Great video Ben! Finally tackling the idea of flat bottom bunkers and this helped me out drastically!

Another reason a lot of older courses have that slope down onto the green behind these bunkers is that every golfer that shoots out of the bunker will spray sand onto the lip of the bunker and onto the green. This builds up over time and makes these slopes more and more severe over time. Glad you mentioned that at the end as it can add to the realism and immersion of a course. I was fortunate enough to be part of a bunker renovation in Australia that had 3 feet of pure bunker sand on top of the original topsoil the turf was grown on.

Any tips for getting larger, more complex bunkers nice and flat? I'm really struggling to get the flat look for bunkers of different shapes. If you knew of any tutorial vids out there that shows this that would be fantastic. Also, just played Huntington Sound, great work!

Thanks for that tutorial. I have been trying to add a surface area to the raised portion of turn in front of the bunker (like a dirt mulch) but the texture doesn’t go right to the bunker. Always a ring of rough surrounding it. Wondering if you have had tried doing this or know how to do it successfully?

Unfortunately, there's no way to do that - the surface 1/2/3 don't mesh with bunkers no matter what you do, so that heavy rough will always be there.

Where are those walls that pot bunkers have

What the game really lacks is the ability to just create the true pot bunkers found on our links courses in the UK, where they're really deep and the face is basically an 80 degree wall in front of you and you can see the stacked layers of turf. If they could add that as a feature you could just drop in, that would make such a difference!

Wish I knew this 2 months ago 😂
I did something completely different on Dunstan Head. I tended to sculpt the area around the bunker (essentially making a mound which would form the face, and then dropping the hard edged circle brush into the side of the slope. Probably not as neat as this method by the look of it.

Thanks Ben, really helpful (and I bet links design in this game would benefit from this greatly). By the way, Playa Saona was really good. I know quite a few people on the forums aren't so partial to that style of architecture (although the hidden templates are much appreciated!) but it was a lot of fun.
