At 0:05 the ginger on the right is from the same continent as I am! How coincidental! I was in Jambo Trooper 1113 from Rhode Island. We had the sweet transformers sets lol.
Some kids value certain patches differently, especially if they’re a pop culture or reach popularity throughout the jamboree. I remember in the 2005 jamboree some of the most popular and the kids were willing to trade multiple patches for just to get a piece of a set or only one patch from the set were the marvel superheroes set, the X-Men set, the Yoda patches from Marin Council and the Blues Brothers to name a few.
I went to the 2023 Jamboree and I love trading but trading there was horrible. First there was kids scamming. I know it’s not scamming, but scalping, but a couple kids but hundreds of the national Jamboree WOSM rings to trade, and they traded them for sets. There was also thiefs. It was so bad that I started a business catching thieves. (for free). Also, there’s kids who would waste their whole time, not doing any of the activities just patch trading. I like patch trading, but I don’t like how it’s done at the Jamboree.
The Black Market of patch trading😂😂

Whatever happened to the 1 for 1 trading trading rule? That kid gave up 3 patches for just 1 patch...

JAMBOREE 2005 was just like that. To avoid thieves, our Scoutmaster told us to keep our patches in a backpack and not lay them on the ground.
