Is it possible to charge this light while using it from a power bank?

Yes. I tend to do this with mine since i find the battery life a bit lacking when using the night flash mode

I'm thinking about getting one but still struggle. Isn't the beam too narrow? How does it feel?

For city and road use the width works pretty good, but for trails or small winding paths it's not ideal. If you are gonna use it +90% on roads/city, I would go for it. But if you go on trails a lot, then consider other options, especially flood lights or a combination of flood + spot light. For example the Ray 2600. Only drawback for that one is you might have to manually lower the beam to avoid blinding drivers when on the road.

Interesting, how far can you see with the cutoff beam on the road surface? It looks a bit better the Lumintop B01 but not that much better but that is hard to estimate from a video.

The cutoff is really clean, it basically goes from dark to lit within very few centimeters. I usually set it up similar to a car headlight, depending on the road I set the low beam between 30 and 50m, and the high beam up to 100m. The highest setting can go up even further, around 200m. In dry conditions you can see the road surface up to those distances, although the amount of light that comes back to you is less at far distances. On wet conditions, I would say that is reduced to 1/3 of the distances, unless the road has new reflective paint.

1000 more lumens would have been awesome

That would have been a plus, but in my opinion it doesn't really need them.

1000 lm it's plenty enough for long distances... 200-400 lm is enough for close-up even in complete darkness

      RIP battery life
      1000 is plenty
