This twin turbo LSX swapped, Roadstershop Chassis Chevelle is almost ready to hit the road! On the last episode, you saw us fabricate a complete custom exhaust out of Vibrant oval piping a mufflers. Now it's time to see how it sounds!
Before we turn the big block LS over, we have a few things to take care of first! We have to wrap up our exhaust with some heat protection to keep the temperatures managed at the back of the car where the exhaust gets close to the fuel tank. We're also priming our fuel system, as well as priming our oiling system. We want to make sure when we crank the LSX over for the first time that we don't score the interval components or destroy the bearings. The same goes for our two garret turbos!
But once the engine is primed with oil, we can turn the gas on and hear this baby sing for the very first time! And it sounds amazing! Next stop: the dynamometer! We're going to take the Chevelle down to Miami to start the tuning process on this insane boosted Chevy! So make sure to like and subscribe so you don't miss it!
Man this page is so under rated for their work
Sad but true
There's a lot of process in here, and true gear heads are here for it, but sadly mere enthusiasts get bored with the detail and click out, which makes the algorithm reduce how often their vids are shown.
Keep sharing their videos off platform. That'll help.
I'm with Andrew... two fat red stripes down the middle of the hood, matching the fenders.
That engine bay is truly awesome. A work of art and the sound is sweet.
Thank you!
Beautiful work! The car has a lot of detail. IMO, painting the entire hood red would be a cleaner look because of one color transition. A black detail in the form of a stripe or other highlight would work. However you do it though, it will look good.
Paint the hood on the same color and add satin black horizontal stripes following the contour. Only in the scoop and maybe top corners of the hood. Also you could add the rims color in the first stripe only to balance the colors on the car.
Waiiiit a second they put a f80 m3 dct in her?! That’s amazing!!!!❤❤❤
Yup! We took a trip to attacking the clock racing a while back in the series and he went over all the modifications he did to the transmission to get it ready for the Chevelle!
Definitely paint the hood! 👍
Black rally stripes would look cool. I think you need them since you blacked out the rest of the car. Would round off the look.
Wow, that engine sounds great, can’t wait to hear it at full noise. Another amazing episode.
We had to really control ourselves not to hit that rev limiter! She sounded sick!
Wide SS stripes in red would look sick. Or red hood with black stripes to match. Sounds sick AF though. It’s like a Pit Bull.
I think the red hood with black stripes is best!
Paint it red with flat black stripes... touch of classic mixed with modern flair
I like that idea!
Andrew's on FIRE in this episode, boy! 😅
+1
I would say paint matching pin stripe on the hood! Do some killer mural with it!
I like the pin-stripe idea! Give it a real old-school muscle car look!
ghost red stripes on the black hood
RED STRIPES 😅😅😅😅. Love, u guys. Keep the outstanding work.
Thank you so much!
I love this car and I fkn love this Chanel!
Well thank you! We love that yo love us. 🫶🏽
Thanks again
Agree with your hesitation re hood. I think it'd look better in the same colour as the body, maybe with some black accents if you want that
We definitely want some accents in there. We just were unsure of what kind of accents to give it!
Sounds so good!
Love the channel.
Paint it to match and do some flat black pinstripe flames. Like, outlines...
Thanks for the support!
Love this stuff. S2S FTW.
Thank you so much!
I think the hood looks unfinished, but with that maroon and rim color on it, it might look super sweet.
I like the idea of giving it some accents to match the wheels!
red color matched hood with the black ss stripes would be sick af... but color matched ss stripes with pinstripe outline could be badass aswell.. i just feel it feels unfinished black..
Definitely feels unfinished. We like the idea of the black SS stripes on a painted hood!
Definitely do something different with hood. It really clash with that beautiful paint job and body work.
We definitely agree with you there!
Also red hood with a couple white racing stripes down the center
White stripes? We think black would look a bit better with the rest of the trim!
Either or
Paint the hood red and leave the center part ( scoop area ) black.
Great! Thanks Mike and Andrew for your input and video! See you next week!
For drive and different smoking!?
The hood looks like a loaner hood while the real one is out getting painted. If it were mine I’d paint the whole thing. That’s my vote.
We like the idea of keeping some black accents on it though. What do you think?
The magician Andrew in his element. Amazing video. First smoke. Very interesting!
Already waiting for the new delivery... Thnx guys!!
Thank you for all the support!
bodycolor hood with 2 black stripes
I’d paint the hood red but mask out SS stripes so they show up as black. Extend to the trunk.
Love the Chevelle! But definately need to do something with the hood.
Hotrod flames right?
@@SalvagetoSavage haha would look cool 🔥
All red, maybe a stripe down the middle
Is it just me or was the Orange a little more 🔥
My savages ty once again 😜🔥💪🏽💪🏽🫡
I like the black hood but some matching red stripes would be sick!
First start reminds me of my 65 Nova when we switched from the old Haltech Platinum 1000 to an Elite (the tune was never great, not the ECU's fault) Smoked out the auto elec's shop and made us all cry - literally!!! Awesome work guys, not sold on the hood though as while I'm not a red car guy I think it would look better body colour or if you had to tie in the black maybe paint the bonnet body colour but add some matte black stripes?
Nothing like exhaust fumes in the morning to wake you up! I think you're right about the hood. Needs to be color matched with some small black accents!
Looking good can’t wait to see it on the dyno!
I might try a couple wide rally ghost stripes in the car color on the hood? As long as the bumper stays the same color I think it’s fine.
That's a good idea! The bumper is staying black!
You guys do amazing work! but I do have to mention you can still see a lot of orange through the undercoat and trunk liner, looks like a couple steps were skipped there.
At some point, that trunk is going to get finished out so you won't be able to see any of that!
Beautiful car and job !
Thank you!
Can't wait to see it finished. I'd do the whole middle section of the hood red, but leave the scoop black and the sides of the hood black as well.
I'd go with the old school rally stripes, but maybe have the stripes be carbon fiber instead of flat black. Bring a little of today into yesterday's older gen muscle.
If we did carbon fiber it would have to be a wrap. I think layering real carbon fiber on there would be too thick compared to the painted surface
All red hood would do it much better justice i think. would be cool to put LED strips inside the "headlight" air intakes to give them a sort of headlight look at night
We would have to find a way to get light shining in there without having a light actually in there. The last thing we want to do is suck some LEDs through our turbo!
@@SalvagetoSavage very true. Not a healthy snack for turbo 😅
So close ❤ too much black going on i think matched hood and billet grill to go with turbo inlets would look good satin black SS stripes for fun❤❤❤❤
Before u stripe the hood wrap it in a glossy carbon. Also bring those headlights into the 21st century by subcontracting a modern headlight builder.
Carbon would be cool! But we're not sure how we feel about a carbon wrap. I think we would have to go with an overlay if we did that!
i think all black assesories, bumpers, grill wheels mirrors and dark tint on the windows. and the hood red like the rest of the car would look the best.. crisp and clean.
my personal opinion says you should paint the whole hood, fully painted cars look the best in my opinion
Maybe you could paint the hood the same color as the car & then do 2 stripes the length of the car...I think that might look cool.
I don't think adding stripes all the way down the car is a viable option at this point unless the stripes are vinyl! We're too committed to the solid color body!
Red rally stripes
I love this car y'all, personally for hte hood I would color match to car and leave two racing stripes as the black so it has black stripes
Yeah leave it black with matching color stripes
I vote paint the hood body color..... I saw you helping Derek VGG at the burnout rivals.... that's awesome
lol, yah he was a cool guy I hope to get him by the shop one day
@@SalvagetoSavage that would be awesome. I know he could use a little help with Longmire to get more travel in the rear air suspension
Nice...
The hood definitely needs something going on. it looks decent, but also unfinished as you said. Bringing the red over to the first line on either side would make for a very unique look. Could even work to just add a bit of pinstriping to the front of the hood.
Love the heat shield material, I have a purpose for some of that. Thanks for sharing!
You should get the hood pinstriped in a matching color.
Love the Chevelle Build!!
Rally stripes add 30 horsepower!
How much horses would hotrod flames add?
@@SalvagetoSavage ha ha. Easy way to find out! Can’t wait to see what direction you go.
Nice one, guys.
Love to see the LSX coming to life. It's been some time, but it was worth the wait.
What's next?😊
Red on the sides of the hood and pin stripe the nose.
Where did you get the material you covered the fuel return lines. Nice stuff for sure! Awesome job all the way around!!!
What if you do 2 thin off centered lines on the hood? opposed to the typical 2 huge ones up the middle…
I like that idea! We might have to do some mock up designs with some tape first
Red stripes
I think the black alone is not enough; find a way to put some kind of red stripes
For sure!
The hood definitely looks unfinished. Its the same color as the black primer new body panels come in out the box.
Your books have to be completely full.
Color match the hood with ghost flames...
Ghost flames would be the way to go!
@@SalvagetoSavage a subtle touch that will make necks snap back for a double take
Could adding pneumatic pressure to the oil lines cause the oil filter leak? How do you release the pressure? Maybe just take oil filler cap off?
In theory it could, but you also have to remember, the system builds oil pressure when it's running. We weren't shooting a whole ton of pressure through those lines. Just enough to help prime our passage ways before turning it over!
Yeah I thought the same (I.e. wrap) and then it would t be much thicker that a coat of paint. Are the wheels on the car the ones that will stay? If so would the bronze color as rally stripes be something to consider as well?
The wheels are staying! But the owner is thinking about changing the color of the barrels! lol
Hmm ... It looked like the exhaust manifold in the engine bay did leak quite a bit - or am I wrong?
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
is that an Ineos Grenadier at the back?
Yes there sure was. We changed out the shocks and modified the steps
I don't dislike the black hood, but I definitely could like it more with something different. lol I do like the idea of the red sides and black center.
I need that clamp you used in the vice in the last Episode and this one for holding the exhaust. Where can I find one?
Whole bonnet same colour as the rest of the car, im my humble opinion.
When are the cups shipping out?
If you bought them in the last week or two, you should have already gotten a tracking number! If not, shoot us an email, or send us a message on IG!
It's not the color of the hood that throws me off its the finish. The satin hood with the gloss paint it throwing me off a little. Like you said it kind of makes it look unfinished. But some stripes would look sick.
I think even with a gloss hood, the black would make it stand out from the rest of the car too much
👍💪
Not fond of the black hood, definitely needs some fat racing stripes with some pin stripes on the edges.
What are you doing to the Jeep? Saw it on the lift.
It's just getting a once-over before it goes up for auction!
Paint the hood.
Yea, the hood needs something, its kind of bland compared to the rest of the car. Maybe some color matching SS stripes..
Thought I come across a great page, but after the Lincoln Continental project you turned more to that GM and LS junk!!
Oh no!
Paint match carbon fiber
Since you went with factory glass or are you going to frit the windshield/back glass?
All of the framing on the front and rear windows have been modified to be flush mount with the original factory glass!
Where can I get some of that heat shield material?
Vibrant has it
Who makes that perforated heat barrier?
We bought it through Vibrant, but not sure it’s their product
💪👊👏
First!
.
why you fill the shop with those gases? Don’t have doors?
people commits suicide that way.
Brother, alllll the doors were open, had 2 blowers running as well. We’re kinda smart around here lol. But thanks for looking out
@@SalvagetoSavage LOL
Who the F is Kyle?!
lol, kyke is the guy in the wayyyy back we hardly talk to, he drinks lots of caffeinated drinks throughout the day, ohhh and most importantly he makes these videos for us all to enjoy 😊
I hate the colour .
Great episode! As far as the hood goes, from this side of the computer it looks like it's a primered replacement hood and makes the car look unfinished. I'd keep it simple and color match it to the rest of the car. Just my 2 cents from the cheap seats.
Definitely needs a color match. But we think keep a little matte black as an accent would go a long way on this thing too!
@@SalvagetoSavage Agreed. But less is more.
@Mikey: Just want to say congratulations on your boyfriend's trans surgery, he/she looks passable as a real female. Happy for you two❤❤
Not sure who you’re referring too, or if you could really be this much of a jerk but I hope you find help because clearly you’re not in a good place in life (Mikey)
That harbor freight transfer pump tho
🤙👍
Team the beast guys, looking pronominal..
first!
Paint the hood.
Yeah boy - Bring the NOISE!
She's ready to rock!
Red ghost flames on the hood
