Stunning airplane! My fav double prop aircraft! Thx Jeff for flying it !!
It's amazing how realistic the engines sound. I love the distinctive sound of the Baron!
Leaning is really easy to do Jeff. Simply bring the mixture back and watch the EGT gauge increase until it peaks and starts to drop. The aim is to bring it back once it peaks so it is on the rich side of full lean. If you are only climbing to a lowish altitude, you can lean at cruise but if you are climbing to a high altitude, you can lean during the climb to assist with power.
The engine buzz is spot on. Masterful work
Hey Jeff. My mom's ex boyfriend taught me how to fly a single engine plane when I was about 12 or 13. I'm 27 now. This video was awesome.
Wow! I wish i could learn how to fly at my age now (Im 14 on sunday)
Rayka you can start now. however, you have to be 17 to solo.
Rodney Buckland well not solo, ill ask the 'teacher' to acompany me...
That is the prettiest landing i have ever seen in the Baron. Nice video. Very thorough!
WOW That video nearly looks as real as my videos in the real airplane!! It may be time for me to upgrade my x-plane for those days I'm not flying!. Thanks for posting!
Im glad i stayed up a little late today to see this ;D
Jeff some of us don't have the luxury of being a youtuber and sleeping in, I guess I'll just have to watch tomorrow!
The plane on the left at 10:08 has a mustache!
Guess what? Its a Ferrari plane called the Piaggio Avanti (i guess its how you spell it)
great video jeff love aviation
Hey Jeff! That's my local airport KLAL! Come fly into sun n fun one of these years. You'll really like it.
Hey Jeff keep on doing this I love it
Hey Jeff, love your videos keep it up 👍🏻
I went to sun and fun last year. Great airshow!
I've actually flown in this plane irl multiple times and have flown it for about 5 minutes, even though I'm 13. This is just like the real deal!
yeah you don't have to get used to that warble. keep the props in sync, always. you can control it easily during takeoff and climb with your throttle levers.
also, it would be beneficial to ya to invest in the logitech pro flight multi panel, radio panel and switch panel. makes life a whole lot easier!
wow love these vids keep it up man
Got the REP pack... awesome! Easy to flood the carbs. Start procedure for flooded engines is weird. Worth the twenty bucks.
100% I knew you would like it!
I think this old Baron 58 is better than the new one. Only because of the sounds like the wobble/womwom.
"I have had nothing but problems with this autopilot."
Just like the actual baron I fly.
This expansion pack is the real deal!!! Hahahaha.
Loved the video Jeff and big fan! I had to pick up X Plane 11 a few weeks ago after watching so many of yours videos and have been using them to learn how to fly as well, so I really appreciate all that you do. Quick question about your camera setup though, is it a plugin or can you setup the default to save and load your views? Thanks again man for all the great content you create! :D
I always flood the engines whenever I tried to start it. I believe I just got the trick now lol 😂
This is another fantastic video Jeff! Keep it going! You have a good audience for this!
Keep up the good work Jeff love the videos
Your video has convinced me to buy the REP for this plane. Sounds so goooood.
hey Jeff love your videos keep up the great work your my favorite toutuber
Wish I could have made the rear tie down disappear like that. I once belonged to a flying club and after doing my walk around pre-flight checks on a Cessna 172, I started up, throttle up and couldn't move. Turns out I forgot to undo the rear tie down! Some of the other club members saw it and had a good laugh.
Nice job as always, Jeff. Great demo of the aircraft using REP.....you convinced me to purchase REP.
When you run the checklist, on a multi-engine with complex engines, you really should exercise the props when at 2200 RPMs, you kind of skipped that step on the checklist... not a biggy on a sim... but kinda important.
I just did this exact flight yesterday with the Airfoil labs Cessna 172. I live in Lakeland so it is my home airport. I wish Pilotedge was available on the east coast, of course the Bravo airspace of MCO would be a real challenge.
Very nice!
Great video as usual Jeff. Been ages since I commented on any videos! Quick question, as you came in to land, the PAPI looked pretty faint, and it looked a little washed out. Is that XPlane or RUclips compression being youtube compression? Since I've only ever used the MS Products, just wanted your thoughts on that?
Great video Jeff!
Good video, that's the way you do it. Watched another one before and stopped it after 8 minutes, the guy was still looking for a switch. Unbelievable!!!! Thumbs up for you, will buy the REP too. Have it for my Cessna 172 and it works very well👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing sound
This is also similar to what A2A does with their accu-sim line. I like it very much indeed! Though Carenado might not make the most accurate flight model, they sure do make them immersive and at least give the impression of the real aircraft while remaining accessible. I am looking forward to trying XP11 - hopefully on Steam sale. it would be my first forray into XP beyond the demo.
The thing that disappointed me...is that when the landing gear comes up or down, there isn't a sound. In real life, there is a squeak sound with a high pitch, later low, then high....
I've been practicing with the default Baron and I had similar issues when transitioning from the Cessna. I kept making a big mess on the runway. Lovely video. The Baron is lovely once you get the hang of it.
This is my favorite video on your channel
I fly once the Baron B58 in real life and I can tell you the REP its amazing! Perfect! Try the Phenom 100 for xplane too if you can... Thanks for the amazing video Jeff
Not sure if it is on X-Plane 11 but I'd love to see a 182 Skylane RG II, or any sort of Cessna with landing gear!
I use default weather in x-Plane, good enough for me. I don't care for clouds anyway. I usually make it clear all the time so I can see the beautiful ortho4XP scenery at ZL 18.
hi Jeff I have been a fan for 3 years
I caved and had the Carenado B58 for X-Plane 11 and decided to add the $20 REP package after watching a few videos. It was a bad experience; After installing and flying with it a few times it all of a sudden didn't allow the King pop out autopilot to work. I tried everything and eventually had to reinstall the whole B58 X-Plane 11 file folder again and reenter all the key code numbers, etc. That worked fine and now I am not going to take a chance and even try to run the REP version folder again because it also crashed even my original 11 version to cease working with the autopilot. There is nothing I can say good about the REP advantage other than it has checklist, performance data and some nifty little additional specs, but I guess for 20 bucks some might want to opt to buy it but I am back to just flying the 11 version which does have the pop out panel autopilot. By the way I have gotten used to the fact that the altitude set knob on the pop out does not work so have to use the settings by adjusting the in panel unit to adjust desired altitude and vs numbers.
you should do the Barons big brother, the King air.
That is way better than the default Baron. The default one has lousy ground effect so is almost impossible to not bounce the landing as it drops like a rock with even a little throttle pulled back on flare. On the other hand the default King Air is easy to get greasers with as it has a well modeled ground effect.
smooth landing
Ooh boy I'm gonna have to buy this aren't I... yeaaah.
YES
This plane is actually incredibly easy to fly and start up
The ground shakes a lot
Pretty sure my uncle owns this plane...I always forgot the model name though. Flown it once or twice, great piece of machinery. I'm almost positive he bought it from a Colombian drug smuggler though...
I could be wrong but I reckon your battery might be disconnected, you shouldn't get low bus volts with both engines and alternators running if the battery is charged/connected.
I like that you don’t even need to brake after landing unless your on a short runway
very good, the exact vid i was wanting to watch
Simcoders has released new versions of their REPs (version 3.0) yesterday as free upgrade.
Holy crap, thanks!
I must admit the panel and engine sounds are not nearly as pleasing or crisp as the default Baron in FS9 ..and that was ages back now.... possibly one of the main reasons I have not bothered to upgrade. Thanks for posting.
Would you say the crosswind behavior with the REP is different than the default aircraft? I’m having a hard time laying it down easy on the runway. It drops like a rock no matter what. Also the behavior of the plane on the runway feels exaggerated. I usually land with the crab method. What is your experience like with crosswinds?
i have the CH eclipse yoke and i use about 20% rudder in light crosswind, and if you find yourself landing hard your probably stalling out the last part of the landing. Can be tricky with the REP pack. but i suggest slightly more throttle, always check airspeed and flare(bring the nose up slightly to allow airflow to cease under the wing and bring the aircraft down) and you should see better results in my opinon.
it's all about Airspeed. airspeed. airspeed.
Jeff favignano you should get the carenado Cessna 152ii it's a good plane
I am intrigued - why are you allergic to prop sync sir? As an ex FE on multi-engine turbo prop aircraft, my OCD was off-scale high. Prop sync is very capable of staying on the whole flight my good man, from immediately after lift off to shutdown. Do your eardrums a favor next time...don't be 'that' guy flying around with no prop sync.
yeah..painful
Do more xplane btw love your vids
Hey Jeff! Love your videos! I live close to the area and I know there is a landing strip around. Just a suggestion for a future x-plane 11 video!
It’s prop sync not engine sync!
nice jeff
nice landing
Thanks man, I wasn't that good with the Baron until a lot of practice haha
I could a plane joke but I'll just take off.
beautiful landing.
JEFFF!!!! HELLLOOOOO
Hey Jeff please fly a c182 with g1000 package in IMC!!
Hi Jeff, thanks for the video. The link to the Carenado page in the description isn't working. Is the product I'm looking for on their site the B58 that's listed as compatible with X-Plane 10, with no mention of X-Plane 11?
So cool!
this is so cool because I live 10 min away from Lakeland lender airport
wish we could have seen the outter view landing... lol
Hey Jeff, does the game come with old WW2 planes? The bf 109 or something like that would be cool.
Walrus_War_King 16 It shouldn't be treated as a game. It doesn't come with WW2 aircraft by default, however you can buy WW2 addons from third parties.
Cries in 185 Skywagon.
Jeff you should try the Piper Chieftain from alabeo for x-plane I would like to see you try it.
IO-520s? or 550s? ;)) Great video!
Terrific video. I am new to all of this so I started in the 172 default. I have close to 30,000 hours real time so that was just too basic and slow. I switched quickly to the default Baron and had several great flights. Then I saw your video and now I have the Carenado Baron with the REP. When I go to the cockpit view it is already occupied with pilot and co-pilot. How do I get them out of the cockpit?
I know its late, but that's due to an activation issue. If you want my honest opinion, I would get the REP package for default b58 and get some wonderful community texture mods to get it up to speed. Carenado sucks and I would advise staying away from them if you can
walkaround with the flaps down dude.
notification squad
Thanks!
Yay no screen tearing issues! I am watching this on mobile though.
you should check your chrome settings at home and make sure the hardware acceleration is turned on. With it off it will give you screen tearing.
Kk
has jeff ever crash
I'm pretty sure he has. You have to make mistakes to learn and get better at what you do. I have been playing Flight Sims for maybe 10 years now and in the beginning I crashed a lot. I just took that experience and learned from it :D So yes he probably has lol
Jeff, what yoke do you use and how much did it cost because I really want one like that and I love playing x-plane 11 but I have to play with the keyboard so I really want to know about the yoke you just got!
KD International Vlogs Jeff uses the Yoko yoke if I am not mistaken. It's is a pretty hefty price though. It costs $821.
Jacob Sackter omg I'm getting a $20 CAD joystick...
Please do a Cherokee 6!! It's the plane I'm learning how to fly on and my god it's hard to learn in,!!
Jeff I have thrustmaster pedals and they are real sensitive, hard to control the airplane during taxi, even with the sensitivity lowered. Do you have any suggestions?
I would try adding a response curve to the yaw axis. Go into settings, Joystick, select your rudder pedals with the drop-down, then click "add response curve" on the right side under the yaw axis. by dragging the graph down, the rudder should be less sensitive.
Hope this helps!
Where is the wobble sound in X-Plane 11? I didn’t get the prop sync and the nice sounds you get. Any ideas why? I bought the new version dedicated for X-Plane 11 and it has other sounds than this aircraft. It’s the same plane but just with a different sound. Don’t know why Carenado didn’t put the old sounds into the new version.
probably from xp realistic
JDrag10 I got the answer. It’s from the REP Pack. Buying it tomorrow:)
Okay but im new to x plane and this walk around checklist is cool but will you ever encounter something not properly functioning on the plane before flight or does it just add realism?
Yes. The REP adds wear and tear to your aircraft, as well as corresponding issues and emergencies if you do not take care of your aircraft!
ok, time to fly!
What is the ceiling altitude of this plane?
Getoffofmycloud in real life I think it is around 17,000 feet.
The camera is all stuffed using this in XP-11 I'm really quite sad as I only have xp-11 installed and it has my photo real scenery on it. I bought rep and the plane in one go too. Any fixes?
Was good
Looks like with REP, I can now switch from FSX/P3D using A2A. Looks just as realistic!
Just wanna help you. I think you shouldn't turn off yaw damper during the flight, also the taxi lights use only on the ground for taxiing. Didn't see all video so I don't know if there is other small mistakes but remember these and be a better pilot :) Otherwise nice job man (y)
I was the 500 like and the 100 comment
Anyone using this with X Plane 10 and able to get auto start function to work or both engines to start?
A P check your maintenance first
do you need another quadrant to operate both engines because one only comes with 3 and which are your quadrants setup as exc. (flaps red ( engine 1 blue)
hi
yo jeff check out the paiggio avanti on X-plane..plz thanks
Hello Jeff pls I need help on this: the maintenance page I have is kind of large so I can't really move to the next page? How can I resize it pls
when you do the check at the beginning... whats the point... nothings going to be wrong is it... will it EVER fail an aeleron test.. and what do you do...just restart game?
if you don't do it you'll be more likely to forget it when you'll be in a real plane
@@DaGreatHandle i see ok
