What if you need to update your datasource? For example, you forgot to add another field in access database. So you add it on the database. Now, since you have already connected that database to vb.net net, how will you be able to reflect the added field into the previously connected datasource?

Ok found it is "Select the database in Solution Explorer, select properties, select Copy to Output folder. Set to "Copy if newer"

Nice tactic, one that is not used when using other relational databases.
I'm trying to add a combo-box feature for patients that are Male or Female, what data type would I use? When I drag and drop it's just a textbox....
Nevermind -- if there are others who are having the same problem as me... delete the textbox and create a combo-box. You can link the data to the combo-box by going to the properties of the combo-box and selecting "Data-Bindings."

+Vicki Chittenden Just use the same data sources. If it's all the same project you don't need to add the DB again. In fact, if you did add the DB again you would only be making another copy of that DB and not editing it between forms... and that would be terrible!

If I have datatype text with Lookup values in my database table and I want the combobox on my form , how I can do that ?
I tried to change the control type in datasource of that column of the table and dragged on to form. When I run it doesn't shows the values, it just shows the blank combobox.

I was taught to change the format of the database and then link it to visual basic, not just link it directly, because it won't even find the database without changing the format, why don't you have to?

good tutorial but it is very annoying when u spend 3-4 min saying something like, its checking if the db is in the project. you replete it 15 times and its pretty obvious what its saying. Try not to drag on with the un necessary parts and itl knock the length down dematicly :)
