While not a city, I would love for y'all to try and pronounce Kecoughtan!
Four years later and I'm here to say the same thing. If you can pronounce Kecoughtan, you are a Virginian, without a doubt!

The locals gave me SUCH a hard time because I knew how to pronounce their hometown and they didn't! Beautiful little town, though.
There are so many others... The Eastern Shore alone could be a video by itself!
I used to work with someone that pronounced Buchanan the same way. I wonder if he had ancestors from around there.
Folks named Buchanan in that part of the Valley pronounce it the same way as the town.

As a native Virginian, you can always tell when someone is NOT a native....just ask them to say Norfolk.

I'm from Virginia and can't pronounce most if these 😂🤣, granted I'm from Northern Virginia, just outside of DC.
Thats why... The rest of VA doesnt count NOVA as part of the state. Just say DC like you want to.
