The devotees here offer the head when the vows are fulfilled, then for others a narrow rock and these caves are a matter of curiosity.Pir nigah is a combination of two words - pir and nigah. According to one account, Sally is a village 6-7 km from here. A Brahmin family lived here. A person named Nigahia of the family had leprosy. The family members hated him so he left the family and stayed in these caves for a few days. Meanwhile, he found a person who told them that your disease can be cured by visiting Lakhdata Pir Sakhi Sultanpur Dargah which is now in Pakistan. Nigahia made preparations to go there. At that time there were no means of transportation. So he started walking on foot. A short distance away, he found a fakir who asked him who he was and where he was going.When he narrated his story to the fakir, the fakir said that you do not need to go anywhere, you will be healthy here. Fakir Baba took them to the adjacent chapadi (water glasses) and splashed the water and he was cured. The fakir said that from today, whoever sprinkles the water of this splash on the leprosy will be cured.The fakir asked Nigahia to do devotion in the same cave. Pir Lakhdata became 'Pir Nigah' by adding the name of that fakir and nigahiya to the name of that Brahmin. The fakir told him that whichever devotee would come to this place, his wishes would be fulfilled and the eyes of the nigahiya disappeared. From then on, Nigahia performed devotion here and became very attentive here. Samadhi has been built in this cave. On the day of Baisakhi, samadhi is bathed and the first sheet is offered to the Brahmin family of Sally village. In the Pir Nizha Pasir, sleeping on the bedstead of the arrow, frying oil and leaving buttermilk and living in a household is also forbidden. All the caves along with the big cave of Baba Lakhdata where Nigahia ji had performed devotion have been renovated at a cost of Rs 2 crores.
The holy chapari whose water was sprinkled by the fakir got rid of the disease, now that chapari has been completely rejuvenated by the management committee here. There are fountains here. There is a special arrangement for bathing of people. This holy place is in the east direction in the middle of Una-Behdu road, seven-eight kilometers from Una-Nangal road.There are better means of transport to reach here. The management committee is run by the Gram Panchayat of Basauli. The management has five to six inns for the pilgrims to stay here, while a three-storey complex is under construction. There is a special arrangement of langar for the devotees, which runs unbroken from 11 am to 3 pm and from 7 to 11 pm in the evening. There is a dispensary in the campus itself. Gau is the Seva Sadan.
