    "I will talk to anyone".....The power there.....at his age. Absolutely amazing.

    Saw Peter at Maple Leaf Gardens back in the 1980s. How does he sound better now? Astonishing talent. A true genius.

      He had a very talented former Genesis bandmate drumming on this track along with Intruder. I think that guy went onto a little bit of solo success himself.

    At any given time in my life, there is always at least one Peter Gabriel song that reflects my state of being in music.
    "I walk on through the rain, and I don't know how to stop."

    I was lucky to see this tour - I think it's possibly the best I've heard him sound live. The band was so insanely on point. He always puts on a good show, but this one was really special.

      Peter's has always been blessed with some great drummers! He actually started out on the drums himself, and obviously was instrumental in hiring Phil Collins onto Genesis.

    This is my favorite version of this song, but I wish it was mixed better. There’s so much compression from 2:41-3:21, it takes away from the power in that part of the song

      He changed mic and it was peaking badly. Could have been deliberate but I doubt it. At least it's not a lip sync.

      Agreed it sounds bad in spots but I’m actually thinking they had issues with other instruments bleeding into the vocal mic - especially during the bridge with the distorted vocal. You’ll notice when Peter is singing, the cymbals are also very loud with a lot treble but when he pauses the cymbals are pulled back down and aren’t as bright. Almost sounds like a reverse ducker but I think they had some trouble with bleeding and attempted to fix it with filters and limited reverb.

      @macaroon666 4 года назад +2

      @@petergamble9436 you can hear the music is phasing out when he jumps back on the keyboard. it's a shame because pretty much every mixing board or tracking software comes with a button that flips the polarity and eliminates phasing, even post-production they should have noticed it. it isn't an issue with the rest of the mics, but when they switch peter's mic feed to his keyboard it all sounds really phased and bad.

    • @petergamble9436
      @petergamble9436 4 года назад

      @@macaroon666 that makes more sense - thanks for the reply. I don’t think it’s an issue they consistently had - I bought the show discs when he was at Mohegan Sun and I don’t remember any issues there.

    That drummer is great, but why on earth would you change the original drum sound on this song?
    Bad idea no matter how you slice it.
    The song loses it's entire pacing & feel played differently.
    All the intensity and paranoia of it is just gone...
