I don't know of any Punta Cana area resorts have good snorkeling right from the beach. You pretty much have to take a snorkeling excursion. If you want good snorkeling at a resort best to go to Mayan Riviera. There are resorts on Akumal beach that have great snorkeling and you often see sea turtles there.
i wouldn't call any of these terribly luxurious. Some of these are nice places and good value for money but there are many much more luxurious hotels in DR.
@@TheBosslady0417 If you are looking to stay in DR and specifically the Punta Cana area for a luxury adult only all inclusive I would suggest that Secrets Cap Cana, Secrets Royal Beach, Hyatt Zilara, Excellence Punta Cana, Excellence El Carmen and Sanctuary Cap Cana (although there is little to no beach at Sanctuary) are all nicer than any of the ones in this video but they are also more money. I assume the new Secrets Tides Punta Cana would also fall into this category but I haven't been there or done any research on it yet but hard to go wrong with any Secrets property other than they can be pricey and I'm always leery of brand new properties until they've had some time to work out the kinks and the vegetation has a chance to mature a bit . (btw all nice luxury resorts are pricey). Secrets Royal Beach can be a pretty good value for money if you book far enough in advance (6 months or so). Lopesan is also quite luxurious and usually more affordable than Secrets/Excellence/Hyatt properties. I would say be aware that Lopesan is not an Adult only property but has adult only sections and there is a fair bit of intermingling of the Adult and family guests. The others are all full adult only properties. If you stay at Secrets Royal Beach you also have full use of the family friendly Dreams Royal beach next door and the same is true at Hyatt Zilara where you can use the amenities at the family Hyatt Ziva right next door. If you like to have more variety of restaurants and more grounds/pools to explore that can be a nice feature. You'd be hard pressed to not love any of these properties. One of the nicest properties I've ever been to is Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado which is not in Punta Cana but in the beautiful Samana region. It's absolutely stunning there and its on a small Island of its own however in my opinion it is over priced and the food is not as good as Secrets/Excellence/Hyatt properties. I would suggest you look up RUclips videos from NittyGritty travellers, Coolist, and Passport Pages they all have very informative honest, objective reviews and they all have videos ranking their top Punta Cana hotels. If I was picking one property from this group for a special occasion like yours I'd probably pick Secrets Cap Cana its consistently on many lists of top all inclusive properties in the world. (If you aren't set on Punta Cana Secrets Maroma in Mexico is absolutely spectacular and also consistently in the top 10 best all inclusives in the world lists and same is true for Excellence Oyster bay in Jamaica but its very pricey and not sure how it faired from Beryl) Hope that helps. Secrets Royal beach is easy walking distance from the commercial area but far enough away that the boats aren't a nuisance. Keep in mind that the further you get from the Punta Cana airport the rougher the water gets and the darker and courser the sand gets so the water at either Excellence property and Live Aqua is much rougher than anything in Cap Cana or Bavaro areas. If you want beautiful white sand beach and relatively calm water (Cap Cana is very calm) you want to choose Secrets Cap Cana or Royal beach, Hyatt or Lopesan. Sanctuary is in Cap Cana but it has very little beach. If beach is a priority DO NOT go to Sanctuary otherwise its a very nice resort. Secrets Tides in same area as Excellence. The beach is ok there but not fabulous. One of the most beautiful properties I've ever been to is Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado which is in the very beautiful Samana area not Punta Cana. Absolutely stunning resort but in my opinion fairly significantly over priced and food not nearly as good as Secrets/Excellence/Hyatt. Personally if I was celebrating a special occasion as you are I would likely choose Secrets Cap Cana as it is consistently ranked as one of the best all inclusives in the world. (If you aren't set on Punta Cana Secrets Maroma in Mexico is absolutely fabulous as well and also consistently on the best all inclusive lists).
