Formed in Calgary, Alberta by Colin “Steamboat” Bloudoff, Streetscape was a pioneering Canadian group instrumental in introducing Popping, Boogaloo and Funk Styles to Canada between 1982-1985. Streetscape quickly grew from local and regional success to become the foremost street dance troupe of its kind to be exposed coast to coast on a national platform. Known for a combination of funk styles, upbeat presentation, and tight precision, Streetscape co-created and starred in Canada’s premiere street dance theater production “Taking It To The Streets”, revolutionized how corporate fashion shows were presented, and were featured on numerous award shows, commercials, TV specials and more.
Founding members were: Colin “Steamboat” Bloudoff, Wayne “The Saint” Headley, Paul “Ripple” Lewis, and Bradley “Breakin’ Brad” Rapier. When not moving together as a synchronized unit, Colin was most known for his locking and footwork, Wayne for his popping, Paul for his waves and floats, and Bradley was the breaker.
This performance featured the legendary Boogaloo Sam (founder of The Electric Boogaloos). Sam traveled up to dance with Streetscape for a number of performances that year after a recommendation from his brother, dance legend Popin Pete, and close friend Roderick Calhoun (RIP). Streetscape was honored to have Sam perform with them.
Man when I was a kid, these guys and the Lockers were my favorite guests on the talk shows. Imagine a bunch of Midwestern farm kids trying to learn these moves out in front of the barn, our parents thought we were hilarious
I would have loved to have seen that! 🙌🏽
@@BradleyRapier there's a vhs tape somewhere of us doing that. You guys were probably much more influential than you know. We were in no way interested in dance of any kind before you guys (and the Lockers, and the movie Breakin) came along and blew our minds. Thanks again!
🤣🤣🤣😝
The acting, the facial expressions make it Even better. Same as in crunk
All of theses guy's are amazing, but the white dude whith the jumping split to landing split wow!! His footwork at 0.57 iv'e never seen anything like that before. He makes it look too easy lol
@@adam631 yup! Colin “Steamboat” Bloudoff! He got that nickname for the sound his feet made doing ahis footwork. A Canadian street dance legend!
White Brother got moves yo ...

You are welcome! Being a part of Streetscape was a pivotal part of my life. Here’s another video from the same show where we introduce ourselves before performing:

@JFonK01 @unspokenrespect
Here’s the complete intro and performance for the first dance routine Streetscape performed on The Don Harron Show in 1984
Thanks for sharing your experience and art with the world.
@@CoachMitchellh Thank you for allowing me to re-experience again!
A young "Boogaloo" Sam Solomon is a treat to watch
Yes indeed! There was one special day when he was with us up in Canada. He and I were hanging out just the two of us and he just decided to show me every popping style he had made up. I wasn't even at a level where I could comprehend it all but it blew my mind.
GREAT peformence, very funny team
thank you! We definitely had a good time performing and putting routines together!
@@BradleyRapier yehhhhhhhhh, very good moment, good week to you brother
@@BradleyRapier if you training again, you can repeat it with your TEAM, you think ?
Repping YYC! Much love to you guys!

This is awesome! Thank you for sharing
Yes sir 👌👌
THAT WAS FIRE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙏🏽
WOW..👌👍
THE BEST.. 🙏
Thank you!
I lowkey enjoy the storytelling here🔥🔥
As someone who started to learn the funk styles, it is refreshing to see how the previous generations would get down. Even by today's standards, the moves are heaps fresh. Thank you for posting and inspiring 🙏
Please know they are not called funkstyles, its just street dance
@@Enter_Zoneless Popping and Locking are considered funk styles, they were literally conceived to funk and soul music. Also it's a good way to differentiate them from street dances (e.g. Breaking, Hip Hop). To say it is all "street dance" is a bit ignorant of their origin stories and connection to music.
I love the Lockers to death, but this Street Scape group is very good. They made pop blocking an art form.
Olha é reliquia hein!!!! Parabéns...da hora legal demais
Real beat street art dance
Absolutely amazing for sure! As for breaking the Canadian Floor Masters owned Canada.
Amazing! Brad, which one are you?
Blue pants!
This was the earlier performance and interview on same show 😎

@@BradleyRapier Well done!
Human anatomy hit different back then tbh. Something was in the water
nice nice
fantastici
Thank you! 🙏🏽
All of them are brilliant.
Who is the guy who moves like he’s in slow motion? He’s so smooth, his body is like rubber.
That is Paul "Ripple" Lewis
@@BradleyRapier
Thanks Bradley,
I’ve recently seen the video where you are all being interviewed and Paul forgets or even seems to shy to mention his dancing name. You all came across really well. Boogaloo Sam seemed slightly different in some way to the rest of Streetscape, but when it came to the dancing you all work together like clockwork
👏👏👏👏
breakin, lockin/poppin was all just 1930s dance stuff these guys took itbto another level
awesome stuff
Not entirely true but okay
Freeeesssshhh
sammedad
Im gonna call him KingDaddelot (He's KingSammelot's Dad)
Don Harron played Charlie Farquharson on Hee Haw.
Streetscape... When I grow up can I be a Locker! If you do watch their is moves and compare it to any of the Lockers you'll see a big difference. Lockers more polished and one move flows into the next. Watch their moves in the sinclair and not the moving in a group and itd clear.
👍
Hi samme dad
Hello!
Break dances should never try and act
Where is Mr Wave?
There was no Mr. Wave in StreetScape. You might be thinking of the New York City Breakers.
Song?
“Smile” by One Way
Song name ??????
"Smile" by One Way
Never saw a white man breakdance like that
That’s streamboat for ya
😂😂😂😂
Is dat white dude wurlin verlin? I think so. He be dope for real cuz. MAKE AMERICA TRUMPLESS AGAIN FRANKLIN 🤘🃏🇺🇸🎸🙀😂
Nope! His name is Colin “Steamboat” Bloudoff, the founder of Streetscape and a pioneer in Canadian street dance culture.
That is not break dance
Correct, it’s popping, breakin, waving, locking, boogaloo and flavour all mashed into a performance 40 years ago🙃
Pov: you came here from tiktok
Link?
🎉
Wack
Shut up
You didnt exist when they got down in this video😂
Where are they now?
Colin "Steamboat" Bloudoff lives near Vancouver, Canada. Paul "Ripple" Lewis lives in Ontario, Canada. Wayne "The Saint" Headley lives in Los Angeles. I (Bradley "Breakin' Brad" Rapier) have just relocated to Texas with my family after residing in Los Angeles for the last 28 years. bradleyrapier.com, @bradleyrapier
Do they still dance
