- In this video, I compare an authentic Cartier bracelet to a replica one in order to find out if paying the hefty price tag of a real one is actually worth it!
The white gold Cartier LOVE bracelets in the classic are sold for $7000 USD on the Cartier website and in their boutiques as well. The replica sells for only $20 USD. That’s over a $6000 price difference, which is insane!
At first glance, when you don’t have an authentic bracelet to compare it to, the fake one actually looks good and the level of detail is very impressive. The fake bracelet even comes with a similar inscription on the inside.
Once you take a closer look however, it quickly becomes apparent that the level finesse, craftsmanship and quality is lacking when it comes to the replica.
I take the time to compare everything from the width and thickness of the bracelet, to size of the screws, the inscription inside the bracelet, the weight difference as well as the difference in colors between the two.
Now I will not mention where the replica bracelet in this video was purchased since I do not like encouraging the whole replica world or industry and to be very honest, I don’t even know where the bracelet was purchased. It was borrowed from someone I know. SOOO I guess you can kind of guess where I stand on this whole debate!
But let me know, do you think the $6000 USD price difference is worth it? I’d love to know!

And that "feeling" of wearing the real one is confidence. Confidence comes from one, and not a bracelet. That's the same logic as "lucky underwear".

Thank you for this video . I bought the exact replica, that you showed here, a while back. It’s funny, when I bought it online it said nothing about looking like the love bracelet I just thought it was a stainless steel bracelet. Anyway, it showed up looking just like a real love bracelet. Today I received a genuine Love bracelet, albeit the small version, and it’s fabulous.
I forgot to say, that I really did wonder if my other bracelet was real. When I found your video, you showed the serial numbers etc, and that was the deciding factor…it’s counterfeit

A lot of celebrities are and have been wearing dupes for years 🤭 I say wear what you love ❤️ and can afford. I’m saving for a real one 🫶🏾 but wouldn’t look down on someone wearing a dupe . I wonder if the replica is wider because it’s a 20? I wonder whether the smaller sizes are slimmer. Just a thought. But I do notice that the undertones are vastly different. I wonder if that’s because white gold is mixed with platinum so maybe there’s some residual yellow gold that becomes apparent? I’m not an expert, but that makes me interested. I do love the white gold color, however. My Love Ring is yellow gold, but I do love white gold. Thanks for the video!
Hello! The width of the bracelet shouldn't change according to the size chosen for your wrist. The replica is just off in terms of measurment. Indeed, the yellow undertone is either due to the metals chosen to be mixed with the 75% of gold, or the rhodium plating is wearing off. Thank you for watching my video 😍
Thanks for the video I found a replica while cleaning out a storage unit and for a few days I been thinking I struck gold literally lol but turns out it's fake. The weird thing is tho that my bf took it to be appraised and one place told him it is authentic gold tho so it gave me hopes but it has the same serial number as your fake so it has to be fake. The giveaway is the replica is very shiny, Cartier doesn't plate whitegold with rhodium if it doesn't come with diamonds.

The replica is made of stainless steel. And the original is 750 gold which I'd yellow gold mixed with white metals which will have a yellow tinge.... I do believe that they rhodium plate them since the one in the video looks dull, and "spotty".... Hence she said that they "change color".

Hello! It's hard to say, but probably stainless steel or some other type of cheap compound metal. Yes, I wouldn't see any problem to get it wet on a daily basis. What's the worst that can happen anyway, it's a counterfeit bracelet for 20$ 😂 Take care!
I am buying a replica to see if I like it enough … once I know I love it, I will go to jeweller and get that made in 18k gold with minor change (to save from copyright issues) and that will be 1/4th of the price.

They are scratched up because they are used. It's not part of the design. Metals get scratched over time when it's being used!

Who would spend thousands of dollars for a superclone made of 18k gold? Not sure there is a market for that. People usually wants to ''look rich'' while spending as least as possible.

No, the fake one is in another material probably some type of stainless steel or titanium from memory. Lighter in weight.

You can’t compare a $20 fake to the real thing. There are some real 18k exact replicas that are less than half the price that you wouldn’t be able to tell.

I can spot a replica a mile away. I wear a yellow cuff and a white gold traditional screw on cartier love bracelet on my right wrist stacked. The screws on replica are oversized and sloppy looking. The tint on the fake is super silver looking stainless steel. White gold will always have a warm Grey look to it because it's just yellow gold melted with palladium or rhodium to give it that white look. Where my two parts meet together, it is almost impossible to see the crease (almost laser cut looking) . The authentic is a lot heavier than the fake even though the fake will always have more mass. The inscription serial number with metal content , country of maker and all hallmarks are always going to be smaller yet deeper on the authentic and the fake will have super large letters. The screwdriver to real bracelet will say Au 750 p-c. Just states that the tool from cartier has been plated in precious metal. The fakes never have any stamps. I really like how small , tight, clean and non Bushwa / goddy looking the authentic piece is. I work with some people that wear the fakes and I can always tell by the 1mm wide gap in between the 2 arches. No quality control on these Countries that make these. Also the serial number is always like ip6688 or something similar 😆 🤣. Thanks so much for making this video. Very good comparison. 👍

In my experience, the principal difference and easy one to spot a replica are the side screws. In the replica’s ones, 90% of them, has a flat side screws, and not the more “raise” like the original.

I’ve seen them in store and they don’t look that great with sharper edges than I’d like.
I tried one on and all I could think is that it just looks like you’re wearing one of those stainless steel bangles with “le vie on rose” written on or something for €12

This is a cheap replica !! For 20$ ... They are doing ones in real gold that even Cartier workers and Designers cant spot them, but here we are talking about real gold. 33 grams of gold = 1200$ so you cant compare à bracelet not made of gold to the Gold Cartier.

So Cartier made a $6800 dollar profit on a bracelet with 30 grams of 75% pure gold.
They both look bad and scratch would never pay $7,000
