Thanks for stopping in! Dont normally film random outings but thought id give it a go ha ha. I have a few knives I would like to test in the style I do with my axes, thought there may be some value in it for some. Take care and hope you and your family are doing well!
This works great with horizontal sheath being a short blade and light handle, I have been carrying mine on a chest rig/bino harness while scouting works out well!
I use my CR2.5 just for fish and game preparation and nothing else. For small jobs like cutting rope, carving I use my Izula. For digging, chopping wood, selfdefense I use my esee5. For fishing I use my esee Arrowheads for spearing freshwater fish.
@@Scablands_Scavenger hopefully the scales on the CR3.0 will have more texture than the other 3d scales. I bought my first esse 3 when they released it in s35vn and the scales are a bit too slick for use.
great video… Been thinking of buying the cr 2.5, but being an owner of an Esee Pr 4 and an Esee Izula II, I have to come up with an excuse to buy this one. Seems pretty good for fire making, what about food prep? I believe every thing you do in the video could be easily with the PR 4… Not an easy decision… any thoughts? Thanks for your answer
Funny enough I was just talking about this on the ESEE forum. I would love to see the blade a bit longer. I am really looking forward to a stainless version, I use mine for fishing and cleaning small game. The blood and water rusts the blade extremely quick when I do not clean it immediately (winter hunting, fishing in the rain etc). I agree they should offer it in 1095 also if possible, I can see the value of both.
Yes perfect with an axe or hatchet! I like the narrow blade profile of the 2.5 for certain detail carving like the radius behind the bowl of a spoon and mainly for cleaning and butchering game. I prefer a smaller blade for de-boning meat and cleaning fish. I do like the looks of the Izula, and can see picking one up. I have been looking to spend more time with knives in the future.

Very cool little knife and excellent video, my friend! Thank you for sharing.

Appears I'm not the only one talking to the ravens.
Sweet little blade. USA made too.
Ha ha ha, yeah its tons of fun they are such interesting birds! They always get so nosy when I go out there ha ha.
Been wanting to get one of these little guys with a horizontal carry sheath.

I have a similar knife, it’s an Mtech MT-20-35 with the orange handle. There’s a lot to commend a smaller fixed blade.
I like smaller knives, I have several large knives I just never use... I normally use a small knife or an axe ha ha.
Interesting interaction with the Ravens.
They are very interesting creatures, very nosey to visitors ha ha!

Aren't the crow family the most intelligent birds?
They are very clever.

I love my CR2.5 but I haven’t used it since I got my xancudo. I would encourage you to take a look. The heat treat on esee’s s35vn is really good.
Thank you for the suggestion, I will check it out! I am also anticipating the CR 3.0 when it releases.

Bought the Xancudo as well. Very nice size. I need all the rust prevention I can get

I like mine I just wish the blade was 1/2 inch longer. The 3.0 version will be nice I just wish 1095 was an option for it not just s35

Man that little knife is the perfect size for using with an ax. I can see why you got it.
why did you go with the CR2.5 over an izula?

Where did you get the lanyard ? Ty 😃
It is home made, bank line and a carved deer antler tip.
Whats the bead in the lanyard? Is it scrimshaw?
It is a slice of deer antler. Just a simple pattern I put on my field toys, kind of personalization I guess.
What sheath are you using with the knife?
It is one I made myself, a bit of a prototype.
What is the little folding stove called
The stove is a Firebox Nano G2, stainless model. Great little stove!
