Never be disheartened when fishing Guys, enjoy the moments, the battle.
The fish have to win sometimes otherwise there isn’t the challenge.
So the big one got away, and I can’t wait to see you take up the challenge of getting one boat side in a video sometime in the future.
Keep smiling! Your both are awesome.

@@TheCaptainbeefylog Ouch. That was a bit silly of him. You have to be so, so careful on boats with everything. From cutting up bait to throwing out a chum sack, even just walking across a wet deck. You don't have any wriggle room for mistakes at sea. My old Skipper lost his brother in the 70s, shooting away a string of pots when he got his foot caught in a coil of rope. Said it only took 2 seconds and he'd gone.

Another great video boys but such a pity you didn't at least see that fish which was undoubtably a Bluefin. These and Yellowfin tuna are now being caught off of Cornwall and Devon. Let's hope that after Ist January as the French, Spanish and Dutch can no longer rape our fisheries at wiil these magnificent fish will increase in number as the sardine and herring shoals grow larger and more numerous. In the 1950's and 60's big game anglers such as Ernest Hemingway, Zane Grey and Charles Ritz were annual visitors to Scarborough, Lincs to hunt the huge bluefins (then called tunny) that often exceeded 800 lbs and some even above 1,000 lbs.

Large Tuna becoming fairly common off the west coast and Southern Ireland. Already a couple of custom tuna sport fishing boats operating in the area and watch the fish locker to see him catching them on a small boat.
When the big herring shoals where here before the 60’s huge blue and yellow fins where caught all around our coast , with I think Amble in Northumberland once having the world record blue.
If we can just stop Dutch mega trawlers taking all the bait fish stock from our waters who knows

Bluefin tuna not associated with British fishing? You should do a search for the old tunny fishery off Whitby and Scarborough in the 1930s!
They followed the herring shoals into the North Sea and only stopped coming when the herring was fished out.

Im still in highschool, but I want to start fishing (I used to long ago in a lake I lived next to, but I moved and havent fished since). There is a river nearby and I am thinking about starting to fish there. Any tips on what I should buy (besides a rod since I still got my old one)and fishing tips in general?

Carl and Alex, if you were popping pills in the morning, i'd rather expect "STURGEON - 15" to prepare yourselves for an epic catch!!! :P

Sorry for you mate. Went first time catfish lure fishing at night this year, got two hits on homemade crankbait and lost a decent fish...
It was a similar situation, because it surely was the biggest fish I've ever had on a rod. :)
Hope you try it again sometime, would love to see that tuna!

fair play lads that was incredible, you guys are killing it, ngl i felt ill watching this, Last time i went out to see, sea fishing after abou 10 mins i had to bring the rods back in. I was stupid enough to throw up in the skippers private toilet downstairs. Lets just say, he wasnt a happy bunny at all. I had to wait for the sea ambulance to take me back to shore. Lets just say it was some what of a memorable experience lol, since that day i refuse to go sea fishing ever again unless casting from the shore haha

Can we please all stop accepting that the cluch on a reel goes brap-brap-brap-brap-brap, meaning its locked up until it loaded back up and then its all free before it locks up again. And then the cycle continues... It should go: weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeee! and then you can reel in and enjoy your life.

If you’ve got dolphins moving through bait fish what stops them taking your bait? Do they get hooked by accident, I’ve haven’t seen dolphins being caught apart from in nets.

Holy shit. I am so gutted for you. I had my hand straight to mouth in disbelief when I saw the rod spring back. I cant imagine how you were feeling. But hey its probably got you hooked on going for it again.
