0:52 Sure, the Polaris RZR looks too tall and that it'll tip over, but think about it; All the weight is on the bottom. The "tall bits" are just roll bar and netting.
The speed, the over steer (it's a defender 110) the noise, the suspension (but it's defender 110) the acceleration (but it's a defender 110) is pretty much what the brain was thinking... it's like watching an arthritic heifer clear the last furlong at horse race, 4 laps ahead of the competition, its happening, but then brain can't comprehend it 😂😂 i want a bowler as me coffin 👍🏼😂
So for normal people that might be able to push to the price of a Polaris, for instance, where would one take it on a regular basis for having some fun, presuming you aren't landed gentry with your own slice of the country?
Car Guy You can find them on specific auction and race car/collector sites. Rally America has looser specs, so you can actually find more powerful cars in that class.
If you really want fun then should have added the Rally Fighter to the line up. Fully built rally car with a ls3 with 600hp. For the younger generation you might know it as the Brawler from Gta online LOL or from the movie Transformers with Mark walberge it was the government car chasing them through the corn field. Also the Rzr 900 has around 145hp not 100hp. And the new ones the rzr1000 turbo s has 245hp and if you don't want a cvt transmission then go with the Yamaha yzf1000rr which has a online 3cyl and a manual trans and/or you can get it with paddle shifters.
Well Catchpole was decidedly ambiguous about who the winner of that test was... I'll just go ahead and say I would walk away from that test wanting nothing but that gorgeous Porsche
WRC is an under stated sport, arguably the most difficult of all forms of car racing as well, Really sad to see Ford as a manufacturer drop off from WRC
It'll be easier to get an old subaru sti (a 2000-2003 shouldn't be very expensive, or with a little bit more you can go for the 2004-2005 facelifted model just for the looks, anything after that becomes pretty pricy unfortunatelly) that's already half ready for rally. Just get some good tires, a rollcage, change the drivers seat for a harness and you're good to go rallying in a budget. If you plan on having a more serious rally car than that you can then do some weight reduction by stripping all the non essensial parts like stereo, AC, rear seats etc. Eventually you can also change the suspension and if you want you can also tune the engine, not that it'll be necessary although but it's always nice to have more power.
There are also Subies from around 1990 that cost around 5k nowadays and they are already 4wd with plenty of power... I guess you only have to put better tires underneath it and equip it with a harness and nice steering wheel, pretty budget if you ask me..
I want the Nomad in an electric version I think. Should be wonderful to quietly explore villages with bad roads or no pavement at all. While having the option to attack a rally stage. Someone is making an electric Nomad, I hope they do it well. Mind you, for a short stage, a tiny battery and something like a Model 3 motor might totally suffice. With resources, I'd want tot try and fit a motor to the front axle as well. Imagine a Rally Cross capable car, but 500 kg lighter.
That Defender's exhaust note sounds like an E46 CSL. Badass.
Are any of these actual rivals to the Nomad? No. Do I care? Not in the slightest.
And that Bowlers soundtrack...good lord.
0:52 Sure, the Polaris RZR looks too tall and that it'll tip over, but think about it;
All the weight is on the bottom. The "tall bits" are just roll bar and netting.
Trust me that porche is much more likely to tip over than that polaris
EVO, this is why i love you.

This is the kind of stuff i subscribed for. Made me smile as well. Great work.
Happy to finally see Henry do a proper video after so long ;)
it should be mandated by 2017 that ALL vehicles, which includes a prius, should sound like the Bowler...effective January 1st 2017.
Even teslas?
Hmmm?..........NO EXCEPTIONS!
+Audiwan Kenobi well..add the audi's inline 5 engines rumble which might change your perception
But Rotary... Boxer... B and K series?
South Manny YG not even those.
This video is priceless, thank you! Well done, EVO!
Love this video, chill, no music (just car sounds) and beautiful accent
judging by the state of that 'Stage' the owner of it also has a thriving shock absorber and spring business.
That Fiesta!
That's the most un-Defender engine noise possible! Must've been hilarious in person.
It's all about the Nomad for me, though :D
Holy crap that Bowler Defender!! What a video, this was awesome!
5:45 That almost took the tyre off the rim !!!
You guys really do have one of the best jobs imaginable
No stage times taken? Outrage!
Bloody hell that looks like fun. Hope Henry gets a chance to rally again!
The RZR would be a lot cooler if it cost less than $15k and didn't have a CVT
Buy a used YXZ. Manual transmission and you can find them under $15k.
It's time car companies make 'road legal' livable Rally cars for the public :D
There are plenty of hot hatch track cars but nothing for the dirt
The only Evo video I've enjoyed so far
Just great
if i had a huge property in the countryside the first thing i'd do is buy a nomad and hoon all day, everyday. great video guys
GREAT video guys! Enjoyed every second of it.
..and yeah.. That Bowler sounded pretty damn good :o)
Of all the on board videos that Polaris looked like the most engaging drive for the given road conditions.
That 911 is a dream
So for normal people that might be able to push to the price of a Polaris, for instance, where would one take it on a regular basis for having some fun, presuming you aren't landed gentry with your own slice of the country?
All very good but which was fastest?, I'll assume it was the WRC car but what about the rest and where did the Ariel rank?.
A big thumbs up 👍
great viewing EVO.
I would go for a Lancia Stratos or Delta S4
Way too expensive tho and also will destroy the value.
+Vedang P could say the same thing about the Porsche.
+chris chipper No way. That Porsche is definitely not common, but looks it when compared to the Lancia's.
Lizz Le MEME Taka don't get me wrong, I love lancias, but old porsches are really expensive. A lot of the time more than deltas
+chris chipper But a Porsche needs to be driven. They keep the price also with miles on it.
got you ..thanks for the correction
awesome bro , love the 911! what car was the most fun to drive, and where did the porsche have its advantages compaired to the ford wrc car?
Ok we need a race, Catchpole vs. Harris. It has to happen.
Just wonderful. Bravo!
They are living my dream 😞
Where do i sign up?
My new favourite channel :)
thank you evo
Great video guys 👍👍👍
Yay! Henry Catchpole!
The Ariel looks like a RC buggy around corners. HOLY CRAPERONI
+Sean Hallissey Exactly!
Love the vid. Put a smile on my face. Thanks!
Baja SAE alumni, rejoice!
You haven't brought Rage buggy to the contest. Other than that, fantastic video.
Maybe I'm just getting old but your voice is getting drowned out by background noise/cars.Good video.
where is this place? does it have an specific name?
What about the Rally Fighter?
Nice video. Performance-wise, the WRC car eats all the others for breakfast, I'm pretty sure.
I could watch Henry drive on the the gravel all day
awesome stuff!!
My dad bought a bowler defender and he now races it
the fiesta wrc car, can you actually buy one?
Cliff Lee m-sport
Ha! that face in the WRC fiesta says it all.
Makes me jealous... Thinking to myself "Only $499,999 to go".
+N75911 lol so true. But are wrc spec car really for sale or are they just r5
Car Guy You can find them on specific auction and race car/collector sites. Rally America has looser specs, so you can actually find more powerful cars in that class.
***** Yeah but that season's WRC car.

best job ever!!
c'mon, take a rally fighter!
Luke Hill not road legal over here.
This is awesome
I'd love to have the ariel but want the Porsche more
Well Catchpole was decidedly ambiguous about who the winner of that test was... I'll just go ahead and say I would walk away from that test wanting nothing but that gorgeous Porsche
Should have gotten a rage buggy. 200hp and pretty much a go kart
The Bowler sounds like a 6r4.
Where is part 2?
WRC is an under stated sport, arguably the most difficult of all forms of car racing as well,
Really sad to see Ford as a manufacturer drop off from WRC
I'm trying to get dis in AsphaltXtreme
Name of the Song at 02:33?
Better than top gear 2016
The Nomad as your next long term Henry?
The 'Comet' is missing from your illustrious line up!
Simon Tam this is not GTA so it's called a Porsche NOT A COMET!
Yes!
yoh the defender man
Ariel like in test drive off-road computer game =)
I'd love to be able to have the money to kit my fiesta ST out for rally both on road and gravel but Sadly I am a poor body that loves pricey things.

Do it again with a Can Am Maverick X3
Love the nomad
did anybody see the nomad nearly lose a tire at 5:50? super awesome car, needs bead locks lol
Find a way...with someone else's car...cause I'd never scratch the shit out of my car off road lol
That's why you but a beater (a car that you just don't care and you can abuse it at the fullest).
Having one just makes everything more fun!
Nice
why not a Rage Comet R?
+Tomasz Dral were u the one who disliked the video?
cesar malabrigo mujica of course not!
vg30dett?
I'd take the Polaris happily
Sweet
Bowler wildcat

sunnyvale, deeeceeent
m-sport fiesta #siestafiesta #ecoboost #henrycatchpole #chrisharrisomcarsstyle #absolutelybonkers #teamrallyesport #legendsince1968
Off road? Looks like they're driving on a road.
Is this the whole video? 7 min is way too short to cover 5 cars
lucky man
How is this not my job?
"Polaris azzzarrrahh"
...
Huh?
Maverik x3 ..can am?
o thumbs in the wheel yikes
So I guess the Euros built a weak ass Rock Rail.
This is kid stuff.
No Rivals.
This video should be longer. Come on EVO, sort it out.
So where are the offroad moment, all i see is car racing on a gravelroad
evo should enter the Baja 1000 and see the real off road racing
Charles Gioffredi please remember that Mitsubishi has real off road credibility...they could easily build a machine for the thrills of Baja
I think he meant the show "evo" which is who produced this video.
Jonathan Cole got you ...thanks for the correction
Dakar pls
No times or results
no is not the greatest off road test
