I always wondered how long OG was going to make the switch over to those. I swapped them out three years ago with my OG buckets and they do an amazing job keeping the contaminates on the bottom. The Detailguardz pad washer system is pretty neat too!

Do you also use the Detail Guardz lock scrub wall with these new grit guards ?
    Many thanks

No, we tested them but ultimately decided not to carry them as they just seemed slightly unnecessary plus they added significant cost to an already costly package.

do these fit in a generic wash bucket for carwashing?

These bucket inserts will fit majority of 3.5 to 7-gallon buckets.

The best approach is to change your washing process to remove grit from the paint prior to the contact wash. Relying on any brand of grit guard comes with risk.

Ture, you should always do the best you can to remove as much contamination from the paint prior to contact, but the Detail Guardz is just another way to hopefully prevent scratches. Hopefully, nobody is relying on it to replace a pre-wash lol.

Never understood why these are needed at all. Use microfiber towels, throw 5-6 of them in a bucket with soap and use them as needed without putting them back into the bucket with the rest. Once used it never touches the paint again. Been doing it this way for 8+ years with 1 bucket.

5-6 microfiber towels vs 1 wash pad/mitt with these inserts. I know which one I'm using.

Enjoyed the videos and all the recommendations. But I wish you would stop talking bad about the product you are replacing. It's just not necessary with the amount of loyal followers you have.

We aren't talking bad about products we've sold thousands of grit guards they are a great product but we made the decision to change them and were explaining why. Also, OG's opinion of the grit guard has never changed we've always believed that they provided marginal improvement at best. We just want to carry the best, and if something isn't the best we're going to replace it an explain why.
