with it. Yes it does have a particular smell to it. It's the smell of Mexican freedom.
Ammo isn't sold to Mexicans in Mexico.
Thanks guys! When the craziness of our world gets to me I watch your videos and I realize good men still around. Thanks Mixup and son!
I used to have a S&W M&P AR-22, I regret getting rid of it. It was very accurate and reliable
The dynamic duo strike again! That was a great video! You and your son had some hilarious scenes together!
Love your videos! So special being able to hang out with your son. I’d watch even if y’all were reviewing slingshots! 😎

I have found the same thing with that Aguila ammo.
It shoots pretty good in most of my guns, and it does have a peculiar oder to it.

I had a feeling you were going to drive away 😂😅🤠🤠🇺🇸🇺🇸always great to see you guys out there
😁👌
Nice video. Ironically, the only .22 I have that doesn’t like Aguila is a S&W Model 34. Not less than one per cylinder that misfires.
I’ve had good luck with it
Aguila has been my 22lr ammo from day one. Super extra is really good, but all of my .22 firearms eat Aguila Interceptors like candy.
The Aguila 40 gr. does fine in my Tippmann m-4 semi auto 22 rifle but the spent casings will not eject from my S&W 317 22 revolver without considerable effort. It appears they swell when fired.
Family fun! Starting seriosly, anding up throwing rocks! I JUST LOVE THIS. Doing it the same!
My son and I have a blast making this video and we are glad to hear that you loved it. Thank you!
Your experience with Aguila ammo is similar to mine. Not a deal breaker though. Thanks for the great information.
I ran Aguila in a Taurus TX22 and only two failures in 2500 rounds... It has been as reliable as CCI Stingers and Federal punch in my .22's.
Awesome....thanks for sharing!
Good shooting my friends, as always watching from central florida 😁
Iv shot Aguila alot in past. It's usually discounted at store. I hold it up there with cci.
I have mp22-15 and it didn't take bulk ammo very well I used winchester and Remington and it just had malfunction left and right but cci worked really good in it
😂😂 end was funny ! You’re a good team!
Picking up my new p17 tonight. Got the black one because it was on sale.
Awesome! Enjoy your new pistol, stay safe, and thanks for watching our video.
Enjoy your videos. Like the Keltec. If you ever get a chance to test a Ruger Mark 4 22/45 Lite . Great shooter. You would like it.
