But surely you need SOMETHING to happen? The gist of this tale is a suave man makes a pass at a married lady and she politely declines. It really needed a Hitchcock or Agatha Christie to liven it up a bit.
I remember this series at the time-it was filmed at Aldbury in Hertfordshire if I remember rightly. I went there with family one time later on and it was very nice too. It starred Robin Nedwell and Diane Keen amongst others if I remember rightly too. Thank you!!
I think it was December 1983 that we went there at the time so then too. We lived near Dartford in Kent, as I still do now then. I think too we decided to go round the M25 round London at the time; or at least what there was of it then at the time of course. And we found Aldbury there at time so too. Very nice it was too as before!
"Oh... RobINS, Harold Robins.... I thought you meant that awful man... what's his name... Harold Robinson! Have you read any Harold Robinson? Oh... painful!"
Good old subsidence. I've owned houses in the UK and the US. Every home owener in the UK is obsessed with subsidence. Not a single home owner in the US has even heard of it.
@@mtsenskmtsensk5113 Well i see what you mean....except I'm a New Englander and the houses around here were built between 1650 and 1910. The house I raised my daughter in was built out of old ship timbers (it's on an island off the coast which didn't have a lot of trees). The home we had in London was the newest place we lived, it was built when Victoria was still Queen. They do ALL have terrible plumbing.
@@lizclegg7556 Ah! Now THAT is an intelligent question. Sadly I lack anything like the intelligence to give an intelligent answer. But I do see what you mean. The only thing I can say is that we know that brick/masonry buildings are really badly harmed by earthquakes, whereas wood frame houses much less so..though chimneys will keel over quite often.
From a then eleven year old in last year at junior school - why the dickens are you castigating something which is worth watching by young kids and is devoid of uncouth elements?
Thank you, that was lovely.
Just love everything about this series
What a great comedy actor Robin Nedwell was. He was taken from us much too early.
I know - as I was 28 when he died and am now aged 53, older than Robin was at his demise!
A lovely trip back to another time, indeed....
Yes, I was eleven and in my last year at junior school back then!
Great series! Thank you for sharing this.
I agree, thank goodness no irritating fake laughing
Brilliant series, not seen until now, a joy to watch
The England I remember and love.
That was terrific. Loved this series when I was young.
Thank you the lovely shows have you any more so enjoyable 😊
Brilliant, really enjoyed it, no swearing, violence or gratuitous sex, don't make 'em like that anymore.

How dull!
Iconic series, thanks for finding it ❤
Brilliant!, many thanks again. Best wishes. Gérard lacey in Ireland. X.
This series when filmed reminds me of Darling buds of may but in real time.
So true a very similar feel!!
I love these shows ! Thank you !
You'r welcome

Wondered where it was filmed such a pretty place xx

I remember this episode when it was first shown
It would take weeks & weeks for a ceiling to dry out ... not one wet night

@greenman6141 Most houses in the US were probably built last week and haven't had a chance to settle down yet.

The nature of the soil is primary. Clay, alluvial, chalk, black soil, etc.
A bit cheeky using a thumbnail photo with a shutterstock watermark on it!
Diane Keen in a bikini....woof! She was stunning.
If she was my wife I would never leave home
She really is a cracker.
I didn't know that Diane Keen was furry, walked on four legs and had a tail! Maybe she needed to be kept on a collar and lead?
@@angelacooper2661 definitely.
The village must be a patient lot or in need of cash to have the film crew living in their pockets half the year xx
It's difficult to know what order to watch the videos in or are they each stand alone episodes
Query did they take an advantage of a real drought or did they drain the pond?
"BACK DOWN THE LADDER ?"
NO SHIT SHERLOCK !
Is THAT how you talk to Doctor Watson?
Utterly dreadful script and poor acting, no wonder I don't remember it. Though I was 18 then and had far more interesting things to do
