MOVE-IN VLOG 2022 at Montclair State University
Do you know your roommates? How does the decorating in the common area work? Did you all agree on what is in there, or are you waiting for their input? Just curious.
I do know all my roommates! And they have been visiting me/ dropping off their decor for all four of us in the common space! So for example one of my roommates dropped off the cherry bath mat and neon sign for our bathroom and another one of my roommates dropped off the cherry blanket, tv, toaster, and utensil in the common space. Everything I put up/bought for the common space was already approved by them! It was not shown but they even helped me decorate some of the spaces! If you don’t know your roommates I don’t recommend decorating the common spaces before they come lol I just moved in three weeks before them so I mentally just needed a nicely decorated dorm :)

وعن الإمام علي "عليه السلام": عَجِبتُ لعامر دار الفناء، وتارك دار البقاء Imam Ali, peace be upon him, said: I cant understand how any one inhabits this transient abode-and is
so indulged in it-but ignores the everlasting hereafter abode,
one God for all of us, all the universe shows unity with diversity, there are different things different creatures and different materials but are all made of particles and atoms
Even if we will assume that there will not be an atom left of you after death, you still have proven as a created being that there is a Creator,you proved the existence of God even if you do not believe in God.
God initiated everything, and he redo too, and it is evident.
this life is temporary while the next is forever eternal either in paradise or burning in Hell fire
good qualities are beneficial, and bad qualities are harmful
Be good dont be bad and refrain from sins and obey God and worship him alone in the way he wants to be worshiped and you will be saved from Hell fire and will enter paradise and be happy forever
Whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it,
or may not see it if God pardons him/her and has mercy on him/her that's if he/she try's to fix what he/she has spoiled, in the right time,
Also, when you give charity God protects you and blesses you with more good things in life or more money.
A teaching from the prophet Mohammed may peace and blessings of God be upon his pure great soul and upon his great honorable progeny.
Also, if you be bad to others you will hurt your own self too,
likewise when you don't do what you should
in the right time.
& having faith in God makes you stronger
and makes you have hope even when things become very difficult
and even when you are weak.
Another thing:
Drinking alcoholic beverages damages the liver and the mind,
& adultery is not good because it is not true love it is neglect to the lady and to the fetus, and brings sexual diseases.
while marriage on the other hand, ok it has sex in it, but it is a relationship in which the woman and the fetus are cared for
as for sodomy-same sex marriage-its bad not part of normal human life &it brings sexual diseases, &eating pork can bring cholesterol&some parasitic worms,
Not cheating &gaining trust by being trust worthy and honest,
&having good behavior,
brings more money to you and is good for you in the next life too,
These are some of the teaching of the prophet Mohammed
The Messenger of God Muhammad is the most perfect human, and most intelligent man, his mind was the brightest mind,
&he is the most merciful of all people, his heart was the biggest heart, but he was firm against every crime,
&was the most just &kind, and taught every good, taught people to respect &love & care for each other,
&for the female, &elder, &children, &to protect the innocent person regardless of what he/she believed,
(If one of the polytheists seeks protection from you, then grant him protection) Holly Quran,
&taught to either forgive the one who wronged you, or be just &fair when retaliating, or to shock the person and enslave his/her heart by being generous &kind.
who to follow after the prophet?:
Even if you may think that all the companions of the Messenger were
always good and all of them are like mountains, despite everything that happened between them!!
the Prophet said: “My family-daughter Fatima the lady of light the lady of heaven and Imam Ali and their great offspring's and special perfect chosen descendants-are like the ark-/ship-of Noah, whomever embarked on it survived, and whomever did not drowned and died.
&We know that the son of Noah did not embark on the ark/ship of salvation, rather he climbed a mountain and drowned due to the very high tides and because he didn't follow God command. Don't be like him
spread the light teach what's good &right its best for you and for all and better than letting the wrong things from wrong teachings or bad desires and ill mind happen, prevention is better than cure ,

You're so lucky to have The Village dorms. That place was just woods when I studied there. I lived in Blanton and Clove Rd when it was Montclair State College.

Were the couches included with your room if so, that must be nice. I'm transferring to Montclair State University next week, so I should be able to meet up with my new roommates. Unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky with the room pick but, it is what it is. I just hope I get to enjoy my first week at being at Montclair State.
Yes couches are included in both apartment styles (hawk crossings and the village)!

I actually got the bookshelf from Facebook marketplace for free so I’m sorry but I don’t know the brand! But the black bins were three dollars each from five below!!

Is there a possibility to buy a comforter on campus ?
To my knowledge I do not think so but there are shuttles that go to I believe target or Walmart on the weekends!!

Hey, I was wondering. Which hall would you consider better to pick between Russ, Stone and the Heights also let me know why?
russ is a freshman dorm , stone if i remember right has community bathrooms, the heights is nicer overall. i loved dinallo, basilone!
When you picked housing, how did you know which apartments were the all singles vs the double and two single rooms? Me and a few of my friends want to get the 4 single rooms but are unaware of what to look for when picking housing!
As an RA I got automatically placed into singles! If I remember correctly some apartments like all apartment Ks and I think Ds and Es are also singles when you pick housing it will have the layout for you I believe. If you really want to be sure he can look up the fire floor plans for a village building that shows you all the layouts so you can see which apartment you might want

This dorm is also the Village not Machuga! But Machuga does have doubles and singles :)
Greetings, I am a prospective freshman at Montclair, and I was hoping to get some basic insight as to the quality of the food on campus. I have heard many less than flattering tales of the sustenance provided at the dining halls, and I find this a tad concerning given that I was forced to subscribe to a meal plan. I am vegan, and thus am restricted in what I am able to eat, so have I just wasted an exorbitant amount of money to starve? Thanks, and great comprehensive video!
okay so the food is not great, especially if you have any type of restriction (vegan, allergy, dairy free) but there are a few new restaurants on campus this year like smoothie lab and there is a entire vegan bar at Sam’s (I always get the avocado toast) I recommend just having a mini fridge with some basics for you to eat and if you live in the heights or Blanton they have brand new kitchen that you can use!
Sadly the food plan is mandatory for any freshman living on campus
oo the venture cafe at the business building has some good salads and a sandwich that has only veggies but other than that there’s not a lot of options for vegans
the village looks so much better than the heights :/
I have never lived in the heights but I personally think they are the nicest dorms on campus! You have your own bathroom which is pretty nice!!

I transferred to montclair but I did share a room :)

Yes, the Heights also offer single dorms as well!
u jus put all u r furniture in one side in ur bedroom if u make balance maybe will look more beautiful ✨

so how many dorms have bathrooms in them for the freshman? I just got accepted here and thinking about coming!
The only dorms with communal bathrooms are Bohn Hall and Stone Hall, freshman can be placed in both of those dorms but they are also welcomed to apply for other dorms like Blanton (4 to 1 bathroom) and the heights (2 to a bathroom)!!!

Is it much more expensive to live in the village compared to the other dorms? I heard there’s no kitchen in other dorms 🥲
I believe the village is one of the more expensive dorms but you do not need a meal plan! For example Blanton dorms per semester is 4,520 dollars but you need to buy a meal plan for over 2,000. The village is 6,200 but you do not need to buy a plan so it kinda all equals the same amount :)
Also the only dorms with kitchens are hawks crossing and the village
Much better to have own kitchen than suffer with Sams etc 💀

There is a campus shuttle that will take you on the weekends!

Yes you can have a meal plan but it is not required because you have a kitchen!
What dorms do the freshmen stay in??
Bohn hall is a all freshman dorm, freshman can also live in Blanton, Stone, and the Heights
