Yeah, I re--read you; sorry I misunderstood your point. So I'm basically in agreement with you. Clearing the Windows disk cache isn't necessary and will only hurt system performance.
In fact, clearing RAM Cache will slow perofrmance for a while. Your PC will lose the benefit of having frequently accessed data readily available in memory. This can lead to temporary performance issues until the cache is rebuilt. If you want to clear it, just restart your PC.
Also cached memory is actually freely available for allocation at any time. Clearing cached RAM serves no good purpose unless the cached memory somehow is corrupted.
Bro.. my gaming pc has 9.1 gb of cached, and whatever what i'm doing, i did everything just to clear the cached and it's still slow, nothing happens, BUT THIS METHOD. IT MADE MY LIFE EASIER! What a life saver and pc saver! bcz of that i'm gonna subscribe. U deserve more
Excellent, simple, well built, and truly works, if someone is here beforehand reading comments, just know that i did this and it cleared up my ram immediately
Outstanding, it freed up over half of my 32GB of memory. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This is on a recent fresh install on 10/15/23 of Windows 11 v22H2, OS build 22621.2428 I must also point out that although you have a South Asia accent, it is at least understandable for this old American Hillbilly. As much as I respect the tech expertise of many people from your part of the world. Usually, when I hear a thick South Asia accent, I just click off their site because, try as I might, I cannot understand them. Thankfully, in your case, I was able to quickly understand you. And make use of the excellent information that you provided. Be safe and well and please continue your good work.
In conclusion what you should have mentioned for these poor people, while there are situations where clearing the RAM cache can be helpful, it's not a routine maintenance task for most users. Modern operating systems are quite adept at managing memory, and manual intervention is usually unnecessary. If you're experiencing performance issues, it's often better to identify and address the root cause rather than resorting to manual cache clearing as a default solution.
So can you help me by telling me where in my laptop I can look to see the root cause please? I have 5.1 GB cached. I only started seeing the memory issue when I started playing Red Dead Redemption 2. Sometimes a restart allows me to play it but then other times it doesn’t. So how can I find where that 5.1 GB is coming from?
Windows RAM memory management seems very misunderstood here. Windows RAM cache (of disk data) is a performance benefit, not a bottleneck. RAM cache data is of lowest priority to Windows and will be immediately discarded (piece by piece if necessary) as processes demand more RAM. Deleting the RAM cache will only result in more (and slower) disk input/output. Ram cache is Windows way of utilizing otherwise unused RAM to hold recently accessed disk data to speed up access. Otherwise the unused RAM is essentially wasted.
I learned that installing ‘fix-it’ software to speed up a computer is not the answer. Throwing more crap is the problem. REMOVING the crap and learn what the system tools are there for. Hence turning off the computer holds all the junk in the ram. Doing a restart will flush out the useless while retaining the memory of the programs you use. And its right there on top of the option to shut down. While doing sound i was under the thought that EQ boosts low frequencies.. true. But the way to make it sound good is subtractive EQ. Always cut even if it means lowering all till the one thats missing is auditable. Same with PC. Cut the trash and you will have more room to move about.
@@chefmike8888 Turn off Fast Boot and then when your system shuts down it clears everything instead of saving it to hiberfil.sys and reloading hiberfil.sys on boot up. If your C: drive is an SSD or NVMe drive the difference in start times is just a few seconds. Basically what Fast Boot does is set your computer to Hibernate mode which is actually an old laptop thing from back when everything was 2 cores and everyone used a slow 3500 RPM hard drive that uses less power than a 5000 RPM hard drive but was slower. (A SSD will use considerably less power and boot faster)
i fucking love you bro. my game went from a 90-100 ping with lag spikes going as high as 2000 ping, but after clearing my cache my ping went to a consistent 80 ping. life saver. you got a new subscriber.
Omg thank you, I kept getting a pop up on red dead 2 about low vram, no matter how low I set the graphics. My laptop can run it and other games just fine, but that damn pop up wouldn't go away and was really annoying me to no end.
when i run the tool yes cached memory goes down only to go up again to the level it was at before running the tool. What pays. Also as many mentioned before clearing the cache defeats the purpose of having a cache in the first place.
Ram Cache is faster than ssd and hdd. Clearing the ram cache is a bad idea. This will slow down the read data. If you don't have enough ram, you actually have 2 options: either install a lite version of Windows, which consumes less memory, or buy additional memory, which is not so expensive now.
@@jadeshuks3339 you are right, I just bought the wrong lenovo soldered ram laptop and instead should have got the dell 16" all amd although dell wont let me have a super res screen with amd but at least I would get 16GB ram so I could barely run bloated windows
